Making Marquee lights to rent for events. Using your video as a tool. Thanks for posting! Great Work!!
Hey Derek! I like coming back to your videos every now and then to see what you can do. This is amazing!
I love it! Hang on everyone has already used that line......What's not to love ;)
This is great! looks awesome! Want to make a sign for our rebuild gin truck. Just wandering what the measurements of your flashing is?
Very nice...Could you please add in the description what the materials are and where I can buy them
great video..
what gauge is the metal, and where do you get it like that? thanks
This is an AWESOME video!! Great work. We are definitely sharing on our social media!
Emmy Braxtly
How tall were the little blocks on the back?
Hey im in aw! If only youo was in the UK!!! I have sent you and email hope you dont mind?
:)
wow great work :D dumb question but... what are the double white electrical wires that you used to connect the sockets called??
Well they're not double white, there's a black and white. All the black wires connect together and all the white connect together.
Hey i had the same question but still not understanding, black wire connect together and white one connect together but i see an extension cord near the wire so trying to see how you used it.
What is that around your letter and where can I find it plz
Light bulb on the letter V isnt centered and that is catching my eye. Anyway looks awesome
Which bulb? The left upright of the V is 5.5in, and the right upright of the V is 4.5in. I lined all the bulbs up on the left with a straight edge then added three bulbs to the center of the right...maybe that's what you're seeing. Anyway, thanks.
Vytas as Thanks man! i was just trying to figure out if I had messed it up...i always try to listen to fans, and haters too i geuss haha
Great video. Was this a one day build?
I did this over two days. There were three projects going at once so after I sprayed the black I moved on to another project for the rest of the day. But yes this can easily be done in less than a day...
Very impressive what metal material did you use and what thickness is it? Thanks.
@@DerekConwayTX that was very very clever. Beats using wood and mitering all the corners.
What are the socket parts called and how do they not fall out? Other than when all the wires are hooked up in back.
What kind of lighting kit did you use
Here, i used individual sockets from H Depot. Then wired them all together behind the letters. Very expensive doing it that way, havent done that since
Whats the sheet metal strip called? Also where did you get it and does it come in that size? Thanks great vid!
@@DerekConwayTX thanks for the quick response! Would you recommend it for 4ft letters? Or should i stick to a wood edge instead of the flashing?
Larger letters/numbers should have 18ga or 16ga sheet metal. I have 5in strips cut from full sheets at my local metal shop
Making these for a client. Would I be able to spray paint the aluminum? She wants them white.
We are almost done with them. We ended up cutting the flashing in half bc I felt like 6” was too long but the back of the flashing is sharp. What can we use to make it safe to grab and setup? I’ll also be adding balloons across the top and sides of them once they’re setup so I dont want them to pop from the sharp edges.
Man you always light up my morning. Much love👍
Hahaha Thanks Rob!
