    About 10 days ago I went to the shoppe and picked up my 3rd pair of John Lobb’s.
    Great video, it captures the shoppe the best a video can. It’s a delightful experience, thank you for sharing this so others can get a feel of what going there is like.

    My brother, who retired in 1998 having been with the Company for 48 years, was a shoemaker with John Lobb.
    So looking forward to the video showing the work of a bespoke shoemaker.

      @@blackwood3243 In Spanish, I'd use the word "reloj" to mean watch and clock, and the word for "on" a wall is "en", which also means "in".
      I think this person's comment was poorly translated, which is infuriating.

    My great grandpa was a cobbler, I started making shoes as a hobby because of Kirby’s videos as well as that familial connection to the craft. But it really was Kirby’s videos that got me interested. I went down the rabbit hole with the full traditional method.. it takes a lot of tools and hunting around for hard to find materials. I love every part of it, from making the resin/beeswax/tallow balls that coat the handmade welting thread, to using all the irons and finishing steps to get a glassy heel stack. I’m still an amateur but I’m well on my way to cladding my whole family in bespoke fitted shoes. It truly is fulfilling, and all too rare these days! Cheers Kirby!

      @@kirbyallisonKirby is excited. No one has ever had this privilege before to be able to film and interview the entire John Lobb process. I understand why they are slowly getting irritated because their routine is being interrupted for an extensive, long drawn out interview, but they agreed to it. So while it's happening, be as detailed as possible so every viewer can understand. Even the ones who are watching for the 1st time. Even though we may know all of these steps, some parts of their process are new to us all. I think he's creating great content of an historic moment in time.

    • @mklelito74
      @mklelito74 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      I think some of you are missing the whole point of an "interview". He's drawing out the detail of each step, which is what you want from a great interview and leading the conversation to deliver the content. I don't understand why people are always going to effort to be so critical and negative on social media. If you don't like the content, don't watch it and don't subscribe but let's leave the negativity, cyber bullying and unconstructive feedback behind or in the playground

      Yes. This is John Lobb, the original which is still run by the Lobb family members and exclusively makes only bespoke shoes.
      In the 1990’s, the family sold their Parisian workshop to Hermes and allowed them to use their name under a licensing agreement.
      John Lobb Paris now makes Goodyear welted shoes in Northampton and bespoke shoes out of Paris.
