JINJER is a Ukrainian female fronted band which plays a mixture of progressive metalcore and groove metal, with some inlays of funk, reggae and jazz, though on their second LP the band is shifting a bit to death metal of the European school according to band members. JINJER were formed in 2010, when Tatiana Shmailyuk joined the guys as a vocalist. In 2013, the band were acknowledged as the best metal band of the year in Ukraine.
JINJER are often mistakenly compared to Iwrestledabearonce, Straight Line Stitch, Arch Enemy, etc. Which is completely wrong, as members of JINJER, being asked about their influences, always name such bands as Lamb of God, Pantera, Gojira, Killswitch Engage, Death, Chimaira, All Shall Perish, Protest the Hero. However, Tatiana says that she really appreciates Sandra from Guano Apes and Shamaya from Otep for being her biggest inspirations as a female metal vocalist. She also mentions Mikael Åkerfeldt from Opeth and Randy Blythe from LOG.
Here's the last and final single from CLOUD FACTORY album released in 2014 - Bad Water. The song is first of all devoted to harmfull effects people imply to the Earth, namely polluting and recklessly wasting water resources, and the careless lifestyle of a modern person in general

what i find even more amazing is that you can hear specific influences. like really specific bands (tool on this one for example or born of osiris on A Plus or A Minus) but they still manage to sound like their own. and that is for every song. every song of them reminds me of one or more bands, but never was i thinking it was ripped off. very very talented band.

So I told my husband I wanted to learn how to scream, right? He told me if I should use any vocalists' style as a place to mimic from, it's Tatiana. I took one look at him and said, "You do know that my voice is too high pitched for that, right? When she screams, it sounds like a thousand demons are trying to climb out of her soul." Lol! On a more serious note, I absolutely love this band. I have yet to hear a track I didn't absolutely love.

So you want me to drench a desert
Bad water is all I've got
You ask me to imbue the poor
Bad water is all I've got
So you want to perceive your life
Bad water is in your mind
Joy will never fill your heart
Red water turns into the tar
    I am a cracked jar
Bad water's running through my eyes
    I leak, it burns
But still I can be refilled, it returns
It kills a seed, kills a breed
    Smothers everything we need
    Plugging our pores up
Flakes of salt drag to the start
Our lips are dry from constant cry
Our mouths are made of chalk and sand
If only we took one last sip
Backwater carried away for a final trip
The sky is a cracked jar
Bad water's running through the clouds
    It leaks, it burns
But still I can be refilled, it returnes
Until we wash our feet in a creek
Till we spit in a cup and then drink
Till we curse upon the sea
Until the land can't shed a single tear
Bad water is all we will be
    Bad, bad water
    Bad, bad water
    Bad, bad water
Bad water is all we can be
    Bad, bad water

Do people just make stuff up to compliment bands because Tatiana's hot? Jinjer have a super modern sound, I'm sorry but with the exception of Tatiana's bluesy cleans there's nothing old school about their sound (not saying it's a bad thing just saying they have a very modern sound) the guy in your profile picture on the other hand is very much old school.

I am so much in love with this band and the lead singer Tatiana, I have followed this band on TH-cam for 6 years now, I have never followed a band for long. If Jinjer would come out with a jazz album, I’d buy it.

the cloud factory album is what made them big and still one of the biggest metal abums today in my opinion. such a good control from destroying 90 percent of hardcore bands and still having a loving soft side to it....i think no other band has managed this kind of balance. just received my pit of concoiusnes shirt and a free corona mask to it....keep up the good work. you are making a lot of metal lovers proud

So you want me to drench a desert
Bad water is all I've got.
You ask me to imbue the poor
Bad water is all I've got.
So you want to perceive your life?
Bad water is in your mind.
Joy will never fill your heart
Red water turns into the tar.
    I am a cracked jar
Bad water‘s running through my eyes.
    I leak! It burns!
But still I can be refilled -
    It returns…
It kills a seed, kills a breed,
    Smothers everything we need,
    Plugging our pores up.
Flakes of salt drag to the start…
Our lips are dry from constant cry,
Our mouths are made of chalk and sand.
If only we could take one last sip,
    Backwater would invite us
    to the one-way trip.
The sky is a cracked jar
Bad water's running through the clouds.
    It leaks! It burns!
But still it can be refilled.
    It returnes…
Until we wash our feet in a creek,
Until we spit in a cup and then drink,
Till we curse upon the sea,
Until the land can't shed a single tear…
Bad water is all we will be…

so i was on youtube and started from protest the hero, SikTh and then i found Jinjer, at first i was WTF? Jinjer? what is that? then i clicked, read the desc and from Sit Stay Roll Over, Cloud Factory, Exposed as a Liar, and Scissors and then now, i can't believe i just found you guys, congratulations Ukraina, Spasiba for the good music, Bad water is also kick ass, but ma fave is scissors & exposed as a liar.
ps: yes, pantera, Lamb of God, shadowsfall can be found in the parts of your music, in a good way. doesn't matter, you are not just a female vocalist hardcore-metal or whatsofuckinever the genres... you are remarkable band that really overcome the US & UK bands. Please come to South East Asia.
    cheers!
