Elise ~ what a wonderful recap of the Crochet Business Summit!!! Keep bringing more love and joy into our world through your wonderful works of art created with yarn! Thanks for sharing this awesome video!!!
That's good advice, business or no business! I'm married to a man that worked retail in every aspect from customer service to business manager and even started a business -actually a couple businesses - and in trying to help him, i learned i could never work in retail. I have great admiration for anyone having/running a businees and thank you for doing this viseo. I'm a nurse (retired after 40+ years) and learned early on i don't have the patience for business. Thanks for sharing. Love your channel. ❤❤
People are rolling their eyes when I say that I would love to have a crochet business. Like there is no way to make money with that. So it amazed me that there is a summit for crochet businesses in the US. Love everything about this video!❤
Hi Elise. I can’t believe one of my favorite TH-camrs was in my hometown. When I heard that you came to Aurora, Colorado I could not stop smiling. I hope you had an amazing conference and got to see a little bit of beautiful Colorado.
Love this and the great advice!! I definitely feel like I have been stretching myself thin trying to do “all the things.” This is a great reminder! I hope to attend next year!

I loved this video, so many interesting points! So true how everyone builds their business differently. Mine is influenced by my former work as a digital media teacher and the years of living in various countries as well as by the fact that I'm 2 years off my lowest retirement time! Will be both on a pension and continue to work. As for community, I'm glad to be part of a very active online group of European/UK crochet business owners. Although I would love to be in a group of more crochet youtubers as well because that is my clear number one. So glad that the conference gave you renewed excitement about your business! 😊 Oh, and I LOVE the gingham dress you had on one of the days! 🤩
What a wonderful and inspiring video, Elise! Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Makes me want to join the in-person event next year. Would love to meet you and the other fabulous crochet business owners in person. Especially appreciate that we are fellow former homeschooling mamas!
I just love Helen! She and I actually used to work together at Sunflower. I started it and quickly had her join me and for 3 years, we worked together. She then bought me out because I'm in the US and she's in the UK and while we're still good friends, we both had different directions we wanted to go. So this worked out for both of us. She really put a LOT of work into Sunflower and she did do a lot of collaborations that just ran her into the ground, mentally and I'm glad she was able to climb out of that and move forward. Many of the patterns and tutorials are ones that I did that are now her property, but I still enjoy seeing them and seeing her new stuff. My direction was to move into dyeing yarn in addition to crochet patterns. I also wanted to move into knitting and amigurumi. So the name Sunflower Cottage Crochet was because I'm in Kansas, so I wanted to represent. Now, I have Wheat State Wool Co. Also a Kansas reference. I nearly went to the summit this year, but just couldn't get the funds together in time. I was hoping to see Helen and am totally bummed I couldn't. I'm glad you got a lot from Pam. I've been a member of the CBA for a few years, now. I don't know why, but I am taking my sweet time going through it all. Until recently, I've had a hard time focusing. So maybe now I can finish it up and really take my business to the next step. Thank you for sharing your experience with this summit. I definitely want to go next year.
Ohhhh my, I'm so happy for you! I know it was amazing to be there, but the most awesome thing is that you get to share that wonderful experience with us ❤!!! Thank you so much for what you bring us, I learn so much from you, and for that, I'm very grateful... I appreciate you so much. Once again, THANK YOU🌹♥️!!!

This was fabulous, Elise! Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I needed this today and not for a reason you might think. I’m getting ready to go on a weeks trip to Venice, Italy . We leave on Friday and I’m so nervous for the same reason you mentioned. I have the prep anxiety. I know I’ll be great when I get on the plane … but right now? Ugh knots 🤪 I think i mentioned before that I was an illustrator for children’s publishing before covid and the pivot to crochet TH-cam . At that time , I was wanting to start sketch traveling as a hobby. Well here we are 4 years later and I’m finally doing it. I’m taking a class with an artist I really love. I am bringing a crochet hook just in case I find the yarn store I googled but really this is to get lost in the environment and draw. MIKE was there?!? How wonderful! I have connected with Mike off and on over the years (I'm an online business coach for conscious mentors / teachers / coaches / healers) and he is just wonderful. I know several of the people featured in his books. He is a gem.
