This was one of those rare games where even NL was struggling to come up with any sort of game banter to keep people interested. I always listen to these things in the background on twitch or youtube while I do other things, but this game was one of the few where even listening to it was too damn dull even with NL banter.
basically for both streams, i just said fuck you to my future self and didn't take any notes so i had to go through and rewatch the whole thing

@@mrwaffleman8732Can’t speak for them but I dislike chat because I find it distracting and also annoying. After almost ten years of watching I can remember offhand maybe 7 chat messages that weren’t said aloud by NL that were worth reading.
The absolute whiplash from watching this (and others' playthroughs) and then reading positive reviews of the game is insane.

i genuinely enjoyed the quarry and house of ashes, the characters were all engaging and the plot was absurd enough that it was funny. this was kinda boring and none of the characters were that interesting

yeah it takes a minute and none of the characters are unique or charismatic. at least in the quarry, the chat and nl were picking their favorites during the preamble or maybe it was just funny cause there was a character named ryan who's personality was listening to podcasts

Plot twist this was all an intervention to stop Charlie smoking.
I've only just realized that every character somehow knows how every trap works in its entirety
There's not a single moment where someone goes "idk, man, I'm pressing the button we'll see what happens"
Hell, even in the giant computer center running the whole building, they somehow instantly understand how it all works, and are able to use it effectively.

Its time for the spookiest thing this game has on offer: a generous read (9 months In)
I'm thinking all the talk of the "devil inside" and following an investigative team could have initially been about the team tracking a literal devil as it went from killer to killer, possessing them.
And then someone realized while they were doing the HHH section that it could be pretty distasteful to imply that the real victims were killed by a imp or whatever.
So the dev team panics, and now needs to extend one section into a "full" game. How do we cover the holes in the story? Replace the character assets, add some joker flashbacks.
Now they can use the hotel they'd been working on, and we'll just add some walking and parkour sections to extend this a liiiiiitle bit
This has become a bit of a bi-monthly watch for me, but I have to say. I feel like this game could've actually been insanely good if they polished the plot, and... Well, the entire game. It had a solid base, a freak who builds a honeypot murder-house based off of the first ever serial killer's own designs.
Edit: Also I love the fact that NL was so lost for commentary on this shit game he re-used the same "Your mother is getting piped" joke like 3 or 4 times

i couldn't ignore sirtoastytoes request after reading it in the discord lol. also i wouldnt say im comfortable, the editing and thumbnail work usually take me up to 3 AM sometimes and i have to be up at 9 to catch the streams + im watching tons of VODs of the weekends for special supercuts as well, im not exactly burned out but the thumbnails are absolutely the worst part. i'd say with the community i feel a lot more comfortable as i was called out at the start for lazy content farming by putting out clips and stuff, but the support of fellow editors and the community in general has been staggering.

I feel like scissors would get the job done too quickly.. there are much worse ideas out there.. which is usually why your traditional meat grinder accident is done with out ideas.. so much as it's more of an instinct thing.. after all how did we know without the first man to do it.. just like the first human to experience deadly nightshade and thus after the seventh human each giving their own sacrifice to the cause one was finally witnessed.. and ate more humans later confirmed.. God knows how many meat grinders were involved in the first revelation but we know it was more than one..

This game was pretty weak like i feel like it had good parts but there was so much boring stuff in between those parts. The most interesting part of the game was the H.H. Holmes documentary that came with it

i honestly didn't realize the dog bite was what caused it and he wasn't just fucking with her. the killer never seems like he's trying to kill anyone, they always outrun him anyway. he got fucking pushed down by an old man and i think everyone lost it at that point because it was three grown adults against one and he clearly wasn't superhuman
