Many of us in the sixties were environmentalist, but we were never thought the science of decreasing pollution. Eye opening lecture, except that I am now in my sixties. Keep up the good work.

And use obvious renewables which are usually cheaper anyway.

So, somebody tell me why we're foolishly endangering our power grid by shutting down our coal fired power plants? These scrubbers make them a whole lot cleaner, right? Our EPA recently shut down a local 136 Mw coal fired plant in our town. But don't worry, there are also plans to replace it with a 5 Mw solar plant. BTW, our electric rates went up by 10% this year. I'm shocked that it wasn't more. Get ready to wear sweaters kids.

because to scrub all the co2 from a coal plant would use ~10 time as much sorbent as the coal that's burnt in the 1st place. Mass balance.

+marcus Killian -To 'scrub' all of the emissions of CO2 from 100,000 acres of wild fires consuming overgrown forests, would take? Note that 100,000 acres of wild fire burning out of control for weeks, emits more CO2 than All of the transportation across the entire USA ...for one full year.
NM has burned over one million acres in just One wild fire. USA burns approximately 3 million acres in any given year. Kellogg fire alone burned over 3 million acres. 30 years relative to cars, trucks etc across the entire USA. In order to 'control' CO2, we 'must' have scrubbers for Wild Fires. EPA had better get busy :>)

Solar is far smarter, slightly higher rates encourage conservation. LED lighting will make your bills lower than ever before.
