I grew up on Much, and was the "last" generation, really. It shaped so much of my childhood, from watching the Holiday Wrap, to actually visiting the studio.
Grew up through the 80's and 90s and 2000's and much music was the channel from Rick the temp to Master Tee and Sook yin Lee brought me my soundtrack to life.
“A lot of people took this time almost for granted in a sense, cause it was ground breaking music journalism”. Took my thoughts out of my mind. I would only add that it was also the same with City Pulse, and Fashion Television just to name a few more. Off the cuff, and sometimes the journalist would function as a camera man and interviewer as one person, with camera in their shoulder, and mic in their hand as they conducted the interview. Man, we took Moises Znaimer’s vision for granted.
I want to know where I'd be able to find the videos of when Weird Al Yankovic too over MuchMusic and renamed it "Al Music". He introduced the videos and the running commentary was off the charts funny. I'd also love to get my hands on all the episodes of "Test Pattern" with the late Dan Gallagher. That was my favourite show on Much. Speaking of Dan, I sure hope that they have a piece on him in the documentary. Canada sure loved that big guy.❤
They should set up a streaming channel that just runs MuchMusic from start (1983?) to finish (whenever that was) and then back again, looping (it would take years and years but I'd watch).
The BonJovi BBQ popped into my head immediately before she even said! 🤩🤘🏻🖤 Rick The Temp looks the same! I’ve never forgotten how he became buddies with Timberlake
People got into reality tv at one point and they pretty much just showed that. It became less and less about the music. TH-cam came in and ppl could watch music videos on demand. The world just changed.
It's a era of Canadian entertainment I don't believe could ever be replicated again.
If they invent time travel technology, I would love to go back to those days
Great documentary. Kinda sad how much things have changed.
Yes very sad indeed. I stopped watching it the moment BELL took it over.

Rick is so sweet, and he hasn't aged.
the tapes should be coverted into digitally to preserve the footage

Love Much Music and Rick! 👏🏼🫶🏼🇨🇦
This was incredible. I love seeing you down Memory Lane. ❤️
Rick the Temp!!! 😍
How can one watch this documentary?
I remember watching much music for my favorite videos to come on.
Steve doing Mötley Crüe, Vince and Tommy, was amazing
I didn’t know The Social was in the same place Much Music was shot!
Yes! You can see a little bit of the studio with those steel beams!
I been to CTV a few times to see their shows.
I left a few messages at "Speaker's Corner" a few times.
Looks like there's no way to watch this right now. Hopefully he gets the legal rights worked out as to the old footage of musicians.
Why did it end?
TH-cam

Internet killed the daytime TV Star
BELL didn't care for music video.
Much Much died when BELL took it over. No one should ever watch anything on Much again.
@@TomGeek1980
I don't. There hasn't been anything music-related on Much since 2013.
There's absolutely nothing on that station now that interests me.
wow super video💔💔💔
Chum City! ❤
it was everything.
And yes, the magic is lost. It aches to watch this. Thanks So Much! ❤️🔥
Present something that was super cool in its day in the lamest way possible.
