I read the article about Booka and what unfortunately happened to her at one of your shows. As a survivor of sexual abuse and physical abuse from a past relationship that lasted for 3 years, I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for making a song that can wholeheartedly express the anger, depression, sadness, fear, and guilt I feel. The quote in the song, "Fucking coward, that's somebody's daughter," really resonates with me at this point. (EDIT: After listening to the song a few times, I thought in the beginning, it was going between the assaulter's and survivor's points of view (but that was me from lack of sleep), like the first verse: "Another demon for you to hide, to make you cry yourself to sleep," as if the assaulter was showing remorse for what he did. And the verse that goes, "Bang, bang, bang - that's the sound of your bedroom door; that's the sound of the bathroom stalls,; they make you cry yourself to sleep," hits too close to home for me. It shows the anger I hide, as I believe it shows the anger Booka wants to let out as well. As it relates to me, and to the fucker who would do something so vile as the song mentions, abusers or assaulters - however it relates to anyone - I personally don't they they would ever show remorse. They may for the moment, or try to put on a facade, and the abuser makes you think you're to blame for them being or becoming the way they are. That's what I've experienced, anyway. And I'd never wish abuse or assault to happen to anyone. But I hope that the assaulter that this song is referring to that hurt Booka the way he did, and for my abuser, to both rot in the pits of hell. That's what I've experienced in the 3 years I was in that relationship, and I just got out of it in January of 2018. Now, I'm focusing on better things in my life as my abuser spends 6-10 years in prison. Now, I think I found someone who cares for me, loves me from the bottom of his heart, and knows about my situation. And I don't think I'll ever stop loving that person. He's made me feel things I've never felt before. This song shows a phoenix rising from the ashes. Kick ass. 🤘)
I dont think they are trying to show the abusers perspective, I see the lines "another demon for you to hide, to make you cry yourself to sleep" as about the victim being ashamed or afraid to tell others ("and why you feel compelled to somehow blame yourself, thats far beyond me"). As a sidenote, im happy you managed to get yourself out of that horrific situation
Neverbloom is good but it's typical deathcore and like 3 of th songs were identical. I think Old Souls is their best bc they added new elements to their music and has some of their best songs.

England is just disappointing at the moment, reasonably good metalcore scene but nowhere close to what it was 10 years ago when Sheffield and Reading were considered the places to be, I mean just look what Bring me the Horizon turned into, every time their shit comes on the radio I have to sit through Pray for Plagues a few times to bleach my ears out and think about what they could have become.
Crazy the Australia drops a new Thy Art and new MTS on the same day. Minus hearing Alissa's super nasally screams on the new Carnifex (but only during the quieter, melodic bit), that's 3 killer tracks this weekend!
The song is so raw and it's very contrasting to rather melodic Old Souls and rhythmic Worlds Apart. The tempo, the vocals, the riffs are so unstable and polarized - it seems that they tried to put too much in one song. Yet, I still satisfied with this banger. It has torn me apart!
