    Hi. I wanted to thank you for making me a better rabbit owner. I used to have five bunnies. I know a lot. I recently had to get rid of four because it was to much for me to handle with my horse and all my other pets. Now my bunny Paris is spoiled rotten. He loves your DIY toys. I make them all the time for him. I thank you AGAIN for making me a better rabbit/bunny care taker.
    Sincerely,

    does anybody have any tips for handling a small rabbit that is very fidgety and often freaks out when I hold her? sometimes when I hold my rabbit Hazel she starts running up my shoulder and begins moving her feet really fast. it can be difficult to control when this happens and I'm afraid she could fall and hurt herself. thank you 😄

      Rabbits do not like being held which is why your rabbit is squirming. Try to not pick up your rabbit unless you have to

      +101rabbits Thx for the ways to hold a rabbit. my class mates hold our pet bunny by the ears and when they do that the bunny screams and its so terrified.

    • @regand9658
      @regand9658 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Abby G Try holding your rabbit at least once a day for a short amount of time and see if it gets used to being handled. Rabbits are ground-dwelling animals and don't liked to be picked up. Be sure to secure your rabbit properly so that it feels more comfortable wit you holding it. This will take time, but just be sure to be consistent. The more time you spend with the rabbit the easier it is on you and your rabbit. Hope this helped. :)

      Most bunnies do not like being picked up but not all. Some bunnies enjoy being snuggled but these bunnies have most likely been socialized at a young age. It all depends on the bun but id say about 85% of buns do not like being picked up or have learned to tolerate it

    • @evieleigh1345
      @evieleigh1345 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Some rabbits will tolerate it, but it reminds them of being picked up/carried off by a predator. Could break some trust,but if they like it then you are extremely lucky and yeah, you can do it.

      It's quite easy. Grab some pet nail clippers and gently pull the fur back away from the nails. From here, chop them gently but do NOT cut the red bit. It is where blood is stored, puts your rabbit in pain AND could even cause them to bleed! For more info on how to trim a rabbits nails, yeah, I'm pretty sure that this channel does have info on it.

    When I had a rabbit we picked it up every single day to get it out of her cage so she can run around outside it. But that rabbit was also a very cuddly rabbit. She loved to be petted by someones foot and she just stayed there for hours, I literally mean hours which is why we used our foot. If I played videogames she was below being petted. She was a strange, but lovely rabbit.

    My rabbit won't let me pick it up especially when I really need to. For example, I open her cage and let her out for a while, then I can never get her back in. We also cut her claws today and she is starting to be even more scared of humans than ever. I got a scar from my bunny trying to put her back in her cage. I need help! I always have to put her back whenever I take her out, so I try not to take her out a lot until I find out how. HELp!

    Thank you for this video! I agree with how you pick up your rabbit, hold it, and how you set it down. The only thing I would disagree with is holding it a couple times a week. For some rabbits, it is really hard to hold them, so that would be fine to hold them not as much. But, with my lionhead rabbit, he loves to hop onto my lap and play with me. I would say that after having your rabbit for a month or two and trying to hold it every day, and it still hates you, then you should try to hold him maybe every other day. That's just my opinion. How would anyone recommend holding a giant? I only pick them up when absolutely necessary of course, but you know how it goes. They are 17 and 20 lbs, and luckily I am 5'11" so they do fit on my chest--barely. I only seem to be able to carry them with their head by my shoulder, but I also don't like this way.

    101rabbits or anybody with rabbit knowledge,
    I have to give away my little guy because he is "untamable" I guess. He cuts and scratches me when I try to even give him water and I know rabbits don't like hands into the cage but I have the water bowl at the corner so I don't have to reach to it for him to cut me, but he always finds a way. 101rabbits, I have always watched your videos and have been inspired by the way they love you and you love them. I even spent time with him when I first got him, I did everything you said! I guess what I am trying to say is what rabbit should I get that is ok to be outside because I have MAJOR allergies of rabbits but I have a very protected cage though, but I want one calmer and more of a "nice" I guess sort of breed. I really love shadoa but I have A LOT of cuts on my arms and legs so I have no choice, for my heath. So I really need your help and one more question, does it hurt the bonding if the rabbit is outside because mine is and I was just wondering before I got another rabbit to "replace him" if that was the issue.
    Thanks and please answer,
    RandomGirl2004Blue

      Sometimes animals can know that you have fears about things. I bet you give off a fear of getting hurt from them or a bad allergic reaction. You may not realize it but the bunny does. If you are that allergic, you shouldn't have a rabbit. Keeping a bunny outside, is cruel in my opinion. Stuck in a cage out in the elements... I know wild bunnies are outdoor, but they are able to go wherever they want. Not stuck in a small hutch.

    When I got my rabbit Luna she seemed so nice. The picked her up and she didn't even care. So we adopted her. Now when I try to touch her she lunges at me and scratches and bites. What do I do?

    Hi, I just got a new rabbit so that mine wouldn't be lonely when I'm not home as much, but i'm a bit confused by their behaviors. I read that if both rabbits can lay next to each other, bath each other, and eat together, that they are pretty much bonded. However, there's also been a lot of chasing (NO biting or scratching) just one runs up to the other and the other runs as if they were scared, and then suddenly will lay next to each other again and be calm. Is the chasing a bad sign? if so, why does it seem like they do bond at times? BTW, they are both females. Please give me tips =)

      @reganparrish986 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a rabbit also and have had experience with 2 bonded rabbits, the chasing is probably just a game, my old rabbits would always chase each other as a game and not to be mean, but I am not a professional so if I were you I would probably consult another person just to be sure

      Erin Epps I'm not sure but at first when my rabbits were really new to comfort them I'd give them their favourite treat (rabbit nuggets) and they usually wouldn't squirm if I petted/brushed them

    I'm thinking of getting a rabbit. I'm aware I have to take care of them but is there anything that I should do before I go to school for the day? Like should I fill up their water or food?

    • @Kiwi-gc4yt
      @Kiwi-gc4yt 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Julianne Szczepanski you should Put more hay in the place where you put the hay. the way I mesure the hay is that I put in a pile of hay that's bigger than my rabbits body

    And I don't like to pick her up because one time I picked her up when I first got her and all I got was a huge scratch from my shoulder to the other one how do I prevent this from happening? And I take my bunny around my house on a lead for exercise and my cat can kill in a second so I'm always scared but the bunny told the cat who's boss Phoebe the bunny!

I've had her for about 4 weeks, and I just can't seem to pick her up without her being really squirmy. And I feel terrible because I'm just trying to get her out of her cage to exercise but she just want let me pick her up >:0 Any tips?

    It looks so easy, but mine won't let me. I don't know what happened before I got her that makes her so scared, but it's very hard to clip her nails this way. I even have scars from trying to pick her up so I will just let the vet take care of it now. :P

    When I was in High School I had a weird rabbit. She LOVED to be picked up. When I opened her cage she'd go to the door and turn around so I could pick her up. She'd also rest on my chest as I watched TV. I should probably point out she was also the LAZIEST creature I ever laid eyes on. LOL (She was a good girl though)

    • @BobbyHobby10
      @BobbyHobby10 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Savage EquineXD if you mean the rabbit it’s on the back, they often really scared in that pose but if he’s licking/ giving you kisses in that form then that’s no problem. Many mistake rabbit being calmed on the back when they often go into shock, trance and really scared. Some signs will often show if they are scared, can he move normal and flip back if he want, eating a treat and giving kisses then the rabbit aren’t stressed ( I use it to see if my rabbit it’s scared or not). If he aren’t on his back that’s no problem.
