Love the XL125S, I used to have an 81' myself, loved that black and red paint job. I had to give it up a few years ago, biggest mistake I ever made :( Now I have to search high and low for another one to rebuild my baby.
thanks. I had one, but I think the treads stripped inside the screw holes in the case. When I got the bike it alot of it was missing. The kid who I bought it from never took care of it. He ran it without an air filter!
i was having a82 and i invite my cousing to ride and wen we come back i left him alone with my motorcycle and i saw him putting dirt in the motor and i tough he did not have the time to drop that much but he screwit up the motor

Timing chain is rattling hell , may b the camshaft rockerarm are worn too ,125 has a bearing on the camshaft so bushing to wear out

Whats so good about this bike,is that I believe from 100cc? to 185cc,can be built out to a full 200ccs,with hop ups every where for these bikes.

only 12 hp? my xl 125 s 87 have 14,8hp.
is this a 5 or 6-speed? Does anyone know for sure what the ticking noise is? I notice most if not all aircooled Honda engines do this.
Its a 6 speed
The 6-speed makes engine sing nicely when going thru the gears.

A 50cc 2 stroke will not last like a 125 4 stroke and probably use the same amount of fuel
Sounds unlike my old 125 XL honda R ,,that sounds like a dorsal dumper in a swimming pool and a 2 stroke one ,,,. Being honest here
