I scored an 8 in the IELTS speaking section. Although I was worried about running out of things to say, the opposite actually happened. Time flew by, leaving me wanting more. Lesson learned: relax and enjoy the conversation without overthinking.

She’s really good at delivering and not hesitant when speaking but I feel like she’s not elaborating more when I think she could have. Still very good and very informative video☺️

She said she's in graduate school and If she didn't study undergraduate course in SNU it doesn't really count cuz it's relatively way easier to get in graduate school than undergraduate

This makes me want to take an IELTS test.
I feel like she just say what she memorized. There is no stress in the sentences. I know she speaks English well, but I wish she could speak more naturally.

Her pronunciation, grammar range and fluency are very good, almost flawless, the feedback at the end of the video shows that perfectly. But in all due respect, with the lexical resources that she demonstrates, getting a band 8.5 is rather impossible, maybe the judges have been going easy on the marking I don't know. I've taken the test not so long ago, I used the same range of vocabularies as she does here and got a 7 for lexical resources (I got an 8 in pronunciation and grammar, 7 in fluency) and I got an overall 7.5 in Speaking. I think the best score that she can get is 8.0 (not likely), nowhere near 8.5 in my opinion.

8.5 is too high. There is no idiom at all. I would say 7-7.5
I didn't use a single idiom and got 8.5. Those are not necessary at all.
She has got a conventional strict mom🤣like me.
In my opinion, this isn't enough to get 8.5 in some cases
Such as she only talked 1 minute and 10 seconds which may lead to lower score and also there is no eye contact
But overall her performance is just good

I cannot imagine her score would be 8.5. You must be honest with the candidate and audience. In the real IELTS exam the examiner never gives such a score. Something went wrong.

Her answers were too short so there needed to be lots of following questions. And most of her sentences were too simple and didn't use different patterns. I don't think she deserve ban 8.5 . band 7 or 7.5 is enough for her.
Everything is good,but she did not make an any eye contact with examiner in part 2

She's fluent in English, that's for sure. Maybe a little grammatical errors here and there. But it doesn't seem natural. I wouldn't give 8.5.
I'd say her level is the same as mine. Howerver, i only got 6.5. So i think her score should be 6.5-7.5? It's hard to believe this is 8.5

Basically I will give answers that both certain group of young and old people likely to make complain not relevant to their age but their attitude, jealousy, narrow minded person, low EQ person likely made more complain then others
Guys as a native English IELTS teacher of 8-9 years now and having taught the full gamut of ability levels, trust me when I say this young lady would achieve somewhere in the range of 7.0, if we are being generous. Remember this is a mock up for cameras and also that the channel makers will inflate scores to get clicks. Even the examiner would struggle to get an 8!
Edit...now having looked at the comments it really is bad to inflate scores like this, all its done is confuse the viewers on the channel or even anger them. Counter-productive.

After watching a bunch of these videos, I would agree with your assessment. I also thought she should have received a score of around 7. Indeed this false scoring seems counter-productive or even a bit deceiving, giving language learners a false indication of what would be expected from them to reach this high level. I don't know if it's true that videos showing someone getting a high score gets them more clicks than someone getting a lower score. Personally I feel you would probably learn more from the mistakes of others rather than just seeing 'perfect' performances.
EDIT: Looking at the scores in the thumbnails of other videos and how many views they have, I can't say there's any correlation between higher scores and more views. There are plenty of videos of people getting a low or medium score that do have many views. There are also people with high scores not getting as many views. But of course there are also videos with people getting a high score that did attract many viewers. There's no clear pattern as far as I can see though.
Yes she deserves only 6.5. It is impossible to score 8.5 because she used actually several time and in 2nd part she seems to reading a script rather than naturally expressing her opinion.
That's for sure 8.5. I was speaking at the same level on my IELTS exam, and I scored 8.5 as well
