I so enjoy watching the two of you as you share your love and joy of cross stitch. It only takes a few fellow stitches get together once a month and become good friends. I meet once a month at a local library and there is only 6 of us, one is a man. We call ourselves the Library Stitchers. Their friendship and stitching love is golden. Just like Linnie and Roberta. Linnie, I watched both of those movies that you mentioned while I cross stitched. Enjoyed both of them immensely. Love to watch you ladies! First time I have heard of someone using spreadsheets on Flosstube. I love using spreadsheets to keep organized. I have one for floss with a tab for each company. Then next to the various colors, I will put the chart names for which the floss was purchased. Since I only have about a dozen WIPs, it is not too hard to check the spreadsheet to see where a specific floss is being used on a WIP. Helps me to keep organized. Happy New Year!

Well thank you ladies for helping me get so much stitchy related activities done while watching you in bits and pieces. I got floss bobbinated for a project I started New Year’s Eve, I made lunch while watching you and got some stitching done. I took all my It’s So Emma project journals (I just started journal #4) and put stickers on the numbers in the journals associated with finished projects. It’s very helpful when I want to “borrow” floss for another project rather than running to the store to pick something up. I also have learned to google a substitute for a DMC floss so I don’t have to go buy the one I don’t have. I did it at Michael’s tonight when they were out of a color I needed. So thanks for helping complete tasks that aren’t always things I like to do. I keep getting more organized as years go by. I made a concerted effort in 2023 as well as 2024 to make searching for patterns easier and also labeling my Amazon vinyl or plastic, or whatever they are, with project name and designer. I use chalkboard tape and a chalkboard marker that wipes clean so you can reuse the tape. I loved seeing all your projects. You make me feel better about everything I have sitting around. Linnie, I love your story at the end. Smart kiddo you have there. Roberta, when you come to visit your kids in San Diego and if you go to the cross stitch/quilt shop in San Marcos let me know. I would love to meet you in the “reals”. I live about an hour and a half north of there on the coast. The shop moved because the partnership broke up but I took a screenshot of their new address. I belong to The Southern CA Stitchers group and I believe whoever wants to can go stitch there the third and fourth Sat. of the month. I belong to the part of the group that meets in Orange County. Anyone is welcome though. I’ve never been to the shop but I would really like to check it out sometime. Happy New Year and again, thanks for sharing what you’ve been up to. As I look back on things that I stitched many years ago, I can’t imagine doing them now. I was monogamous for years so I only have 6 wips and can’t imagine too many more. I would get anxiety. I also quit them back in the day if I grew weary of them.

You have to make a trip to primitive gatherings! It's the most beautiful store I've ever seen and the way she has all the wool applique organized is amazing. It was so easy to find everything you wanted i spent wayyy more then I thought I would lol

Fun video. My husband taught me to use Reader's Digest to make those Christmas trees and then we would spray paint them green and put super tiny balls on them. That was back in 1970. We had just gotten married that June, so I was pretty impressed with my new husband. 😃Happy New Year!🎆

Hi Ruth. Yes, it was a long video so thank you for your persistence. We are not monetized and don't earn anything from our videos so that's frustrating, but I think it's a function of Google. I pay for a Premium subscription to TH-cam and don't see commercials on anyone's videos which is nice, but there is a cost for that.

I’ve been going through other things and de-kitting them as my tastes have changed and I really hadn’t made much of a start to begin with. Hi ladies! Love your videos - such diverse projects. I wanted to share my variation on the blessings sampler. I keep my New Year's Day free because I start and try to finish a small project that day. It's usually something smaller than 5" square. My goal is to start the year with a start and finish! If I don't finish that day, I only stitch on this project until finished. Great way to start the year! Happy New Year to both of you!
I love that version! I was watching videos about how to do WIPGO and Jessie keeps stressing that it's your WIPGO and you can do it however you want. I agree that a Blessing Sampler can also be whatever you want it to be!

@@linnieisenburg520 🥰 Part 2 will be fun. We all have some tiny new starts. Maybe ask viewers if there was something they learned this year. Newbies are in a rush to start a new piece, and don't measure properly with sufficient fabric allowance before cutting, have the fabric in the wrong direction (Landscape or Vertical) before beginning, don't secure the stitches on the back well enough... I've ended with a Pin Stitch, and could see them afterwards, so either I have great eyes for spotting things or I'm doing them wrong, haaaa See you next video, Happy New Year!!!
That's a good idea to ask viewers what they learned. Those are good tips about checking the fabric orientation before starting! I started one piece wrong this year but luckily realized it before I got much done.
@@Roberta.SABLEStitchers Maybe also ask stitchers what goofs, oops, mistakes they've made & learned not to do that again, even a "seasoned" stitcher -- In all my Years of stitching (since 1975) and frogging did I snip 1 thread of my Linen, until a week ago as the floss was so close in color to the overdyed fabric at the spot. 😳 After my colorful words, I was able to put a tiny drop of Aleene's tacky glue on the back, it worked. I thought, Hey, didn't Roberta do that once?! I was ready to grab a strand from the edge of my fabric allowance if I needed to re-weave it. But still, a shake my head moment.
I love watching you guys! Your videos are always a highlight of my day. Roberta, Feast Of Friendship, what color is the house? I really want to buy that pattern, but only want the specialty floss for the blue house. The rest I’ll use DMC. Thank you!
Since the house is three or four different colors you could probably use several shades of DMC to achieve the same look. I can't wait to get to the house!
I have to admit, I really enjoy getting these all out and remembering where I got them, when they were started, etc. Thank you for hanging out with us!
Linnie - I totally agree with you about the Sullivan needles - I love to stitch with them, but hate trying to remove a thread! Also, about your linen slub - there is a FT’er, called Count my Stitches who made a video about how to repair a slub in your linen - you might want to check her out. Oh, that's good to know Susan! I was just dealing with a slub yesterday and picked out some of the thread and was able to make it work. There is probably a better way to do this though!

