Thanks, Karl! I appreciate you sharing the full tech spec sheet in your review! Not many other people bother to cover it. As for the slight delay returning to center... It is possible that the lock nut on the lever bolt has actually tightened itself up since it was installed. This has happened to me before. If you were to loosen it slightly, the delay should go away. Alternatively, adjusting the mechanism throw to a shorter setting significantly increases the snappiness of the action, and is where I personally prefer to run mine.
Great design. Now I want one. I’ll have to get one and review as well. Been wanting to do oval racing. Now I have an excuse. Thanks you for creating and Karl for reviewing.
Yeah got mine. Its such an awesome addition. And the thought of the angle adjustment you can get out of it from just the base kit on a standard 40 series profile is perfect.
I picked up one of these tonight based on your review and left a comment on my order letting them know I heard of it here. Thanks for another good vid.
Nice vid... I'm finally done with the Fanatec shifter. I'm going to go with a dedicated sequential and dedicated H pattern now. This shifter might be what I'm looking for. I've also checked out the Heusinkveld Sequential as you can tell I need a skinny base to fit two shifters and a handbrake on there. Oh yeah, I live in the Las Vegas area and from what I hear F1 gonna be shit show. City ain't ready. Cheers
Highly reccomend SG Racing Pro shifter after 1 year it is still amazing, my friend bought it also like it a lot, and ofcourse Oktane is great but for price i think would go if needed again with SG racing pro!❤
For peripherals like that, where you likely aren't plugging/unplugging them all the time, I actually would prefer the old type B type port there. I definitely think it needs to be a port so you can get whatever cable length you need, and if anything happens to the cable it's easily replaced by any pleb. But there's really no point to type-c on a device like this or a joystick.
it like when i got my sim forge mark 1 pedals a few months ago. they called me to see if i want the updated pedal at no extra cost. i though that was pretty cool
I'd probably 3D print covers for the bolts if I got this, in case I scraped my hand across it. Looks a great piece of kit though. Pricey but specialist, quality, and handmade, so fair enough. Love the option of Fanatec compatibility, especially when the DD1 (IDK about others) has two shifter ports on the back. Another review pointed out that while the noise is lovely and chunky, it's also quite loud if other people are around; negative for some but not others, and maybe some felt dampers or similar could sort that. I like your new co-presenter, too! 😸
For a right-hand drive setup, you can simply reverse the bolt going through the lever to reduce the chances of getting scraped. I've never had this happen to me, but can certainly see the possibility, especially with an RHD setup.
Hey Karl, don’t know if you know yet, but EA WRC has just released a patch with UDP output & shader cache compiling to resolve the stutters. I haven’t tried it out yet as I’ve been underwhelmed with the game overall & can’t quite get the FFB to feel as good as Dirt 2.0 or WRC10 & feels bland without all the basshakers. Might fire it up this weekend.
@@KarlGosling I've only just configured WRC sitting at the PC, not plugged in the rig yet, but I found using a mouse very frustrating, the mouse is 'hot', scrolling menus just by position, found it hard to select things in long lists as the list would scroll when I did not want it to. Finally glad my MOZA ES wheel has gamepad buttons - Codemasters menus designed for gamepads make sense when only using wheel buttons!
Shh are fantastic. I believe the SSH action will be far superior to this anyway, this is what I call a "clicky" shifter. No mechanical pull through that simulates a gear engaging. I like the ssh for that reason you get an initial movement, and then a solid pull through. The ssh only loses points on looks.
great review as always karl ty , wish i could afford a decent shifter or handbrake for rallying but alas i cant being on UC . It does look like a lovely bit of kit
Nice bit of kit that, sadly im waiting on Moza to release thiers purely on wanting to complete my Moza setup. Having a r9 with cs and gs wheels, pedals and a h pattern already. Plus I can imagine the Moza's shifter will be around the ton mark not 3 after shipping for this. Would the quality difference be an extra couple hundred quids worth 🤔 what ya reckon mate?
I've not revisited Moza stuff in a while but apparently the quality has improved massively so I'm sure it will be fine, I also like to have everything matching if I can so I understand wanting to complete the set!
HI Karl. Im just getting into sim racing and have decided to go down the vr route rather than the 3 monitor option. Im looking at getting a GT Omega cockpit. I was looking at the Titan. Do you think as a newcomer that there is any point in going up to the prime lite or would the the Titan be a good setup?
Titan is great but it's tubular which makes future upgrades and add-on's very limiting, the Prime Lite will give you a lot more option going forward if your budget allows for it.
@@KarlGosling Thanks for the reply Karl. I never thought about addons to be fair. I cant see me wanting to add anything but I suppose you always think of these things after that fact. Lol. I just wanted something sturdy and the Titan seemed to be that and take up a little less space than the prime which is better for my living room setup. I think I got the last one as theyre all showing preorder now. I had to get the xl rs seat as it was the only one in stock so hopefully its a good seat
When you said that "everything in sim racing is expensive" I though that you could make a review of the Cammus C5. I ordereid yesterday it to fiil the gap until I can can afford a proper wheel bundle, maybe SportClub DD or similar.
Its got a nice sound to it, curious how loud it is in practice? Im looking at shifters but I am a little concerned that some of them might be too loud, especially when family members are sleeping! 😂
Personally I prefer USB - B for racing sim peripherals. More robust. I do not want usb C, seems way too flimsy. A single bump and you've got a bent connector and possibly damaged board.
Micro USB is the absolute worst type of USB Connector ever made. It is the weakest / easiest to damage / and can bend with repeated vibration, as the head is so weak. The reason the Sim manufacturers use USB-B is because it is strong and reliable - Not because it is old. USB-C is a stronger connection, but still not as good as USB-B. I own many devices with all these connectors and USB-B is always the strongest. On a Sim rig the thing is moving and vibrating and must have a good connection to the Hand brake / Shifter.

Can confirm the delay being the pivot bolt/nut tightness, mine works great.
I am wondering if you shall be making a handbrake of the same quality fanatec compatible as well?
@@BeFreeBeHappyJC This is something that's been requested a lot, and is something I will be working on eventually. No timeline at the moment.

That shifter is too big, I think I would rather have the Oktane shifter instead, especially since it has console support.
