Saw SRV summer '88 Austin, TX at the Fabulous T Bird River Fest, 3 days of jams. He, C. Santana, Joe Walsh, and 2 others (sorry can't remember right now) played all together. It was ...beyond words. May he RIP.
I've seen him live twice my first show the orpheum in Boston the best show I've ever seen in my life I was like 25 ft away from him the entire show unbelievable best guitarist I don't care what anybody says I've seen so many bands he is by far the best guitarist in concert
You're the first reactor that didn't laugh or make fun of his stank face, I appreciated that, that man felt his music and watching his intensity is such an experience. Great job as always my friend~ RIP Stevie~wish you could see your new popularity thanks to these reactors
@@dubzer0649 great! Hey, you don’t have to tape a reaction to this, but here is his performance with the great Albert Collins at the Presidential Inaugural concert in 1989. It will blow your mind. Texas blues at its finest! th-cam.com/video/ytrLviYxcyc/w-d-xo.html
The thing that strikes me about Stevie is , when you see other guitarists the guitar and the person playing are 2 separate things .but with Stevie it seems to me it's like it's part of him
For new Stevie Ray Vaughan listeners, Stevie was born in 1954 and died in 1990. He died in a helicopter crash with a group of others after his last gig. He was a musical genius, but was a very kind and humble person who helped many people in his life time. We in the Stevie Ray Vaughn community love and miss him terribly but he will live on forever through his music and definitely in our hearts.
I have to just add one thing to your comment. Stevie was 3 years sober at the time of his death cause the doctor flat our told him he would die if he didn't get sober, although the drugs didn't kill it almost seems Stevie was destined to die way to early
Best the world has ever seen...not the only one who could play behind his back but I have never seen anyone approach a mic and sing while playing behind his back at the same time. Crazy!
You might think that is sweat pouring from him, but it isn't. It's soul. Pure soul. This truly is what bonds us all as human lovers of such talent. I believe it was the great Albert King who said Stevie was the blackest white man he ever met. Unbelievable compliment, wouldn't you say? I do. Stevie couldn't read sheet music. He just played straight from his heart and SOUL. He was the guitar GOAT, in my opinion. RIP Stevie. We love you and so appreciate that your music lives on forever.
I was at Stevie Ray Vaughn's last concert the night his helicopter crashed after the show at Alpine Valley, Wisconsin August 26th 1990. The next day was one of the saddest days of my life. The lineup was Eric Clapton, SRV, Robert Cray and Buddy Guy. RIP SRV!
Musicians today don't have the talent that SRV had justvin his pinky finger. Stevie was the very best then and now. Keep watching him play (always watch live versions) you will not be disappointed
Check out "Mary Had a Little Lamb". Seriously, it is a little less a scene for SRV to show off his incredible guitar skills, but shows up the talent from the band as well.
I've gone to his statue many times in Austin, just to sit there, smoke a joint and talk to him about love, life and music!! We've had great conversations!!! I miss his talent!
Hard to believe it was just sitting in a case until he picked it up. And if you watched the Voodoo Child video and you seeing bending over it's because he dropped his guitar pick. He picks it up and then kills it
SRV just foolin with us here because he can. He got the tricks from 60s guitar legend, Jimi Hendrix (the writer of Voodoo Child btw). These guitar legends are so good that they can fool around, play tricks, with the guitar and not miss a lick. It's a bit of showmanship that SRV learned from Jimi.
Couldn't have said it better!!! I completely agree and anyone that don't agree that Stevie was the best to have ever picked up a guitar, they simply don't know music at all!!! REST IN PIECE TO THE GREATEST TO HAVE EVER PLAYED OR EVER WILL PLAY!!!
There are good players then there's great players then there's feeling he's from a different planet best player in the world handrex was great but nothing like this guy love nz

Love your reaction, this is one of the best blues guitar performances ever recorded. Even other blues legends like BB King Albert King Buddy Guy and others say his talent was a freak of nature, who ever heard a white guy play such killer blues-! Even Eric Clapton who was touring with Stevie said after hearing him perform the first time on the tour "How the hell am I supposed to go on after THAT-?!! I saw him play live twice in Illinois in the 80's and it was the best $13 ticket ever sold on the planet, he killed the show and many didnt even sit down for most of the show. SRV is one of the true GOATS and a true R&B / Blues guitar legend.
It always looks so easy and just natural for Stevie. We were sorely deprived when his maker called him home. There will never be another like him. Good to see someone new seeing this geniius of our very awesome generation. Melissa Ward here.
Once in a blue moon when the stars align perfectly a star finds its way from heaven to the earth and captures our hearts and souls and then just as quickly as they appear they are gone. But the legacy the star leaves behind is one that is unmatched and untouched. Stevie Ray was that star. I’m just glad I got to witness all his music and performances while god had him on loan to us.

With Stevie i believe it goes beyond skills and technical ability. The way he makes or helps us feel is his persona & character channeling/speaking through "her" his guitar, he pours everything out from deep within himself, Feeling the music flowing inside.
