If anybody is interested in the coat colors (according to Star Stable): 0:43 - Silver 0:57 - W21 1:38 - Tobiano Black 2:50 - Black Dun 3:19 - Black 7:11 - Chestnut
Icelandics are kinda supposed to be stiff in the back, they're not dressage ponies but they have to be very stable, strong and need to take their owner over an island with almost no roads until a few years ago. That's what they're bred for and thats why most if the 'action' takes place on the forehand (front) and almost none in the backhand (back). Now they're also used as showponies and they judge mostly on stable back, and flashy forelegs :) also head positions
The Dun Sabino is actually a coat specific to Icelandic horses. The horse has been isolates on the island for a very long time. Horses that are exported out of the country are not allowed back in. Absolutely no horses are allowed into Iceland because they are trying to keep the Icelandic breed as pure as it can be. Also, the black and white is a pinto, not a paint. Paint is a breed. Pinto is a color.
@Krissy J erm no. He won’t change fully white, he will remain the way he is. Markings do not grow over time, the pink skin stays the same so the markings stay the same. It’s a KIT mutation, a white spotting gene known as w21. If you google W21 Icelandic horse, horses with this ‘Sabino-like’ pattern appear. The horse in game is a very realistic representation of w21. Dominant white is not ‘a’ gene, many genes can lead to a horse being max white phenotype, even if they have a completely different genotype, and often a mixture of many genes - not just a particular one. I recommend joining Equine colour genetics group on Facebook and reading up about the different KIT mutations! Max white horses are white from birth as their whole body is a big pinto marking, it doesn’t ‘develop’.
I got the last one that Violet looked at and named it Maskedrabbit, and his nickname is Clyde. I was randomizing the name and then I landed on Masked(other name) and thought, "Hmm, I like that." Then looked up where the name Clyde came from - it was from Scotland and Ireland - and named it after the country's nation animal -- a rabbit! i´ve been studying horse coats and genetics for the past year! so here i let you my bets on them since sso rarely called their coats the correct ones: 0:51 - Silver Dapple 0:57 - Dun Sabino (Also known as W21) 1:40 - Black Tovero 3:04 - Grulla (Dun on a Black base specifically) 3:23 - Sun Bleached Black 7:10 - Sorrel

There are actually flying pace races on ice and the horses are fine. I've been riding icelandic horses all my life and if you never did you should really try it. I could never live without tölt^^
The Icelandic horse we had was also very stiff in the back, most Icelandics I've seen have also had a kind of trot on the hind legs during canter. So I think it's pretty normal haha. Our's did it too
The one with this eye color thing is called Sabino which is my favourite (also i can be your color expert)the other one beside the pinto is a blue roan and the dark one is just dark bay and id say its a silver dapple in Germany we would call it Windfarben but im not completely sure.
1/13 how rare heterochromia is depends on what type (like if it’s one eye is one color and the other eye is a different or if they eye is spilt with 2 different colors there many more but like that) and for the ‘Appaloosa’ that’s a W21
I feel like everytime someone finds a new horse in the files of star stable star stable release it asap so i feel like they don’t get things done. I think the tölt should be faster. And i don’t get why the slow gallop makes it pas (i don’t know if it’s called that in english)
0:47, I think this one is actually just flaxen liver chestnut. Dapples can occur in any coat color, and the pony has no black points, so it cannot be bay :) 1:25 I'm not super knowledgeable about patterns, but I would say this horse could be dun w/ splash and sabino.
When you mentioned your cat boots, I just remembered when I was a kid I had a girl kitten i loved, i named her little red boots after a pair of red western styled boots I also loved. 🤔

yep you're spot on! ellert frá baldurshaga (b. 2013) was the first icelandic horse to display this new gene and has now passed it down to multiple of his offspring. he's kind of an icon here! the mares he has covered all needed to be a solid coat for them to throw w21 foals too i believe!
Hi violet! I play StarStableOnline on mobile, when I went to play it yesterday, it said that I need to update the app. So I went to the App Store, and the update button was not there. Is there any tips from mobile players that can help me with any of this? I am kinda knew to sso but I am trying my hardest to learn, so if there is any tips to update the app or anything like that it would be appreciated :) Edit: I couldn’t play starstable for over 2 days Edit2: I emailed StarStable support and I am able to play now.
you should make a training time vid when people write horse name ideas and nicknames so then you can choose some of your favorite and you wont have any trouble for naming!