So I have wanted to have a yarn business for a while but I have issues with mathematics where if something doesn't click, it'll never click. I have been trying to make knee high socks for a year and cannot figure out how to modify the pattern to fit me perfectly or how to adjust the sizing. I would love to create original designs as I am usually creative but this has been a tough hurdle after a tough situation I recently got out of. Stress was causing burnout and depression but now I am dealing with memory fog and artistic burnout. Being also autistic with adhd. I want to improve but I am better as a physical learner with repetition. Thank you and have a wonderful day!!
I think its normal to go through phases in our business... the ebb and flow... glad to hear you have exciting inspiration! I think it is so fun that everyone can build businesses in the crochet niche where there is virtually no competition because each journey is so unique. Thanks for the pep talk. (I was going to say thanks for cheering us all on) and you said the word cheer at that moment😊. Love this video Elise. There is so much good advice. ❤
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! You are so right, everyone is doing their own unique thing that it doesn't feel competitive! Good luck in your business!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for this! I really needed to hear it. I am working towards opening my own crochet business. But the last couple days I’ve been hearing a lot of negative things that were making me feel like it wouldn’t be possible and that I can’t do it. Hearing you say all these inspiring things and telling us that we can do it makes me feel a lot better. 🖤 So thank you because I really needed to hear some uplifting words to remind me not to focus on the negative and instead focus on the fact that I can do it!
Try not to let the negativity in. I'm proof that if I can do it, anyone can. I was in a room full of women making their dreams come true. You can do it too. 🙌
Thank you so much! This really helped me as I’m struggling to find my niche to really get things off the ground. Can’t wait to go to some conferences like this with fellow crochet enthusiasts one day! Love watching you here!
Lol I had to laugh when you were talking about the dryness cause I live in Denver. I moved here from the Ozarks nearly 13 years ago and my skin has been dry ever since no matter what I do. 😂 I'm glad you had such a great time!
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for sharing your experience at the summit and especially your enthusiasm for your business! It’s like a marriage sometimes……you need a get away to focus and reconnect in new ways. I live here in the Denver area. Growing up and living in Kansas for many years, I really notice the arid climate here for sure! My skin does not like it! One of my sons loves in Greenville SC. He loves NC and SC.
I'm so behind on videos but I loved this one! What an experience you had. I wish I was still in Colorado, I would've joined in a heartbeat! I also love Jen Hayes, she's the best! hehe
Awww! Thank you, Nicki!! I learned so much from your workshop and admire how you've built such a successful business! ❤️ I still don't know how you have so much energy!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Hi Elise, I really enjoyed your video, and appreciate you sharing your experiences. We are so much a like 😂. I’ve really only been crocheting for a few years but since retiring I now have more time. I would love to create my own patterns. I like that you have been able to reach such a large audience. Keep up the good work.
I know the US is big but that just blows my mind how far away the summit was from you - from the very northern top of the Scottish highlands the the very end of the southern coast is 600 miles!!! The largest width of the uk is 300 miles! We can at a push drive the whole country in a day
This is so so awesome. You just popped into my feed and I'm so so happy you did. I've been feeling stuck in my own business and cringe even saying business atm b/c I don't even feel like I have one. But in the past it was starting to take off and then I abandoned it ( and as I type I'm having some ah-ha realizations within that!) But it was your stop scrolling start crocheting video that appeared and I'm SO glad it did. Thanks for sharing your experience at the summit and take aways and now I'm gonna binge your channel while I crochet and get excited once again!!😂🎉❤🙏🏽
This looks super cool, thanks for sharing with us. I am a brand new crocheter, would love to create a small business one day but I live with severe chronic pain (after two failed back surgeries) and had to medically retire from my career as a nurse when I was only 29. Nearly nine years later now and am in even worse shape, but disability pay isn’t fantastic especially with how much cost of living has risen in the last few years. Being able to supplement with even being able to sell a few Amigurumi would be amazing, but I also am quite socially isolated so it’s probably not even a realistic thought. I really enjoy your channel though!
I'm so sorry to hear of your back problems. It sounds very painful. There are many different ways to make money from crocheting that don't require selling physical items! It's a whole new world out there!! Best wishes for you! ❤️❤️❤️
@@EliseRoseCrochet Aw thank you so much! It’s hard not to give up and give in to the suicidal thoughts, so crochet provides a nice distraction. I have cross stitched since I was 7 or 8 (so 30 years now) but only just learned to crochet even though my mom has been an avid crocheter and knitter since before I was born. I had tried a couple times but never quite got the hang of it. I’m still a very beginner for non-Amigurumi items like this shawl she helped me start. 😂
The No thing does not just apply to business but also to people close to you, it can become very difficult to say no to friends and family especially if they say they love your work but if they care they will accept it.
