Those Gingiber calenders at 9:55 turned out to have a "listing value" of $2,240 on Etsy. I went back for them the next night after commentor Allison Frasure below informed me. Here is the follow up video dealing with those calendars: th-cam.com/video/g48tljJDckE/w-d-xo.html in which I'm giving many of them away for free and are listed on my site www.eShipity.com
Not sure if you have a harbor freight store in your area but it's worth checking out because they sell cheap tools and have a great money back guarantee so they just throw away all of their returns in the dumpster not compactors
Hell yeah on the indicators I was working this huge pile of debris and saw one wire sticking out then next thing you know I wind up with about 50lbs of Christmas lights it was unreal. It seems like most don't dig in the pile and move things around. It was a complete gold mine for me brass, copper wire , aluminum old power tools. Then I ran into old horse equipment that had a ton of solid brass who knew! Keep up the great work as always!
I work at ahh humm...shalsmart...and you wouldn't believe the stuff they just throw away....and not just old food either...but things that donr sell or are out of season like clothing makeup and even electronics!!
Saw one of your videos where you saved the baby raccoons. Thank you for doing that and thank you for keeping some of that trash out of the landfills. Don't understand why stores destroy things so they can't be used. Would think they would want to do their part to keep all these things out of the landfill or at least donate it. Thank you for being an animal lover. How do I get to your pateron?
You're right about indicators... after a while, you get a feel what to look out for. And I always tend to look over copper pipes too! they're a bit harder to spot than insulated wire for instance
ScrapVulture when you find multiple pieces of equipment on a place like that bank, chances are they are on working condition. When you find only one single piece of equipment the chances of not working are higher. Even if you have to refund one out of 10 items and pay shipping out of pocket you would still make a reasonable profit just something to think about the easiest app to sell is "Letgo". the app recognize the item and even create a title and description on it's own automatically. You can post like 10 items "PER MINUTE"
Miguel: but i don't sell things to people if i dont know if they work, plus if you just list them in the "parts or not working" category and say they might work they sell just fine. I kinda mis-spoke in this video, i was trying to say the high number of fraudulant buyers i have dealt with is ridiculous, let alone selling stuff you dont know works or not. If you got one out of ten negative feedbacks on ebay you will get suspended from the site...
1 thing I use to do when I was younger an I know it's kinda gross an nasty was to go into the dumpsters at McDonald's during the time when they are doing the monopoly game. After hours hop in an go through the bags looking for game pieces an the freebies like free drinks, burgers an fries.
New subscriber !!!!! Love your videos. I'm in Michigan and I always have my head in a dumpster lol it's crazy what is just tossed to the trash ! A lot of stores make more money tossing it in the trash then selling it at a low price.
Some electronics (new and old alike) can go for over $100 on eBay. Do you ever look them up and then test the ones that would bring a decent pay? I can see where testing everything would not be worth it at all.
thx, oh they go for good money listed in the "parts or not working" category too, w/o putting any time at all into them, i'm planning a vid on that subject soon... 😋 (i'm kinda electronically illiterate too, lol, so it works good for me to not mess with them)... plus they are coming out of the garbage on top of everything else.
those calendars go for 10-20 online so I guess not really worth it unless you are selling them in a bundle. They are baby calendars thats a shame they are in the trash brand new. I’m sure a lot of new moms would love them!! I wonder if a women’s shelter or something would be interested in them.....
oh, they appear to be a handmade item from an Etsy shop. I didnt see them as handmade, hmm. I will go get them if they are still there, prob impossible, well take 4ever, to sell them for those kind of prices, but i guess i'll find out, thx 4 heads up!😋
My son loved to dumster dive when he was young! He got hauled to the police station for taking expired Arizona iced tea out of a dump. I told police how safe I felt giving how on top of crime they were in my city!!! I took my son and left. I said try not to get caught ok Lol Next day he came home with a working DVD player from a dumpster in an appt building :)
Sun shine check your local state laws. Only a few states have laws against it. But so long as they arent locked behind a fence or locked shut they are pretty much open game. Just be respectful and dont make a huge mess. And dont make a bunch of noise.
As long as it’s not illegal where you live and you don’t trespass or break any other laws doing it you’re fine. I had a cop come up to me while I was standing in a dumpster this week. He was cool. He talked about how he knows a lot of people do it and the amount of waste the stores produce is ridiculous. I was back in the dumpster before he was even back in his car leaving. He told me to he safe and good luck. I’ve encountered others too and the only thing they’ve done is ask me if I found anything good. I have found some great stuff. Brand new boots in the box, clothing, toys, tv with DVD player in it, and last night found a $350 yard trimmer. I won’t have to buy dog food for a long time- there’s about 75 lbs of it in my garage. I’ve found unopened boxes with bagels and tostados, cereal etc. You never know what you’ll find. Apartments are a great place too. And thrift stores surprisingly. I’ve gotten so much perfectly good stuff from a thrift store including about 100 dvds and PlayStation 3 games. Wear old clothes, have gloves and I wear tall rubber boots
Just wondering when you say your taking the vcr for scrap are you cutting the chord and what are you doing with the main box? selling as whole? or are you opening the vcr up?
i cut the cord off and the plug off the cord, and some of my scrap yards allow the vcr to be thrown in the tin pile so i sell whole. This one hada a metal shell too.
First would like to say,I enjoy Your Video's very Much and find to to be of quality virtue, Love how you help Animals...and your knowledge...however your speaking of "laws" and jurisdiction of government and states statues, codes, ordinances are not law they are secondary laws of commerce ... which applies when your making money from the public when your registered corporation.. however you are not incorporated and the governments was never given power of imports or exports between the states.. the police given out any tickets over picking is the police creating a direct tax!!! and they do not have that power..Sad American's have not learned in school the basic Rule of Law....laws of reasoning #1 do no harm #2 respect rights #3 respect property = NO VICTIM ,NO SIGNED AFFIDAVIT , NO CRIME, NO SUBJECT MATTER,NO JURISDICTION... to understand the CONSTITUTION understand it is a CONTRACT in LAW the INTENT OF THESE LAWS AND REASONING ,YOU CAN GET THAT FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE ,FROM THE MEN THAT CREATED IT AND THE SUPREME COURT SEE'S IT AS INTENT OF THE RULE OF LAW..THE FEDERALIST PAPERS (unabridged Ed.) no direct taxes Amendment 1 sec.9 and Federalist Papers : Hamilton p 220 #36 "IT SHUTS THE DOOR TO TAXING BY OPPRESSION"
Screw the haters against dumpster diving. I have found better stuff in a dumpster than the haters have in their home. Including Platinum, 14k gold, sterling, Tiffany and a million etc's
