I had to cancel my subscription too for the same reasons as you. I live in Canada, right next door to the USA, and shipping for me is also about $50. I also get charged custom fees every time. It wound up costing me about $175 each box. So don't feel bad - even countries right next to the US get charged ridiculous fees. I like their items, but it's not worth the price. Accio, on the other hand, is killing it. You should check them out! They are now quarterly, but their items are gorgeous, and I never get charged duties with them.
You would think that shipping costs to Canada are lower than overseas... guess not. Ugh those custom fees 🤯 I feel like it is also something Litjoy does (as in they use a different route/logistic choice) because with other boxes I don't have the customs fee problem and high shipping costs. Thanks for telling me 🤗 Oh right Accio box. I've heard a lot about them. I'll definitely take a look!
I also didn't buy the bag this time and surprise it came in a bag. What makes me kinda mad because why did I buy for a bag if they will use one for free 🤷♀️ I also don't need to spent money on customs. And I live in Germany so not that far away from you 🙈 They don't ship it with a logistic company and not directly with dhl.
No way? So this you didn't pay for it and you got the bag 😅 It should just be free. Especially for international customers. I've noticed that about the shipping. I don't have that problem with other boxes from the US though.
I feel so bad for people who live outside of the US that have to deal with the excessive shipping charges. I hate paying shipping and when you have to pay triple if not more than what I do I don’t blame you for canceling. That’s so much money. 😕 Hopefully you will be able to get the items sold separately then you can pick what you really want. If you are a Lunacorn you can take some money off the cost as well.
Hi Kristy! Right the lunacorn thing. I think I’m a silver unicorn or something 😅 I have loads of points though. Yeah it is a lot of money. It’s been a fun run with them but for now it’s just not worth it anymore.
The jars are so cute I love them! The storage box is nice as well and I'd totally put it to use, but I can defiantly understand canceling your subscription with them charging you double for the shipping cost that's way to much 😢
I just put the jars in my kitchen and filled them with different seeds. They’re cute🥰 yeah plus I’ve done it for like two years so maybe it’s time for something new 🙃
I live in the USA and I canceled this time around as well. That being said this is my favorite box from Litjoy to date. But I feel other subscriptions have better items more worth it. The other thing is if you see the box opened on TH-cam and you can decide to go back and purchase it if you feel it’s worth it so that’s a big thing for me.
Hi Taylor! I feel like a lot of people have cancelled their box these last months. It's sad though because litjoy used to be the best. I feel like that is shifted. Although I did really think this was a good box. Definitely that's the perk of watching unboxings. If you really like an item you can just buy it from the shop (if it's available).

I have the same trouble with the cost’s and will cancel after the next box because I can’t cancel before the dark art theme, it’s to exciting! I hope the will continue to have the items in their shop afterward, I hate when some are exclusive and then the box sells out and people sells it for ridiculous prices on eBay.
Yeah I was kind of bummed to learn about the Dark Arts theme. I feel like that's going to be amazing 😅 Hopefully I can get the 'wow' item from their shop. Oh yeah those prices on eBay, I always wonder if they eventually sell.
If I was you, I would cancel also. There’s no way I would pay double for this box. I did get this one and I signed up for the next one 😅 I think I have FOMO. I cancel it all the time and then re-subscribe 🤦🏻♀️. I did think the items were neat in the box. I love the Honeydukes jars. I filled mine with chocolate covered raisins, jelly belly jelly beans and since it’s almost fall I grabbed a bag of the pumpkin shaped candy corn 😀.
Haha the FOMO is real. That's probably the reason why I stayed subscribed for such a long time. The items were good and I enjoyed the box (just not worth the double costs lol). Pumpkin shaped candy corn sounds delicious 😍
I don't know Leanda! Its very expensive but I really do like the way they think! I still get excitement and enjoyment from LitJoy's boxes. I live in Canada though, so I understand how different it is for you. I loved this box!
First of all thanks of watching. Second I'm glad to hear you get a lot of joy and excitement out of it. That's the whole point of these boxes 🤗 I think for me it's also the fact that I've been subscribed for over two years. It's been fun but for now I'm saturated when it comes to Litjoy lol
I've been thinking about canceling as well, I think I will wait for the next box and then do it. I am also thinking about canceling the Wizarding Trunk as well, I love their boxes but I'm just running out of room and my subscription boxes are expensive and I think I would rather use that money to buy items I really want. Hi Angie! I have the exact same problem. I have four bookcases filled with items and there's not much room left 😅 I think that it is something we all get when staying subscribed for more than a year. I have to stay subscribed to the Wizarding Trunk though. I just love their items and ideas 😍 but yes you can also just buy separate items if you really want them.
@@LeandaBrooks But I remember paying $55 for the WT box, loving only 1 item, but liking another 4 or 5, going to the website and finding the item I loved was $38. So, the box was worth it, considering!

This particular box I liked the trunk and the dementor kit! The train pin is exceptional, and I am waiting for it to show up in thier store. I have points to use.
Hi Annette. Haha yeah the add ons (and the polybag add-on...). The trunk and dementor kit are very nice and the train pin is definitely one of the most intricate pins I have ever received (and heaviest lol). I hope you get to use those points!

It's the right decision. The anticipation is the best part, but the boxes are just too expensive, esp with your shipping cost

I don’t blame you for cancelling, the postage cost kills it if outside US. This box was alright but I think I preferred the previous one.