Thank you for sharing this with us! I love your looks. I also have a rough time sleeping somewhere new, so I'm going to suggest (if you haven't already tried it) a white noise app. There are some free ones on your phone and it helps stop my brain from playing 'what's that sound?!?!' every two minutes.
Elise! Great video. You captured the overall feelings there so well. And seriously, your outfits were always so cute and on point. I'm almost in tears again remembering just how good it all was. So many great connections and quality information. I have to say that meeting you in person was one of my major highlights too. 😘 Definitely going in 2025! 🎉🎉🎉
WOAH You met Mike from Profit First ?! Did you geek out? So cool. The entire summit looks incredible, thank you for vlogging it and I really enjoyed your sit down takeaways. I totally want to go next year. Much needed encouragement.
Omg what a fantastic time u had and u look and sound so inspired ! Sad that u were feeling like u had no direction and spark for the past 6mths, because your videos definitely did not indicate that at all. I always look fantastic, u have a great sense of style.❤ But how did u get such fantastic hair and skin !? U look so young and your skin is perfect ! Plus combined with your personality, it makes youtube channel just the best !!! U have an ability the spread joy and engage people and that's y I look forward to your video every week ! Love and prayers 💗💗💗🙏🙏🙏🧶🧶🧶
I’m happy you had a good time and you were able to meet other creators. I was taken aback by the website by the incredibly bad AI art displayed. I would hope that someone who supports creators would pay for their art. Also, their FAQ doesn’t dissuade that you will be “sold to the entire time.” That kind of thing makes me way and feels less like a means to lift others up and moreso filling their pockets with generic business advice. Good luck with your newly fueled inspiration!
We weren't sold to at all! I came away feeling uplifted and supported in my crochet business endeavors and imagine that many others did too! Pam does so much for the crochet business community. 😊
I have been trying to figure out how to do the CBA! I keep delaying on signing up because I don’t know if it’s just a 1 year commitment then done, or on going. And what will I do in that one year? I’d love any feedback you have to help me take the leap!
“When you’re looking at a map” *sees a map and realises it’s Friesland* This is like less than 40 miles from where I live…wasn’t expecting that 😂 I like your videos, keep up the good work!!
That's called blocking and it helps to even out the edges and finish the square nicely. Since everyone was making squares with different yarn they all needed to be exactly the same size so blocking can help with that! Good question! 🧶🧶🧶
Hi im nine\9 and i crocheit its my hobby and i have a tecnichley a bisiness and i sell crocheit things in my school with my best friend victoria we are dooing pretty well so far~ kendra ❤❤❤
Living in south east europe, people look at me like i sprouted horns when i tell them i want to start a crochet buisness. Unfortunately i can't sell crochet items here, i would have to sell them for way too cheap to find customers (people here aren't into handmade that much in my opinion), so pattern designing and creating a yt channel is my go-to plan. I absolutely love crocheting, especially amigurumi, it is the thing i enjoy doing the most, and since i made a promise to myself when i was just a kid to only make a living with something i love, the fact that i can do just that with crochet blows my mind to this day. The more i watch and listen to crochet business owners talk about their success online, the more inspired i become! Everything you shared in this video helped me so much❤️❤️

I couldn't believe how dry the air is!!! But we did have a great time! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you!! Yes, it is like a marriage! And I couldn't get over the dryness! Two days after I came home my face started peeling!!!!! 🤪
0:28 oh honey, you are not the only one who does that!!😂 I also do that, but I OVERTHINK things and bring EVERYTHING but the kitchen sink 😂!!
Lol!! You should have seen the size of my suitcase!!! 🤣🤣🤣
@@EliseRoseCrochet 🤣 😂🤣
I'm so behind on videos but I loved this one! What an experience you had. I wish I was still in Colorado, I would've joined in a heartbeat! I also love Jen Hayes, she's the best! hehe
I would love to see a vide where you talk about your skincare and beauty routine. Your skin is amazing!
Lol! I promise it's my camera! I don't have great skin in real life. ❤️❤️❤️
Omg! You are making me cry!!! Thank you for the feature! ❤❤❤
I can’t wait to see you next week again! I need to chat with you more! ❤❤❤
Awww! Thank you, Nicki!! I learned so much from your workshop and admire how you've built such a successful business! ❤️ I still don't know how you have so much energy!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Great opportunity for a meeting of the minds!
