Do not use this as an instructional video. The top plug is a fill plug, the one on the side is a test plug. The reason his old oil looks like eggnog is because it has water in it. In this case he needs to get a suction device to remove all of the milky oil. Then with both plugs out you add oil from the (top) fill plug till it starts to run out of the (side) test plug. Overfilling the gearbox as he did in this video will cause excessive pressure and damage the seal, which will cause leaking oil or allow water to get inside the gearbox.
This entire video seems to be a “how not to maintain your equipment”. Most valuable content is the comments on how to do this maintenance work correctly. As a new equipment owner, I learn from others mistakes. Much to learn from this video.
Well thanks for showing me the color of the gear oil I can't tell you how many videos I've watched and never actually seen what the gear oil looks like. I'm going to be changing my gear oil next time I go to use it. I never had to do it myself so I'm glad I watched your video thank you.
I bet the owners manual tells you to fill it until the oil starts to run out the side plug. That much shouldn't poor out when you open the side plug. It isn't a drain plug. It would be nice if there were a drain plug. Either you suck it out, or just keep it at the right level and hope the oil stays good enough....which it generally does for quite a long time.
Man this video made me laugh harder than I have in a long time Brother! You were being so careful with that funnel and tiny bottle, then plug came out and flooded the whole area! 🤣🤣🤣
next time use an oil syringe to suck out the oil. Remember when filling the oil up to the bottom screw. that's its job so you don't overfill with oil. Im no expert but have read the manual.
They ought to make that cap plug magnetic so any metal pieces that may be in there stuck to it. I used magnetic oil pan drain plugs in some of my older cars.

Read the owners manual. You need to suck the oil out. The side plug is how high the level should be. Your gear box is way over full and mostly water.

Boy this guy needs to go take a lesson on how to take care of his equipment. That gearbox had more water than oil
You open both oil ports , when oil spills out of the side port, that,s enough oil, check 12 months later,
Water in oil. It ain't white, otherwise. Just put a pan under it. Lot easier that soda bottle.

Correct, the side plug is the measure that it is full. The top is for filling. That's how differentials and transmissions often work.
They ought to make that cap plug magnetic so any metal pieces that may be in there stuck to it. I used magnetic oil pan drain plugs in some of my older cars.
