I read Just for the Summer a few weeks ago and didn’t realize when I bought it that it was part of a series 😂 but I fell in love with Abby Jimenez because of that book. So now I’m going back and reading them in order.
I read Just for the summer first as well, and I’m so glad I did because I would not have been shocked at the plot twist if I have read them in order. I read Part of your world next and then Yours Truly
So fun fact, the happy ever after playlist was written before the friend zone. I think that it’s actually better to read the happy ever after playlist then the friend zone, and then life’s too short. I think that way the friend zone is a lot better.
Yours truly is one of my all time fav book. But Just for The summer is also amazing still. I love Friendzone so much! It's has Just been published here in Brazil and I'm willing to reread it in Portuguese. ❤😅
Yes!! Thank you!! I 💯 agree..Friend Zone the main character got on my last nerve lol and I’m glad you mentioned a continued story about Sloan b/c her character I would want to follow! I’m buddy reading Part of Your World after Sloan’s story. Glad I’m not in the minority with The Friend Zone😂 Great Review!!
I just started her books by reading Just for the Summer and I loved it! Probably will read more books in the future by her! Does she have any fall or winter books? Would love to read them!
Did I miss you mentioning the overlap between Just For The Summer and the two prior books in this series? I’m wanting to read it as a stand-alone but curious if I’ll be missing out if I do this?
My Favorite is ,"Yours Truly,". I think I like the Friend Zone series books more than Part of Your World Series, but my overall top book is Yours Truly ❤
I think her next book is going to be a story centered about doug ( Daniel’s friend from part of your world) and Emma’s best friend. I forgot her name (from just for the summer) 🤞
In the target edition of Just for the Summer there is a bonus chapter about Doug and Maddie. Abby has said that she isn’t going to write a full book for them. But she is on a book tour and has been talking about her next book!
Im really interested to know your ranking I just finished my first Abby book I started with the friendzone and will continue in order - I’ll come back when I’m finished ✨
I just started reading her books and reading them out of order…. Loved Just for the summer (one I would re-read and I never do that) and now I’m reading Part of your world.
I almost didn't read Abby's other books after reading The Friend Zone too. I did NOT like what happened to the supporting characters. Book 2 redeemed it but still, I was so unhappy at the end of the Friend Zone. I am back and forth between Yours Truly and Just for the Summer as my favorite.
I’m in the middle of Happily Ever After Playlist and I love it! I have read 4 of her other books. Loved all but Friend Zone. But HEAP is perhaps my favorite. The MFC Sloan is a sweetheart. Grief is something I relate to so it touches me more personally.
Ok- I LOVE Abby Jimenez!!!! And that is a very big deal bc I don’t like Emily Henry, I don’t like Christina Lauren, etc. (No hate to others I personally just can’t with them!) But Abby? I’ll read EVERY book she writes! I’ve only read 4 thus far - and so excited to still have the other 2 to read! Of the 4 I’ve read, here are my ranking: 4- The Friend Zone 3- Part Of Your World 2- Yours Truly 1- Life’s Too Short Isn’t it funny how rankings differ?!!! Also, Heather @bookables you do know Abby now has a Novella out right? Worst Wingman Ever - Look for it! It was a five star for me. Could you do a ranking of Taylor Jenkins Reid???? I love her as well! Thank you for another fun video!
I've only read her Part of Your World series but her latest actually ranked lowest for me of the three, with Part of Your World in 2nd place and Yours Truly at the top. While there was a lot of YFTS I loved, the ending felt rushed and many parts of the book felt too long, while others could have been explored further. That being said, it was still an incredible read!
I have only read 2 of her books so far. A Place in Your World and Just for the Summer. I adore these books. I just ordered all of her other books. I read A Place in Your World first and I fell in love with a third “character”, the town of Wakan. I would love to go back there. It made me think of The Mitford series. I would love a whole series following Daniel and Alexis and Hunter the dog with of course all the other characters like Doug and his adorable pig Kevin Bacon. I know that’s not likely to happen, lol, but I would love it. The book had a magical realism to it but was also so psychologically real. I just finished Just for the Summer and I am in awe of Abby Jimenez. Devastating and beautiful. My heart ached for both the characters. Although I have no experience like Emma’s Abby Jimenez was able to capture her emotional trauma so well I could feel it. She’s really an amazing writer.
@@Bookables I’m halfway through The Friend Zone and you were SO right! Wow. I feel the same way. I’m so irritated that she’s characterized as the “cool girl” , sassy, blunt, tells it like it is but actually she’s such a poor communicator. After meeting her mother I am starting to have empathy. I understand chronic pain. But I feel like I want to be her therapist not read her love story. I’m getting really upset on Josh’s behalf. The A Place in Your World series, all three, are excellent. I’ll have to watch your other reviews because I’m always looking for books to read.
Love Abby Jimenez but also really didn't warm to Kristen as a main character: her "cool girl" not-like-other-girs vibe really bugged me! After reading Part of Your World and Happy Ever After Playlist I would LOVE a book focused on Lola Simone's romance with Alexis' brother.
Part of your world series ranked worst to best: Just for the Summer, Part of Your World, and my #1: Yours Truly. I think it’s cool everyone has a different take on what is romantic:)
Ive been reading her books. We share the same least favorite book - same exact thoughts. Luckily it wasn’t the first of Abby’s books that I read! I absolutely loved Happy Ever Playlist too. It was so good!!
I was a little worried listening to the Part of Your World description. It sounds a little like a Hallmark movie where the female main characters tend to give up their jobs to support their male partner. There’s nothing wrong with that, but it can become a trope. I can’t judge a book based on a short synopsis, and I could be totally wrong about it. I thought several of the books you described sounded intriguing. Thanks for the video!
I also wondered about that but was pleasantly surprised. I thought the story was well done and captured a lot of nuance that others don’t. Would give it a shot if you’re interested!

Yesss you must!

@@Freshy-r2v I completely agree. I read Just for the Summer first and was glad I did.
I mostly agree with your ranking except I would rank Happily Ever After Playlist as # 3 and Yours Truly as #2.
I just finished The Happily Ever Playlist a couple of days ago based off your previous recommendations and I loved it!!! 🎶 🐶
So fun fact, the happy ever after playlist was written before the friend zone. I think that it’s actually better to read the happy ever after playlist then the friend zone, and then life’s too short. I think that way the friend zone is a lot better.

gah i love and adore that book!
I’ve still never read Abby Jimenez, but I plan to read Part of Your World Series this summer!! 🎉

I love Abby Jimenez! Still need to read Just for Summer
So I wasn’t a huge fan of the friend zone until I found out that it was based on her and her best friend.

I have read 4 of these 6 books. I liked all of them. I still want to read The Happily Ever After Playlist and Life's Too Short.
I just finished Just For Summer and loved it. I listened on audiobook and it was really really good.
yay!
No where mentioned the order on the series with "just for the summer" etc.
1. Part of your world
2. Yours truly
3. Just for the summer

Good job on the pronunciation of her last name Heather!
loved just for the summer
yesss
I love them all
I’ve only read The Friend Zone 🥲
