4:53 i wonder what happens to the prisoners and rattlers, who wins? Neither?
I'm glad you really enjoyed this game, im also glad i watched this because i severely detested it the first time around. I still don't like Abby, but at this point I wouldn't have wanted to leave my happy life with Dina, and I definitely would have saved her without the need to fight afterwards. I hate that Joel died, I'll always hate that, but I think my hatred and need for revenge has cooled off since the game first came out. Thanks for letting me view this game with new eyes, it really is a great game. Any happy non depressing games in the future? I think i might need a palate cleanser
Also congrats on finishinf another game!!! WOOO!!

Hm, happy games? I guess it depends. FFVII can be deep I think, with deaths possibly. But to me it's more of a happy one, or at least it makes me happy playing it xD I'd say Sun Haven above all else currently. That's just downright chill. Maybe Horizon Zero Dawn is happy? It seems like it has a good, proper story, and I can't really foresee it being very depressing. But I could be very wrong. Other than that I plan on doing some shorter games in the future to sprinkle in here and there like Journey and The Bookwalker, so those might be good? Hard to say since I don't know any of these games and what they bring xD
Also totally understand your feelings regarding TloU. It's a very complicated and dark game which really makes you think. I'm always down for a piece of media that makes me feel as strongly as this game did. I'm a sucker for feeling feelings since I think emotions are very important for us as humans. And also since I spent so many years forcing feelings down to be taken seriously by someone from my past. After that it's taken me years to find my emotions again, and tbh it's still a little bit of a struggle, but it's getting there.

@@jiahailstorm oh true! FF7 and sun haven feel happy, especially since I consider ff6 to be more depressing imo, (if you ever play ff6, I hope you enjoy it). I never played horizon, journey or bookwalker but those seem interesting to watch by name alone, though I have seen some trailers for horizon, but not enough to know what's going on.
I agree, i like pieces of media that stick with you deep down and stay there for a long time, sometimes forever. I'm glad you were able to be in touch with your emotions again without having to bottle it up anymore, that's something many of us have to keep working on.

I have so much to say and I just can’t contain myself. This is only my personal opinion of the ending to this story and I’m not trying to force anyone to read this or buy into my perspective...
I have grown over time to really appreciate the ending of this game even if it does seem bleak at first glance. The whole story is what I like to call a beautiful tragedy. It is a fitting conclusion for the world and the story that Naughty Dog created. It is truly heartbreaking to see what both protagonists had to lose so that they could essentially learn the same lesson. At the same time it was such a relief that they both made it out alive. It was refreshing to see the change in the title screen. It's an indicator the Abby and Lev made it to the fireflys and the sunrise in the backround gives vibes of hope and a heeling. Also, Dina left all of Ellie's stuff in the closet and folded sheets on the bed indicating she voluntarily left and that nothing bad happened to her. It's believed she is living in Jackson with JJ.
Some people ask, what was the point of the entire story if Ellie didn't go through with killing Abby? There isn’t a tangible victory for anybody when you compare it to the end of Part 1. I would argue that some of the greatest victories in life are won between your ears. The true victory for Ellie is that she is able to retain her last shred of humanity by choosing to spare Abby’s life. It's the first sign of empathy and positive growth from her in the entire game. She is finally able to break the cycle and she can now begin to heal. The beautiful part is that It's through her memory of Joel that gives her the strength to let it all go. This is symbolized at the very end by her setting the guitar by the window. She understands that Joel wouldn’t want her to follow his footsteps because he knows what a violent path will ultimately lead to.
I believe that if Joel was looking down at her that he would have just wanted her to be happy. His love for her was steadfast to the bitter end. It's very poetic that Joel saved Ellie again but this time in a different way. This time... Joel saved Ellie from herself... from beyond the grave.
"If somehow the Lord gave gave me a second chance at that moment…I would do it...all over again
Yeah...I just…I don’t know if I could ever forgive you for that…but, I would like to try
    I’d like that"
    -Joel Miller and Ellie Williams
That scene gets me every…single...time. That last conversation and this whole story will live rent free in my head for the rest of my existence. No story is truly perfect. It’s not the story that I wanted, but I’ve never experienced a single piece of media that was more impactful to me than this game. The Last Of Us Part 2 is a cautionary tale that quite honestly, todays world could really learn from. Hate will always lead to more hate. One will never grow as a person as long as one continues to react to adversity with hostility. Towards the end, it becomes less about revenge and more about perspective, courage, personal redemption, humanity, empathy and eventually, Ellie beginning to forgive Joel for taking away her choice.
The Last Of Us saga is a wild ride of emotions and collectively one giant masterpiece. It's my favorite story of all time and it will continue to haunt me forever in a good way. I’m really glad that you enjoyed the journey! It's so fun to watch people play and react to this story and remember how I felt about it when I first played it. Happy future gaming! Endure and survive!

Really appreciate the comments you've given during this playthrough. I agree with a lot of what you have to say about the game. It was a wild ride, but such a good one. I'm still really sad it's over, but glad I can experience it again by watching other people play it now.

Someone said once that Ellie went after Abby that last time because a part of her wanted Abby to kill her. She wanted the pain to just go away. It makes me look at the ending differently when I think that.

I’m sad this play though is over, I loved watching it. You could always do a play through of unlocking all the characters in no return???

From what I read it's exclusive to the remastered version, and I'm pretty sure I have the normal version. If not I would totally play that.

@ yeah I do think it’s for remastered for ps5 but I feel like you only pay portion to upgrade but I can’t remember lol. But I’ll definitely stick around for other content from you!!

Only have a ps4 so still not possible I believe. But one day I'll probably get it for pc and I'll probably do a new playthrough then, and also play no return. Won't be getting it on release tho, I'll wait until a sale comes around.

Yeah No return is only on ps5 and should be on the PC version when it drops this spring. It's also really really hard though, even for a seasoned player. She's gonna need some practice cause you can't sneak kill your way through it.😅 It really requires some very dynamic and reactive gameplay.
