The blazer is a win! The look was giving chic and luxe, I’m here for it. Those loafers, stunning! I love the color of the bags. Glad you liked the leather quality now I’ll look into the brand. I was wondering about them.
Thank you, that’s so nice to hear! Keep me posted on how you like the Oleada bags, I can imagine that you’d be a fan of the mini anchor bag since you’re a fan of the Hermes Evelyne - they have similar capacity and I feel like they give off a similar vibe 😇
Hi, Amanda! Oleada claim to use Italian top grain leather for their products. They mention further that this Italian leather is 100% natural by-product leather recycled from the food industry. I just want to make some comments on these claims. 1) Due to ethical reasons, European leather IS a recycled product from the food industry. Fortunately, I would say!!! The European leather industry processes about 160.000 t per year. Can you imagine the "wastes", if cows, calfs, lambs, goats, etc, would be slaughtered only to sell their "skin"?!?! In Europe, this industry is subject to strict standards and norms and specific regulations. 2) Most of the tanneries in the EU are in Italy. For a better understanding: about 60% of the total leather production is made in Italy vs 10% in Spain and 3-6% in France. All these informations to say that the a.m. claims are no main selling points to me. However, I trust your expertise concerning the quality of the leather used by Oleada. I have been eyeing the Mini Anchor bag (USD 515) for months. Now, the tan color is not available anymore. Did you order these bags on your own? If it's the case, could you share with us info about import taxes and shipping costs? Thank you. Have a nice week!
Hi dear, thank you for your comment and for sharing all of this data - super interesting! I agree, it is a good thing that there are strict regulations in this space and that from both a regulatory and data (but most importantly: ethical) perspective, using recycled leather from the food industry for the production of handbags is the way to go..! Now, I was gifted these bags by Oleada to test their quality and share my honest opinions. Free shipping was applied to my delivery and there were no import fees either. I’d recommend you to check their shipping policy on their website for details based upon your location. And if you don’t find sufficient info, you can always email their customer service team! I hope this helps and if you choose to order an Oleada bag then I really hope you will enjoy wearing it 😊💖
