When you were taking the first clamp off I was squinting every time the rust was falling on the camera haha first of habit I guess living in the rust belt. I liked how it sounded full straight pipe after the cat but I also agree that it would be super loud and annoying while driving. I’d maybe throw in another resonator then leave the muffler off when you put the v5 in the savoy. Man was that loud though. I can’t believe how much it opened up even with just the muffler off. Can’t wait to see this in the savoy !!! I didn’t comment this on the other video but I was thinking that while you have it you should hack the exhaust off and see how it sounded lol
Great work! I had a MK4 V5 too! Had it fitted with a miltek exhaust system, cause of the awkward stock rear valance. Had to also, swap the valance with a GTI valance. Could of just cut the shape out, but I was fussy with the end result. Keep up the great work!
i think the 10valve v5 sound better than the 20valve, maybe it is just the different cats because your 20v is a 4 motion and my 10v is a fwd, but the 10v sound more like half a v10 kind of that nice rumble. this 20v is all just pops and crackles
All I want is for a video with vr5, 2.8, 3.2, 3.6 VR6s with just straight piped exhaust clips, then after a pole, because I could be wrong, but I think the 2.8 sounds best like it's internal rumble, even better with itbs. Now, the question is, how you going to make that happen? I know this would get a million likes easy.
Dude you have to try a blast pipe exhaust system on that thing mine has a 2.5inch strait pipe to a magan oval exit sounds similar to the stage 1 but I know a blast pipe will just wake up the high rpm exhaust note sooooo well

Yo, This will be insane in the savoy. Just a thought but when you are undoing rotten bolts- try using a blow torch to get then red hot then hit them with a lump hammer to shock them- its amazing the difference it makes and helps to avoid bolts sheering.
Cut it before it Ys into a single pipe and enjoy. You can then add mufflers, but keep it true dual for some awesome burble sound, without being too loud.
I bet stage 2 was louder than the church bells! They must love you over there. Stage 1 was really nice, but I just love Steve the blackbird. Maybe a good name for a car? (Or a plane)
Thats a V5 4-Motion...? A combo I wasn't aware existed until now. VW only sold the 4-motion with the V6 in the UK. Straight piped sounded like the old Group B Audi Quattro rally cars from the 80s that Michelle Mouton used to race 🤩... But back box delete would be a good sounding car for road use.

My understanding was that Monte Carlos had the high polish spokes with the gun metal pockets. Santa Monica had the color changed pockets. Either way, I guess we are both correct

Pro-tip. You should never use a torque wrench as a breaker bar. It can damage them and knock off the calibration.
$10 harbor freight torque wrenches are already way off calibration 😂😂

I did the same on my V5 and ended up grinding off the clamp and putting a new one on. One of the best (and loudest) exhaust sounds IMO
