These Yugas makes a MahaYuga which is 4,320,000years or 4.32million years .
=71 MahaYugas makes 1 Manvantara
=14 Manvantara makes 1 kalpa
= 1 kalpa stands for 1 day of Brahma
Thus 1 day of Brahma worked out to be 4,294,080,000years or 4.294 billion years ( roughly the present Age of Earth as estimated by Modern Science)

Most of the people in India Celebrate New Year because they can drink and do party in the name of New year . If Drink and Party is not there 90% of the people won't celebrate NewYear. This is the hard reality. In Indian Culture and festivals and Big events Drink and Party is not there. That is why Younger generation is not interested.
