Hi even I have booked Thai air , carry in bag is 7kg so can I take a small trolley or handbag ?

I will be flying from Bangalore to Bangkok via. Air Asia next week. I wanted to know if the airlines will check for insurance before boarding the flight.
Is Self check In ( Web Check In)still mandatory in Air Asia flights like during Covid times? Finally, the cabin baggage allowance is 7 kg per person or group if a family of 3 is travelling? I have bought a 20kg checkin baggage as well. Thanks in advance.
