I think in the future of college football games will have less attendance and less views on TV. Its becoming a joke. Its like semi pro now and even playoff teams are losing key players. May not be a popular take but 90k fans spend their hard earned money on games and all that and stay loyal so this can happen? I get paying them for Name Image and Likeness in games and merchandise but when was free scholarships and a platform to perform not good enough? Definitely starting to piss the fans off. There needs to be regulation or this is never going to end. The Portal has ruined the sport.
Agreed. Gambling is the wildcard, and engages people even with losing teams. I don’t think of it as “sport.”
Oh boy!!! We get to go 6 and 6 again next year with all of these trash portal players we are going after. Where is the sense of urgency with this staff? This tells me that no matter how many games we win next year, BV is not going anywhere for at least a couple of years until his buy-out drops. If not, we would be doing what Texas, Ole Miss, and many others do in the portal and actually go after top end proven talent. It's awesome being a Sooner fan these days.
We ain't losing nobody all the players are entering the transfer portal. They haven't play in a game. Just besides arnold, nic the other wideout.
We are losing some great receivers and we are going after second tier replacements. Sad
If Hawkins is the starting qb next year, we are in big trouble. I still have nightmares about the start of the South Carolina game.

I agree but I think the transfer portal is worse then NIL because there is no commitment anymore. In the nfl players have contracts and are committed to whatever team they are at for a certain number of years but not in college, players can leave and come whenever they want
Gonna be a challenge getting WRs to commit when you don’t have a starting QB.

If we get all the roster additions we so desire, whats our realistic ceiling in 2025? 8 games? 9 games? 10 games? What is the floor for this coaching staff that would get them all fired? Another 6 win season?
I cant imagine he’d last another 6 win season. BV’s win % isn’t even close to Gary Gibbs. I think our ceiling is 9-10 wins but take one away for inevitably terrible time management like every year.

We all saw Hawkins this year. He is not ready if he ever is. Did you see his Allen team get destroyed by St. John ? He did not look so special there
You’re talking about a high school game when he was 16 years old. Hawkins was a true freshman behind the worst OL group, WR core, and OC and the most injured team in the entire SEC. He struggled but showed he has a big arm and a lot of zip on the ball, and unbelievable speed but he wasn’t ready just yet. Now he gets a full offseason being coached up by a really nice quarterbacks coach/OC. We need to bring a QB in from the portal no doubt, but writing Hawkins off as a bust is ridiculous under the circumstances. Baker mayfield would’ve struggled with this poverty/injury riddled roster last year.
