You would never get this same feel if it were recreated identically with CG or any modern artstyle. The details mixed with this older artstyle is what makes this the way it is. It simply can't be replicated in any other artstyle.
Evangelion's worldview is futuristic but feels somewhat old, which is the best. And the detailed animations of the equipment and firearms are wonderful.
Well, after a disaster like the 2nd impact i can see technology evolving in a different way, stagnated for a while and progressing in a single leap. It's awesome.
That's the thing, it's not the future, it's like the year 2000s. Humans have just reversed engineered the creatures that have attacked them, And spendt the entirety of Human kinds resources and man power as a last ditch effort to save the globe, only for the leader of the project to be influenced by nepotism and telling everyone that his pathetic and useless son is going to be the one to pilot it and be the hero against his will. Not everyone knows this, but evangelion is a satire of mecha fights, kinda portraying more human and realistic responses to the absurdity the genera represents.
Well it’s set in 2014 so technically it’s in the past. They don’t have smartphones and other technology that we have because I assume most of the budget went to military weapons and specially the EVA project which by the looks of it it must be extremely expensive.
I love how they captured what monumental undertaking is to maintain the EVAs and Tokyo-3 itself while keeping somewhat grounded in reality. I guess that's what made the later Rebuilds movies lose a lot of the charm from the original series, at least for me. Nothing felt real.
This! Capturing how much effort is needed to maintain the EVAs makes them feel truly important and powerful, that they are really the last hope of humanity (well kind of). This is why I like EVA a lot more than other Mecha anime, well although EVA is not truly a Mecha anime but still. About the rebuild, I think part 1 and 2 is good, I love the Ramiel battle in the remake (Operation Yashima).
Remember those hundreds or thousand evas that somehow Gendo and Fuyutsuki were able to manufacture and mantain on their own while the world was a red mess for 15 years? Yeah, Rebuild did lose that realism in the name of pure spectacle💀
I could totally see that it's on their PC given all of the sound effects are layered on top of the video and it probably doesn't even sound like the original, if they even had those sound effects.
A lost art this has become.......nowadays animes are just cute static landscapes and backgrounds.....there are some exceptions here and there, tho......but if you make some research you'll see my point.
Yup... they have to light the thrusters with an Ohio Blue tip sulfur match. After 721 physical manual steps to launch the most sophisticated dangerous weapon humanity can build. 🤭 Meanwhile the enemy has completed it's objective returned to base had a meal and is taking a nap.😴
Just watched it, its not bad but... its craziest fking "psicological" anime ever, with a rly wierd story telling about cararcters trying to self accept with all the good and bad they have done and suffered, i dont recomend to be honest
This. It's my absolute favourite anime and top 3 favorite media in general, and i don't recommend it to anyone. Not because i'm elitist or something, but because many people come to watch it as normal mecha anime and then they get traumatic experience and depression attack. It's absolutely fine from them to want just some mecha fun, but eva is surreal and psychological in first place

Futuristic technology but still mechanical, not too virtual and nanometric
It's kinda like the Alien franchise. It is how the people in the 80's imagine the future would look like.

I've said this before and would say the same thinga again, "The details man the details! and its still too advanced for its time".
We would sadly learn, it was too advanced FOR THE FUTURE. It was in fact the last call for its time.

Freaking golden age of anime !!
Your choice of clips and music is impeccable. Thank you for sharing your hard work editing!
Glad you enjoy it!

エヴァは90年代アニメの集大成といった感じですね
I don’t want touchscreens and holograms. Give me pistons, gears, and hoses.
Best comment ever!!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩
Exactly
Like in the 80s and 90s mecha animes give me all that back
0:04 I had repeat a couple of times to make sure my eyes weren’t playing with me but where did those extra hands come from 😂😂😂
Ikari Shinji
Asuka plus Shinji together within the same entry plug
No matter how hard we try to recreate this, it is impossible. Unless we start drawing on paper again

I wish my feed was nothing but these videos
This is what i felt the Rebuild movies were missing, but the clean looking high tech reflected the times those movies were released.
This anime is still too good nowadays
change my mind
TRUE ANIMATION
As Japanese this edit is so good thx
Art!!!
Dope AF
1:08 that scared the sheet out of me.
They dont make em like they used to
They don’t make animators like they used to, crunch and burnout caused by overworking the animation teams is killing the medium.
Where could I find the video but without the music? I love the sound effects
only on my PC )

新劇無いとこに愛を感じる
Io, posso solo immaginare, l'incredibile complessità del circuito lubrificante che avrebbe questo sistema meccanico. Troppo complicato...

any real eva fan wouldn't recommend eva
