- A day out in my bagged 1973 Lada Zhiguli 2101, and photoshoot with Josh Garcia from Revival Motoring Magazine.
Just a quick, thrown together vlog of the day to get some content moving. Will be refining this process as it moves forward.

I thought it was gonna be like from Ukraine or sum, but no its from my home country
I can't believe that I actually come to like the way these car aged. My grandfather bought one brand new in 1974 and we had it in the family till we turn it for scrap in 1998. I kept the seats and was thinking to turn them into reclining chairs but never had the chance to do it. Right wheels and Stace and voala, awesome looking classic vehicle. Great job!!!

Did I hear Concord, NH? Originally from Manchester, NH. We have lived in Ecuador for 10 years and own a 1980, 64K original mile Zhiguli. First year imported to Ecuador. The early 2101's are awesome

The engine is beast even when it is 1.2l, people tend to put 4 carburetors on it and race it to the hill, so you can do a sleeper easy. Some guys supercharge/turbocharged it but it is hard!
I wonder which carburators? Original one? I would like to install the same.

Man this was technically my first car someone gave me an estate version at 14 used to sneak out at night with my friends till my parents caught me and sold the thing on for the American equivalent of 100 bucks. 😆
Where I come from they go as low as 500$ to 1500 in excellent shape. Planning to buy one for 500$ lower it remove bumpers and change seats. Ofcourse rims would be somewhere around 15".

Yes I agree! I like the AutoVAZ design differences more than the original Fiat design, as well!
Lada, Vaz, or Zhigul is just a few names for this car. Production name would be Vaz. Its actually a good car from Soviet era. A lot of them still run these days in Eastern EU, Cuba, and other communist countries. Its a good rally car, easy modifiable.

I Love To See This Car Because When IW as 14 Years Old, Me ANd My Friend We Stole Exacly As Your Car, We Stole It From Pretty Big Rapper In Our Country, Correction (From Ther Rappers Brother) And We Drove All Night Around The City, Then The Second Time I Encountered The Kopeika - 2101 Was When My Friend Bought It For 75 Euros, It Ran And Everything, The Technical Sticker Was Yelow From 1997, But At The Year When He Bought The Sticker Was Yellow To So Cops Just Looked At The Sticker, Seen That Ist Yellow And Drove Off :D They Dint Realise That Its From 1997 :D
So We Crashed That car In A Commy Block House.
Oh, The First One I Stole We Crashed To, It Was A High Speed Crash... It Was A Mirracle That I Surrvived, I Would Want To Tell This Story In Some Video So People Would Know All The Details, The Story Is EPICAND UNBELIEVABLE !:D

More than 4.7 million of this shit was stamped at the plant from 1970 to 1988. Until now, in Russia can be found in the provinces. This copy is in good condition, nevertheless - my compliments to the author.

Quality video man, don't think they want to be much longer than 10 minutes so this is good, plus I think if you're filming something you should be talking over the top of it but that's just my 2 cents

Who did you use to import ? Trying to bring one over to CANADA
I used Hill Shipping out of the UK, but did the paperwork and all other legwork myself. It wasn’t a terrible process!

You can`t Say Lada, Žiguļ And VAZ At The Same Sentence If You Are Not Explaining The Diference Between Each.
VAZ 2101 Or In The Country Called Žiguļ, Your Exact Model Was Called KOPEIKA Because Its The First Model So Its Number 1, Just Like 1 Kopeika Hens The Name Kopeika.
YOU Got The Real VAZ, Not The LADA, There Are Diferences, But IDK If I Shall Tell You Them, Ha HA. :D They Are SUPER SUTTLE ! But IYKYK

Hey John, its all good but...man! Remove that ugly speedo! You have a 1973 pure 2101 and they came with a different early shiny speedo. Its basically exactly the same but 1. Original to the car you got 2. 10 times cooler looking. I am sure you will thank me every time you look at the new/old speedo...
Yes I wanted to get the original speedo while I had the car! But I sold the car at the end of 2018, unfortunately!
@@JohnLudwick It is sad...not because you parted with it but because I had a look at your insta and saw the picture of you and your grandpa. It is quite the thing for me because I did buy a 9k km 2103 in the same red color back in 2016 and the last ride I had with my grandma was also in it. Miss the old people and the memories... Anyway - I cant help but wonder what you would have done to a 2103 :D All the best for the future projects!

Why does anyone want a Lada .?….. it a French Mia fiori. Body . Sold to Russia by the French. The just increased the diameter of the car body and made it heavy. Get a Mia fiori. There more refined 🇬🇧🥇🧐🍻
