  • there wasn't much out there when I was looking for information about this exhaust system. I went ahead and bought it, because I've had good experiences with this company in the past. I think it sounds great. It's very loud. I plan to get the matching muffler that they sell. I did have to drill out one of the flanges a bit. The hole for one of the exhaust studs was just a little too far out. My rear brake pedal is also going to have to be modified so that I can use my brakes. other than that, it sounds great on the road. It also starts easier and idles a lot better than when I had my crappy emgo commandos on there. for 300 bucks, this is a pretty good deal.

Super clean build, I like it.
I love the big, open space behind the carbs, too.

Thanks. It's very much still a work in progress. I just ordered some clipons and will probably be getting some rear sets when I have a bit more money to play with. The bike is a lot of fun, but still needs a lot of work.

Hey I just got this exhaust for my 78’ xs650. The flange on the headers stick out a bit. I noticed there’s a bit of a gap on yours also. Any issues? Was wondering if you needed spacers or if you just tightened the gaskets on and everything was good?

I found out that I had 2 pairs of ancient exhaust gaskets pressed into the space for the headers. I went in with a pick and got them out and the flange fit a lot more snug. Check your setup. Maybe you've got the same situation

What do you have to do to the brake to make it fit?

I had to bend it. Clamp it, heat it, make an s bend big enough to clear the pipe. Proceed to brake with the mid foot, rather than toe, and get used to it.
