We need to talk more about Doyoung O_O His voice is so incredible and unique and ethereal and it provides such a perfect balance to the grittiness of their music. His voice is the secret ingredient that takes everything to the next level. For example - the instrumental in the verses that several reviewers like Ben have mentioned is unsettling and creates tension - I think that's why it makes some people uncomfortable in a sense - it builds this sense of unease, but then Doyoung's voice comes in and like...heals you xD I love this single because it feels much more like art than any of their recent stuff (which has felt a bit experimental just for the sake of being experimental to me). It reminds of Favorite in that it manages to make the listener feel something really unique on a deeper level but is still catchy and enjoyable.
Taeyong's hair is a punk hairstyle called liberty spikes! As a punk guy, it made me so happy when I saw him in this mv. I feel like punk ideology would suit him. He truly makes any hairstyle or clothes work :] that's just how beautiful he is!

The legend, Kenzie wrote the song, and she and Dem Jointz composed it together. When you get those two together to produce a song, you already know it's going to be a banger.

It's a different vibe for sure but that's what makes NCT special. I love how experimental they are. You're totally right about the song scratching an itch in your brain, that's basically how I feel about the whole track. It's still a bit early to say but it mayyyy be one of my favourite 127 title tracks. I've been a fan of their music since debut and I'm always excited to see what unique beats they're gonna bring us next, and this one is super fresh and exactly what I needed.

Sometimes I need a couple listens of NCT 127’s title track to understand the choices made for the song but this is not one of them. I love it right away. The verses intrumentals bring the tension like a ticking distorted digital clock but the chorus is very melodic and the instrumentals there really scratch that itch in your brain. I also love the sprinkling of piano here and there. The line and screen time distributions are pretty decent. Like I have no complaints except for maybe how the teaser pictures has no correlation with the mv 😭

I was a bit unsure about this on first listen and watch as well but let me tell you, it's been STUCK in my head! Especially the chorus. It's definitely different, like a more chilled out grown up hip hop vibe and now I adore it. Leave it to nct to come up with something I didn't know I needed! 💚 So yeah, that's my advice: listen a few more times and who knows you might like it more. 😊

It's very simple and memorable, which is what brings me back to listen to the song again and again. There was a similar situation with "Sticker" in which I was turned off by the instrumentation but brought back for another listen and another listen because of the melody and the vocals!
I loved this drop, and you're not the only reactor I've heard relate it to sticker, but I honestly found this track more palatable. I didn't like 2 Baddies much, but I really liked Ay Yo because it reminds me a lot of like... old school rap tracks. And some of the experimenting they've been doing on B sides with that more classic sound. It also reminds me of cherry bomb a little bit, like theyre going back to roots in many different ways. Sticker I didnt like at first but the instrumental grew on me, this one I instantly clicked with. But its super valid that the instrumental may not be your vibe!
I loved the verses, but even thus needed more listens to grasp the whole song. About a space in these: it has been like this at least since Sticker. Even in Favorite. This is an amazing song with an amazing MV... I love 127 so much.

For me this hit so hard. It's like a more mellow the 7th sense. Like it sounds unsettling but there is Doyoung and Jaehyuns warm tone.