I always feel like you both help me keep just a little bit connected to Kansas City. I miss meeting with my creative friends to quilt and stitch in Lawrence and KC. I think I took for granted all of the stores, retreats, and opportunities I had there and miss it quite a bit. Stitching along with you gives me a little bit of that home town feel back so thank you from the bottom of my heart! Well thank you ladies for helping me get so much stitchy related activities done while watching you in bits and pieces. I got floss bobbinated for a project I started New Year’s Eve, I made lunch while watching you and got some stitching done. I took all my It’s So Emma project journals (I just started journal #4) and put stickers on the numbers in the journals associated with finished projects. It’s very helpful when I want to “borrow” floss for another project rather than running to the store to pick something up. I also have learned to google a substitute for a DMC floss so I don’t have to go buy the one I don’t have. I did it at Michael’s tonight when they were out of a color I needed. So thanks for helping complete tasks that aren’t always things I like to do. I keep getting more organized as years go by. I made a concerted effort in 2023 as well as 2024 to make searching for patterns easier and also labeling my Amazon vinyl or plastic, or whatever they are, with project name and designer. I use chalkboard tape and a chalkboard marker that wipes clean so you can reuse the tape. I loved seeing all your projects. You make me feel better about everything I have sitting around. Linnie, I love your story at the end. Smart kiddo you have there. Roberta, when you come to visit your kids in San Diego and if you go to the cross stitch/quilt shop in San Marcos let me know. I would love to meet you in the “reals”. I live about an hour and a half north of there on the coast. The shop moved because the partnership broke up but I took a screenshot of their new address. I belong to The Southern CA Stitchers group and I believe whoever wants to can go stitch there the third and fourth Sat. of the month. I belong to the part of the group that meets in Orange County. Anyone is welcome though. I’ve never been to the shop but I would really like to check it out sometime. Happy New Year and again, thanks for sharing what you’ve been up to. As I look back on things that I stitched many years ago, I can’t imagine doing them now. I was monogamous for years so I only have 6 wips and can’t imagine too many more. I would get anxiety. I also quit them back in the day if I grew weary of them.
The biggest thing I did back in the day was one of those Country Crafts stockings. They were full coverage so they were very time consuming!

I always love seeing you guys and hearing what you've been up to . Your projects are all so beautiful. Looking forward to the old year coming to a close and the new one beginning. Last year I did 12 in 12, and I had trouble doing one project every hour, so this year I'm going to do six new starts for 2 hours each. Not so stressful for me. Fun video. My husband taught me to use Reader's Digest to make those Christmas trees and then we would spray paint them green and put super tiny balls on them. That was back in 1970. We had just gotten married that June, so I was pretty impressed with my new husband. 😃Happy New Year!🎆

Hi Ruth. Yes, it was a long video so thank you for your persistence. We are not monetized and don't earn anything from our videos so that's frustrating, but I think it's a function of Google. I pay for a Premium subscription to TH-cam and don't see commercials on anyone's videos which is nice, but there is a cost for that.

Hi ladies! Love your videos - such diverse projects. I wanted to share my variation on the blessings sampler. I keep my New Year's Day free because I start and try to finish a small project that day. It's usually something smaller than 5" square. My goal is to start the year with a start and finish! If I don't finish that day, I only stitch on this project until finished. Great way to start the year! Happy New Year to both of you!
I love that version! I was watching videos about how to do WIPGO and Jessie keeps stressing that it's your WIPGO and you can do it however you want. I agree that a Blessing Sampler can also be whatever you want it to be!

@@linnieisenburg520 🥰 Part 2 will be fun. We all have some tiny new starts. Maybe ask viewers if there was something they learned this year. Newbies are in a rush to start a new piece, and don't measure properly with sufficient fabric allowance before cutting, have the fabric in the wrong direction (Landscape or Vertical) before beginning, don't secure the stitches on the back well enough... I've ended with a Pin Stitch, and could see them afterwards, so either I have great eyes for spotting things or I'm doing them wrong, haaaa See you next video, Happy New Year!!!
That's a good idea to ask viewers what they learned. Those are good tips about checking the fabric orientation before starting! I started one piece wrong this year but luckily realized it before I got much done.
@@Roberta.SABLEStitchers Maybe also ask stitchers what goofs, oops, mistakes they've made & learned not to do that again, even a "seasoned" stitcher -- In all my Years of stitching (since 1975) and frogging did I snip 1 thread of my Linen, until a week ago as the floss was so close in color to the overdyed fabric at the spot. 😳 After my colorful words, I was able to put a tiny drop of Aleene's tacky glue on the back, it worked. I thought, Hey, didn't Roberta do that once?! I was ready to grab a strand from the edge of my fabric allowance if I needed to re-weave it. But still, a shake my head moment.

Happy new year Darlene. The house is uses three Gentle Hearts floss. Blue Corn, Uniform Blue and Tin Bucket. It turn out beautiful ❤😊

Since the house is three or four different colors you could probably use several shades of DMC to achieve the same look. I can't wait to get to the house!

Linnie - I totally agree with you about the Sullivan needles - I love to stitch with them, but hate trying to remove a thread! Also, about your linen slub - there is a FT’er, called Count my Stitches who made a video about how to repair a slub in your linen - you might want to check her out. Thanks to you both for some great post Christmas entertainment ! Keep ‘em comin’!
Oh, that's good to know Susan! I was just dealing with a slub yesterday and picked out some of the thread and was able to make it work. There is probably a better way to do this though!
Try adding an emulsifier, to your chocolate next time. Honey is one.
