      New subscriber here:) I recently bought Pixi Glow Tonic , for the first few days, my skin turned red and purge. My skin doesn’t have active pimples but after using Glow tonic, my whiteheads on forehead and chin worsen.After like 2 weeks, the bumps in my forehead head clears. And also my pimple marks seems to fade a bit. It doesn’t irritate my skin and surprisingly, it moisturized my face. Btw, glow tonic is the first Aha-containing product I ever used. And I also bought clarity tonic to try it :)

      The glow tonic because glycolic acid is the gold standard and it’s just the right strength- effective but not too strong. The clarity one’s risk more complications because more things in it

    Hi Dear Doctor Anne 😍 Oh I have heard great things about this tonic. Good to know you like it for my future purchases 👍 Since I have started Tretinoin & HQ in June I was nearly petrified to use any chemical exfoliator 🥺 but now I have built the courage and used the NIP+FAB Glycolic Fix Liquid Glow Extreme and the Ordinary Lactic Acid here and there. No issues so far so I will probably use them 3-4 times a week interchangeably. My skin does need a good exfoliation so I should get on with it 😊
    PS: I am pretty sure your hair is shorter now 🤩 The new cut really suits you 😘

    Seems like a nice product. Very difficult to gauge the amount of actives but I think the salicylic acid must be less than 0.5% or they would have to state the percentage on the label in America. Maybe around 1% glycolic? I find the consensus on exfoliation mixed: one person will say you can use mandelic acid daily, another will say use it 1-2 times a week only. Paula's choice will tell you to use an 8% glycolic acid once or twice daily. I use Isntree 8% AHA essence (4% glycolic, 4% lactic). Seems gentle, smells super acidic because they didn't add fragrance

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think in the end it comes down to your skin and the strength of the product - if I use an 8% Glycolic twice a day, that will wreck my skin. But I am 41 and on Tretinoin, it was different in my 20s, so...

    Hello doctor Anne, I would like your advice, I recently bought a Paula's Choice BHA exfoliant lotion, which I've been using for about a week now, and see no difference (which I know shouldn't happen yet) then, my mom gave me The Inkey List c50 blemish night treatment which she had bought for me online as a surprise, now I don't know if I should stop using PC BHA and start with c50 one? Off course I'll keep to one I don't use and use it in the future, but not at the same time, so I guess my question it's which you think could be better to eliminate blemishes, which is my main concern right now

    • @moose8762
      @moose8762 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used an entire bottle of the PC BHA liquid exfoliant and found it the equivalent of splashing water on my face. CeraVe SA cream is the best BHA product I have tried.

    • @sungirl765

      @@moose8762 oh, thank you for the info, I'll look for the cerave one :)

    • @moose8762
      @moose8762 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sungirl765 well, you don't need the CeraVe one specifically. It was just the one that worked well for me. You can have 10 different exfoliating acid serums and all of them might be 2% but they will work differently based on the delivery system. And I think that L'Oreal knows what they are doing in this regards. I found that it got rid of blemishes very quickly by helping the surrounding skin to turn over. They do state that they didn't test it for use on the face but I liked it. It also has capryloyl salicylic acid which is L'Oreals patented salicylic acid derivative that works in a different way than salicylic acid. It is used at much smaller percentages 0.05% I believe, but - from what I know - it spreads more evenly on the surface of the skin and doesn't work as deeply in the stratum corneam as salicylic acid. It also has 10% Urea, Niacinamide, Ceramides (of course), and a small amount of lactic acid that probably isn't for exfoliation. Really good at murdering blemishes, not good for dry skin. Would be great if they made one with AHAs as well because I like everything about it besides the fact that it causes me to get keratin plugs. Also it may sting your face a lot. 10% urea is too much for some people. I find it soothing but someone I know had to wash it off because of burning

    • @moose8762

      I am pretty sure this is an "essence". But yes, vitaminc c serum, and then sunscreen in the morning or vitamin C serum first even. I am not sure the order matters much. This is also probably one of those exfoliants you could use twice a day if you wanted to and if you tolerate that. But if you are using it once a day then it is better to use it in the evening.
