- Hey guys, so today I thought it would be fun to have a look at the rarest clue scrolls of all time. If anybody wants to take a crack at calulating the odds of these clues, feel free to leave a comment.
Clue scrolls are exilerating to open, as there are extremly valuable items to obtain. Today I will show you the rarest clues in osrs history. If you feel like you have one of these beat, feel free to post your image in my submition discord.

Third age pick can be used in place of a dragon pick, so if he is an iron man he can actually skip wildy bosses, and flex on his friends at the same time. Honestly, the dream.
Clue #4 seems to be fake too, wizard boots don't have that size when received. Looks like a big photoshop

the 3rd age pickaxe is actually quite useful. It's just as good as a dragon pickaxe so it's BIS at raids, zolcano, and any mining activity.
The crystal pickaxe is BIS for all those activities.

Pre eoc, like my 5th hard clue I got noted super set. I found out how rare it was and got pissed. I was a noob and had to grind out every step of my clues. Decided they were a waste of time. Houndhunt TH-cam series came out and motivated me to do my clues again. I did around 30 clues and got noted super sets. Fml.....
I got a rune zammy kit, monk's robe (t) and shoulder parrot in my 3rd, 5th and 7th beginner clue scroll casket in f2p :D
i think the triple boots drop is ~1/4M
With 5 rolls to hit any of the 3 boots its 5/1,133 chance for each so 3*5/,1,133 =15/1,133 to get any of them
Assuming the first roll landed on a boot, there are 4 rolls left to hit either of the 2 remaining boots
4/1,133 for each so 2*4/1,133 = 8/1,133 to get either of the remaining two
With 3 rolls left to hit the last unique boot its 3/1,133
15/1,133 * 8/1,133 * 3/1,133 = 1 in 4,040,054
Close 1 in 24.25 million
The last 1 was from elite... The 9th and 10 are fake, you can only get 5 item rolls one medium not 6... Once again do your research...

in 5 separate rolls the probability for a 1/1133 roll occurring 3 times can be roughly estimated at 1/1133^3 = 1,454,419,637 so close to 1 in 1 Billion. Using the Binomial Probability Formula to produce an exact probability since the event occurred in 5 rolls not 3, I found that the probability before the first roll of receiving all 3 boots was 1 in 114,302,679. So on the order of 1 in 100 Million!
I got a few cool clue rewards so far but nothing as cool as these^^ all of them were on my ironman so I got rangers tunic on 1st elite. I got 4 pages in one clue which were all guthix got 2x page 2 and 2x page 3 and I also got once the same bandos page 3 times in a single clue.

I know some of them aren't, but most of these could of been easily faked. Many of them don't show the chat dialog clue values and I don't think i saw any of them with actual footage. They could have maybe like started recording after they opened it or something to give these clues a bit of credibility.
Note: Just noticed some people saying some were fake in the comments, I honestly agree, screenshots of clues could be faked so easily, especially if they aren't even showing the total value in the screenshot.
You can get 3rd age pickaxe from mimic elite casket.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the odds of receiving a triple boots drop in a single medium clue is literally 1 in a billion. Boots are 1/1000 per slot, so for the clue itself you have a 1/200 chance of receiving a single boots drop since there are 5 rolls on the clue, but for receiving 3 in a clue (This is the part I'm unsure about) we use the odds of 1/1000 and multiply 1/1000 times itself 3 times. 1/1000*1/1000*1/1000 comes out to be .000000001% or 1/1,000,000,000.
If that's the correct calculation then that's more rare than double 3rd age from a mimic. 1/5750*1/5750 is .00000003% or 1/33.33m
these are the odds of getting 3 boots in 3 specific slots in the rewards, so you have to multiply it by the amount of possible arrangements they can have within the 5 slots(5!/3! x 2! = 10), which means it has a 1/100,000,000 chance of occurring I think

I also have a screenshot of my collection log showing all 4 boots received at 189 medium clues.
I'm not sure if that's lucky though, I mean all the armour and shit is the same drop chance, it's just worth piss all.

two 3rd age items from a mimic is 1 in 25m multiple chest prior were the 1 in 1 billion rng
on 9 and 3 the 2 beside the ranger boots are in different location
#9 is fake because of a total of 5 different items but the second ranger would put the item count to 6, medium rewards can only have 3 - 5 items.
But so is 10 with being fake

Once calculated the chances of getting 7 of any 3rd age piece from 1 master clue which came to about 1 in 1 octillion (that's 27 0's) could be wrong but somewhere around that :P

That triple boots reward clue is fake. On our discord channel, someone actually got triple boots (sandals, wizzy, rangers) and the gap between the boots is much larger than on the image you showed.
I was about to brag that I got back to back rangers until 07:23 picture....smh
The potions on the 3rd age table means it failed the roll for 3rd age. For hard clues, the chance of hitting the mega rare table per roll is 1/1625, then after that it rolls 1/10, where 1 is 3rd age, 2-3 are gilded, and the rest are potions. So to get 2x of the potions is ((1/1625)*7/10)*2, or 7/8125.

Theoretically you just multiply the drop rate to get the probability. Personally, I would convert probability into percents and just add them for a more realistic number. Like, for a medium clue you have a 12.5% chance that you'll get a 1/40 drop item. And then theoretically, there is a 0.015% chance you'll get a third age pickaxe from a clue. For combination cases, I believe that requires a bit more thinking since the specific instance can go up really fast into really large (small actually) numbers. The percentage drop requires knowing the total probability of every item for a specific clue, adding that all together, and then finding what percentage a drop is of that total probability. (e.g. if a 1/5 and a 1/40 item, are the only two items, then 1/5 item has a 10 times more likelihood of being had. Or the 1/40 item is likely a 1/10 drop in this format). The funny math is because I don't think the drop tables add up to a perfect 1 so I believe that just going about the roundabout way makes more sense to me.

So on number 10 you say only clues you can get 6 loot rolls on is hard, elite. Number 9 is a medium with 6 loot rolls, mediums have a max of 5 loots. It's a fake.

I saw the thumbnail, back in like 2007/8 I got double ranger boots. I was a total noob and sold one for full rune and a dragon battle axe. For the second pair I traded it for a Santa Hat! Going rate for Santa was 500k. After a few weeks of making bow strings I traded the Santa hat and bowstrings for dragon legs 😂
