- In this video, I show you how to obtain all the Electoons and the Lum Medal for the "Riding the Storm" level of "Moody Clouds".
Fun fact: I never knew you could attack the Teensies until I accidentally did so in this recording. There's so many hidden details in this game!
No joke, I used to think this was among the hardest levels in the game. That's because I was stupid. You see, prior to this Moskito level, I only ever held down the fire button. That only gives you a comparatively slow rate of fire and consequently was responsible for much of the difficulty I had with in the various subworld Moskito levels. The trick is to repeatedly tap the fire button in order to fire much faster than simple and lazy holding. If you're like me and it never clicked that that is what you SHOULD be doing, you'll pretty much be forced to learn the tapping technique by this level since it's (near?) impossible to get the Lum Medal with just a single player and no tapping.
If you're having trouble with the Lum requirements, the only hint I can give you is to quicken your trigger finger and to make the most of the Lum King opportunities since that's where large swathes of Lums can be accrued.
I know I missed some Lums I could've gotten with a bit more discipline, but I still got the damn Medal for this level and that accomplishment is plenty for me. - เกม
Thanks for the video. @3:35 if you grab the Lum King as late as possible, your x2 bonus is active long enough to give you a welcome +5 lums on the next wave of flies.
It's hard enough just to get through this level without getting 350 lums :'(
I almost broke my Vita when I saw that endpoint and I had 298 lums...
Don't lose hope! Just give the game a rest for a while, and when you come back you might be more successful next time. Sometimes repetition of a challenge (unintuitively) only causes you to temporarily get worse at it during further attempts.
Getting all three sets of red lums at 3:35 helps quite enough, even when you start that last section with 180 lums. The difference is 10 because the swarm of mechanical flies only gives you 10 and not 20 from 10 red lums.
Okay, well, but remember that the Lum Medals aren't necessary for the platinum. You need only to get enough Lums to get the Electoon, and then you can move on without fretting about trophy loss. The hard challenge of the Lum Medals is truly optional.
Why haven't I noticed you could EFFING tap and control your effing Mosquito's fire speed? After finding that out this level was a breeze. Thanks for your vids man.
Yes, this one is very tough and surely does not seem well tested for single-player. However, as shown and written about in the description, tapping the fire button (instead of holding it) can be enough to get past the requirement.
In any case, don't fret too much about the Medals since they aren't worth anything at all. There is literally no reward for them other than the little cosmetic medal next to the level name.

Don't worry, I myself didn't realize / remember that until much later. I knew there just had to be some way to make the levels easier, and one commentor reminded me of the tapping.
@IGIPNP I did it! I got 351, which means that I BARELY made it. There's no way I'm going to attempt a better run. The vacuuming technique really did help me alot in the first part of the level.
This level can't have been made with single player in mind. I haven't gotten 350 on any other mosquito level either (while it's usually fairly simple on every other level), but there's just way too much happening at once here for me to have a fair chance. Rage inducing - sure, fun - not at all. Too hard for me, and I'm playing most games on hard. Actually I haven't played a harder game ever, and I've been playing a lot the last 10 years.

@Fullmetal24680 It depends on how fast you tap. If the flies are close together (especially two rows at once), it definitely is faster. (You can see me use this frequently in other Moskito levels.) However, sucking in enemies causes you to be stuck in place and slows your first shot after, so that's why tapping fire can be comparable or even better in some situations.

@IGIPNP Hmmm...that's a plausible answer there. I'll keep this in mind on my next run on this level. I usually find as many good opportunities to inhale as possible, but this can be an exception.

Just finished with 358 lums. My tip would be to look at the individual checkpoints and check that you have at least the same amount of lums as IGIPNP, if you don't just kill Rayman and try again. Don't try and do the level in one clean swoop, it's so much harder!
whoever made this level needs to be hurt. there is too damn much going on at once. I somehow made it though with 289 of 350.

You're back on your feet with the uploading and all. :) Anyway, I must say, I've been especially looking forward to this video, because even repeatedly tapping the fire button hasn't helped me gain 300 lums at least. This is even harder than "Hunter's Gathering", "Don't Shoot the DJ" and "You're on Fire".
I must ask, isn't it quicker to simply inhale the larger red flies and the flying bombs, than to shoot at them? Because then you could finish off other multiple airborne enemies.
Yes, it's possible you experienced a glitch. In your favor though, so I guess that's nice.
@ForeignDzadzai Same here. The only reason I got over 350 is because some friendly commentors reminded me that I can tap the fire button. I realized that before, but I had forgotten it by the time I tried to record this originally.
Yes, really. It's odd, but the Lum medals are not included in the Trophies/Achievements anywhere. Everything else (like those time trial trophies, hidden Electroons, time trial Electoons, and lum-requirement Electoons) is required for Platinum though.
YESH! Just got 351 Lums. Barely made it. Fingers hurt from tapping but it was worth it. :D

Too late, I officially gave up. it's not worth the stress and anger just to I can post on Facebook that I have a platinum trophy for the first time. I'll get a comment, a few "likes" and then everybody moves on. it really isn't worth it. I did get every trophy but 2 (3 including the platinum, but it's a trophy trophy, so I'm not counting it)
I have had to put my Vita down several times so I don't break it as well. So much for my first ever platinum trophy!