It definitely was! 😊
Thank you so much!! ❤️❤️❤️
lol. You are so cute 💕. I’m a knitter but I really enjoy watching your videos.
Thank you so much!! ❤️
I know the US is big but that just blows my mind how far away the summit was from you - from the very northern top of the Scottish highlands the the very end of the southern coast is 600 miles!!! The largest width of the uk is 300 miles! We can at a push drive the whole country in a day
That is crazy!!! I just looked it up and from where I live in North Carolina to Denver is a 24 hour drive. 😳
@@EliseRoseCrochet crazy isn’t it. Not even 24 hour drive for us either. I do like living in a small country to be fair though 😂
Loved this video! I had hoped to make it in person this year but couldn't unfortunately (absolutely gutted!) but my goal is to make it in 2025 😀
That would be amazing to meet you in person! So glad you enjoyed the video! ❤️❤️❤️
@@EliseRoseCrochet be careful what you wish for! I'm incredibly awkward and weird in person 😅
@HookedbyRobin meeeee toooooo!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great advice love all you share thank you
Thank you so much! ❤️
Thank you so so so much ❤
You're so welcome 😊
So encouraging! 😊🧶
I'm so glad! ❤️❤️❤️
The No thing does not just apply to business but also to people close to you, it can become very difficult to say no to friends and family especially if they say they love your work but if they care they will accept it.
So true! ❤️
That is such a good idea! Thank you!! I am going on a trip next week and I am going to try this! ❤️❤️❤️
@@EliseRoseCrochet I hope it helps!
Yay!!! I just wish we lived close enough to get together more often!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@EliseRoseCrochet Maybe someday! 😉 Have a great time at h+h!
Be safe and stay calm🧶🧶
Thanks! 😊
WOAH You met Mike from Profit First ?! Did you geek out? So cool. The entire summit looks incredible, thank you for vlogging it and I really enjoyed your sit down takeaways. I totally want to go next year. Much needed encouragement.
Yes!!!!!! He was the keynote speaker!! He is so funny in person!! 🤣
Awww! Thank you so very much!! I think we all go through times when we don't feel inspired but we keep going! ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching! ❤️
I admire you so much.
Awww, thank you! ❤️
I live in Arvada Colorado
Just looked that up on the map! You were super close! ❤️❤️❤️
Loved this video!! And you are so cute!! 😊🩷
Haha! Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
I would reach out to them to get those questions answered! I know they have live seminars from time to time to answer all those questions! ❤️
“When you’re looking at a map” *sees a map and realises it’s Friesland* This is like less than 40 miles from where I live…wasn’t expecting that 😂 I like your videos, keep up the good work!!
Thank you! ❤️
Why do u pin your granny square to the board?
That's called blocking and it helps to even out the edges and finish the square nicely. Since everyone was making squares with different yarn they all needed to be exactly the same size so blocking can help with that! Good question! 🧶🧶🧶
Thanks for the explanation! I have never done that before.
❤❤❤❤
😊😊😊

Hi im nine\9 and i crocheit its my hobby and i have a tecnichley a bisiness and i sell crocheit things in my school with my best friend victoria we are dooing pretty well so far~ kendra ❤❤❤
That is awesome, Kendra!!! 👏👏👏
why did you say ben?? 12:48
Lol! I didn't realize I did! My son's name is Ben! 😊
I love both crocheting and knitting but i often get bullied for being a boy crocheter or knitter😢😢
That's awful! I know several men who crochet, knit and design! They are incredible! 🧶🧶🧶
Please try and ignore them. I know that's easier said than done, but you just keep on doing what you want that makes you happy ❤
A saying that helped me -Those that matter don't mind and those that mind don't matter." Maybe that can help you, too. ❤
Love this!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Such good advice! ❤️
I'm in CBA and I feel like such an outsider 😕.
Awww, I'm so sorry. Keep putting yourself out there! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I felt like that for a long time in the crochet world in general! ❤️
I’m 15 minutes late 😢
You're not late!! Glad you're here! ❤
You just missed the snow!😂
That's what I heard!!! I would have loved to have seen snow! ❄️
Everything you shared in this video helped me so much❤️❤️
You can do it! 🙌 I still can't believe that I'm able to do this and get paid to do it! ❤️
