    This is my favourite song in the game, I just love the pure blue "morning fades" version but it's so cool to see all the variations ! I would love to see something similar for the other songs as well

    I cannot explain it properly but somehow first red verse feels like the proper start of this song to me even through I love green and blue chorus better. I'm strange man when it comes to sound and instrumentals. My mother is in love with the first pre chorus btw she just loves this "I don't follow" she doesn't even know english and she just said I love the confusion the girl expresses.

    This. This is the reason why I plunked down the money immediately. I want my money to support these projects!! The mixes were so good 🎉
    I have such a hard time with this song not starting down the blue path. That clarinet is so delicious. Combined with Pan's soul vocals, it just has a vibe that makes my whole body resonate. It was such an amazing sound.
    I hope you get to do more like this! I hope it starts a genre! Thanks for all the music in an amazing game!

    Please do this with "challenging a queen", the mixing of the themes is really good there! (I really like the mix of "a thousend times before" from green, the crowd singing from blue, and the rap over it for red)

    When the analysis of a single song is 48 minutes, you know you're in for a treat. As a side note, it's awesome hearing these tracks without vocals so we can really appreciate the instrumentals, I absolutely adore how much you have panning back and forth binaurally here. The bit at 24:06 was especially awesome to me.
    And with the vocals, I had never noticed just HOW dry pop vocals are mixed, it's fascinating hearing that without the instrumentation.
    Also, I've said it a million times but it is insanely impressive how much effort and detail went into this music. I love the way the different instruments represent the different paths and motifs, and the way you mix and match instruments for the different paths and endings is nothing short of amazing.
    Thanks for sharing more with us Austin, I can't wait to see what comes next!

    This. Listening to someone go through the branching paths on this song earlier this year is what made me get the game.
    I absolutely love the Breakdown you did here! I never noticed just how much the instruments mash-up when you go between colors. I would love to listen to a breakdown on a song like "The Throne", but considering that you couldn't even cover the entire first song in an hour, I think a video on that song would be 4 hours long lol

    I can't say enough how I love the hearing the songs I've come to love so much being broken down like this. Hearing the instrumentation without vocals especially makes me appreciate how gorgeous the music is. My favourite path in this song is definitely blue and that clarinet! Goosebumps.
    I also never tire of hearing how the music / instrument choices relate to the characters. Each time I've learned about one of the character's signature instruments I get really excited haha

    I just recently went through I Can Teach You to see all the variations. My absolute favorite discovery was the clarinet line in the blue-tinged red path (My Time to Shine). Amazing! I really love all three major themes in this one which is not how I feel about all of them. I can't pick a favorite.

    • @Mockingdragon

    awwww... yes! This modulation (in blue track, green choice) is my favourite moment across all the variants! Something I always wait for 😃
    Thank you Austin for picking this for the Pantheon edition 😉
    So what's next? I guess "The Ritual"? 😁 The song, where variants, I believe, differ from each other the most.
    Austin, I have impression you are a person who pays great attention to details (based on your other works as well). And I believe that's why you are the wonderful choice for this project - you had enough perseverance to not only define all variants with Tripod, record them with actors, but also to orchestrate and mix them in a way that results in very distinct outcome for each one of them (not to mention leading recording sessions with musicians). Even though, I believe, it must have been very demanding process for you (even if it is your dream project). I, again, greatly appreciate your work 🙏

    • @awintory
      @awintory  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You are very kind and you're not wrong, detail for me is everything. The broad strokes count too, but I really care about how all the individual pixels click together. It's tedious but rewarding

    I'm on my third playthrough of the game with one of my friends, and it's incredible how different each song and each story end up with all the different choices. There's clearly so much thought and care put into this, and the end result is fantastic.

    This was my favorite song, recording the opening music after the vocals was a really good choice. Thanks to that and the sing-talking really drew you into a sort of uncertainty where there's a question raised in your mind. You could say it inspires the same sort of feeling grace herself feels. "What's going on? Is this a good thing... or should I be nervous?"

      @@DallasCrane I've suddenly started wanting an oldschool "save state" code to mark (or launch games from) key turning points. With so many choices, it'd be good to have a definitive hash code so The Discourse could talk coherently.
      OR, a 'newgame+" mode with a flowchart overlay would be a cool update too.

    This was the song that got me hooked into the game; and I love how the production changes depending on the decisions you make! Also (not to spam you with comments but also to up your metrics) I loved how the "friend you can use" phrasing that I knew from the pure-blue ending showed up in the red-tinged blue ending. Seeing how the characters and sprites interacted with the different backgrounds and set choices was super fun too.
    Curious - Were the actors ever recording together, like Grace and Freddie harmonizing, or were they all individual?

    • @awintory
      @awintory  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hah thank you re: the metrics!! :)
      Sadly actors weren't allowed to be recorded together due to covid protocols from SAG-AFTRA. And frankly, it would've only been in a few songs where it made sense, like the romance songs. Otherwise it would have been supremely inefficient, since there number of variables is so huge.
