What do you mean?
@@eric6504 E9 is not a minor chord, since it has the 3rd major. The scale and the whole "modal" concept here is a bit misleading maybe. If you are familiar with the Dorian scale than think it as a B Dorian mostly I'd say. Which also means E mixolydian. Best thing however, is to consider it as a sort of a E altered in a bluesy fashion, so that you can apply for instance the E major and minor pentatonic blues scale. Hope it helps a bit :) Have a good year mate!
Yes!! was looking for this... E9 isn't a minor chord but they're playing a minor chord in the track. It's notated wrong, please fix.

same as E dorian, so yes it works
Funky as hell but Dorian does not fit and Mixolydian clashes with the transition chords so I found it very hard to improvise over

Dude, there's nothing modal about this. Why do you have E dorian on the screen? No offence, but things like this just confuse people as to what modes are. Yeah it fits, but you're just using an accidental that fits over dominant chords. Nothing modal about it.

Maybe you should start making jam tracks that are modally correct over dominant chords and not accidentally helpful.
@@mikeymike4g63 E blues would be first choice. Definately follow the chords on G7, C7 and F7 because you can't play dorian over those chords.
@@Eddieshredcan play altered/whole tone/diminished/tritone... lots of stuff of the g7
@@paul43700 I would be careful with altered and whole-tone because of the #5 in those scales, but G or E dominant-diminished is a good option (and resolves nicely to A7).

Please don't play E dorian over all the chords, it will sound horrible. Follow the chords or play E blues just to be safe.
