I STILL have two of these a wonderful older woman gave to me at least 35 years ago! The only difference with min is instead of crocheting the “strap”, she took red, green and white strands of yarn (probably at least 15-20 strands of worsted weight each color) and BRAIDED THEM all the way down.....then slipped each ring in and out of that braid. I’ve been so careful with them all these years! She’s Gone Home, but these will always allow me to remember her kindness! I cannot believe I found thus on your channel!!!! I’m a first-time viewer, but I’ve put you in my “saved” bin! Lol! I’d like to try my hand at all the vintage things I’ve seen posted in small pictures on your blog! A HUGE THANK YOU FOR THE FREE PATTERN, AS WELL! I’m disabled, live alone since my husband Went Home, and every penny matters. I ask Jesus to bless you over and over for your kindness!!! Amen! 🕊❤️🙏💜✝️✡️🌹🙋♀️🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Keep up the great work! Debbe Leone 🙏❤️
My Grandmama had these when I was a kid and I have been looking for a pattern for them for years. She didn't crochet so they were given to her. Thank you for the video and the free pattern!!
I had one of these long ago, havent a clue where it went, but now tada here you are with the pattern, and I can make one for myself. Thank you. Blessings to you.
Just doing some binge watching Christmas decoration videos and started with you first, love all your designs, thank you for sharing this with us. The rest I will just give a thumbs up, as I do love all your designs and creations. Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas to you. You are my number one favorite. 🤗🤗❤️❤️⛄🦌🎅
My mom.made this for me over 30 years ago! I have been looking for a pattern to teach myself how to crochet! Thank you!! I plan on making them for my girls!
Oh thank you for sharing I made these a LONG time ago but forgot about it. Been looking for something different to do. I crocheted around a plastic ring from a six pack of soda and at end of ring I did a chain three skip one and single crochet next stitch repeat turned out cute also. Again thanks 💕
I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I just can't get the circles to look like yours. The sc row is killing me as the st's are all gapped and then started twisting around the original ch 20, and then 26 st's didn't make it around to the first sc. I had the same problem with the halo on the Granny Angel. I would love to make this, but it's just too frustrating for me, lol. Saved to my crochet folder though, thanks for all the free patterns you give and show us!
Sara, this is so cute and so easy. Is there anyway you can write out and explain what this item is? I want to make some for my great niece and nephew but I also want to add like a little poem about it. Can you help me with that? Thank you so much and thank you for your great tutorials. Merry Christmas 🕇🎅😊
Hi Sara, I am trying to make the Santa Alarm, but after I single crochet, the ring twists so much that I am having trouble. Do I need to use a larger hook, or maybe crochet looser?
The one I have has been crocheted over the thin plastic that's around soda cans or bottles. It's very old and is in really good shape...all the plastic rings are in tact, not stretched out at all.

You might have chained your beginning chain to tightly, loosen up your beginning ch and that should help.

You might try a larger hook and crocheting looser. Make sure of your st count, also. To be honest I have never had one twist.
This is such a brilliant idea to make for Xmas carnt wait to get started looks so much fun thankyou for this wonderful Xmas project 😃😃
So Glad you like it..Have fun!
Hi Sara. I haven’t seen that red sparkles sugar n cream yarn before. ESP in that size. Where did u find it? Thanks😀
It was given to me from a Friend who purchased it from the Lily site online.
Do you have to make it with cotton yarn?
Any Med 4 yarn will work
is there a way to make this into a reath
Can use an elastic hair tie instead of chaining the 20
I do not recommend it for this project, as the ties will stretch out in time.

LOL once I saw this pattern I left because my neighbor across from me at my apartment complex has the same thing hanging on her wall outside
