Darts is a sport where strength, size, speed, etc are irrelevant therefore there is no reason why women and men should not compete on the same stage.

Mensur Suljovic was 2-0 up and was throwing to take out the first set, Sherrock then gets an 81 checkout then a 131 checkout followed by a 70 checkout and literally stole the first set! Wow, just wow!
In fairness Mensur did the same in the second set, and Fallon did it again in the third! An incredible match...
The noise in set 1 when mensur was throwing for it was a joke.

Absolutely brilliant darts from Fallon. I watched both matches live and glad I did, but if your into your darts Mensur doesn’t play that fast, ever. I think he was a little uncomfortable with it and there’s just no need for the booing. Mensur is one of the nicest blokes in darts.

Truth is Fallon has gotten where she is thru her own hard work. Her gender has no bearing on her beating 2 guys thus far - her excellent darts beat them - not her gender.
Not a huge fan of her opponent being boo'd but it's cos she is a massive underdog playing out her skin.
No matter how far she gets from here she's done herself proud & definitely started the ball rolling for other women in darts. Big well done from me!! 🥰

I know some women would love to get rough with there male counterparts but I have no doubt women will target men's delicate anatomy which would bring even the hardest sportsman to there knees!!! 😱😱😱
Darts, snookers, pool are examples where physicality has no bearing on the game so there's no reason that mixed genders can be Champions of said sport.

I don't get all the moaning about the booing, you have 3000 people in attendance who have been on the beer all day and you expect them to behave, of course they are going to boo, this has been encouraged for a number of years there's no one there with a Quiet please sign like Snooker, Tennis or Golf, there's music played to encourage the drunk crowd to engage every few minutes, if you want the crowd to behave then ban the sale of alcohol get a person with quiet please sign and let the players throw in the quiet. You either develop an atmosphere where this behavior is going to happen or you don't but what you don't get to do is create this monster and complain when it does something you don't like. Everyone complaining about the booing is taking away from the achievement of Fallon who's a damn good at darts, her scoring and check outs were amazing but people focus on the booing..

@@nzmarco yes it does.. that's the kind of atmosphere they have tried to design and it's been a great success.. the organisers could easily put a stop to it bee either banning or limiting the sale of alcohol, not playing entrance music, not allowing anyone to enter who are not dressed in shirt and tie thus stopping the party atmosphere which they worked on developing. It happens in boxing it happens in UFC, with little or no comment about it.

The booing everyone can go on about but it's what makes the match same as all the cheering. End of the day Fallon's finishing made the difference and was well deserved. Dobey will be finding nervy after seeing these 2 games, then Fallon's earned more than most on the BDO for the worlds got to get to final to be close. All in all been well deserved for Fallon.

The booing is normal, I was there when Suzuki played and the English player Evett was getting booed! Everyone wants to see the underdog win and with a lot of booze involved the booing gets louder!
Exactly. Go back and watch Phil Taylor before he started getting challenged. Relentlessly boood all the time no matter who he played. A world class player should be prepared for it and be able to block it out. Sulovic is a top 8 player and 95 times out of 100 would beat Sherrock. On this occasion? The crowd got to him and he bottled it.
That Fallon is a woman just enhanced what would happen anyway, underdog British qualifier vs top 8 non-british player. The crowd would be against him either way and he knows he has to deal with that, because he's making good money playing a sport that is primarily funded by British TV, and a lot of that is owed to the fantastic, compelling and very unique atmosphere that live Darts has created.
The booing is harsh but the cheers she gets is just another level!

@Mia Khalifa Trina Gulliver won most of her titles when the standard was poor, she hasn't has a look in since Ashton, Suzuki, Sherrock & Dobromyslova came on the scene.

Didn't see the whole match tonight and don't know what kind of average she had. Her finishing was superb and on a par with the best men. This being said I don't believe we're in a position to say she's the best women's player ever on the back of two matches

I am an Austrian and we know how emotional and sensitive Mensur is and he was very upset by the crowd after the match, considering he is such a nice guy and would never want to hurt someone... shame on you!

Wow, just wow. I've never seen the Ally Pally explode like this. Fallon is an amazing darts player and her finishing was fantastic. Show me another player, male or female, who has almost 70% on the doubles.
However, the booing is a little bit too much. I am from Germany and play darts so I know how annoying too much noise is (especially whistling) and I often critisise German Darts crowds. Many of them are just way too drunk and behave like assholes.
Some players can handle that pressure with the crowd against them, some struggle. Mensur definitely had a hard time there and did nothing wrong. Class like always. I'd love if the crowd just celebrate Fallon and and doesnt boo her opponents all the time.

Its one match mate. The crowd may boo her first 3 rd opponents out of the game and into an 80s average but if she beats dobey who may fold under it she will get battered. She is nowhere near the level. 90 avg gets sent packing in this round usually. She will need level ton to even get a tour card and keep it.
@@soup8786 i mean i agree a little that maybe low 90s are not enough but as a hard darts fan besides mvg and taylor in his prime no other darts player averages 100 plus for the whole year thats why most say mid to high 90s average and over 50% on your doubles and you will go very far in the sport. But i agree in the fact that against durrant or gurney if she beats dobey of course 91 probably will not be enough and even if the pressure gets to gurney like it does sometimes in the quater against most likely price who is used to getting booed she would have a ridiculously hard time

It's because she is pushed. There are only two or maybe three ladies who can push / beat Fallon consistently in the women's game. This environment is pushing her to find what her real limits are and there is no doubt she has surprised herself with where she can go. That's obvious from her reaction when she won and put her hand over her mouth - I think she's almost embarrassed at what she can do to these guys. This little run could change her life. She now knows what she can do when she puts her mind to it - we'll be seeing a lot more of her in the men's tournaments now, that's for sure. Earning herself a nice few bob too!
