One of my favourite lessons from the series was during a conversation between Shimizu and Yachi. Yachi shared how she feels inadequate about participating in the team as a manager due to her lack of knowledge in volleyball. Shimizu responded to Yachi, "You don't need noble convictions or an immovable will to start doing something. All you need is a little bit of curiosity, and that'll gradually become something important." Nowadays, it feels like the world is asking so much from us. Businesses want to know you'll pledge your loyalty to them before joining their team, or they'll ask you where you would see yourself in five years. Yachi's mother cautioned her about not causing trouble to her classmates if she would not put her heart into her job. A sense of vision in our lives is undoubtedly essential, but most people forget that child-like curiosity drives us to do more and continue doing things that we love and are important to us. I believe that in sports, and I believe that in life. I love your videos, and it's great to have you back!
there are so many absolute gems in this show I almost forgot about this one. this is a really great reading and reminder (and I absolutely feel this right now as college senior looking for jobs lol👀)! it also reminds me a little of Yamaguchi's quote of "what more do you need than pride?"
I had this moment the other day where i just paused and acknowledged that Haikyuu is one of my favorite series of all time. As a person who’s played high school sports, trained highschool athletes, and volunteered on highschool teams before I even watched the anime, all of these quotes have hit me in so many different ways. Great video!
