In the AE86, using aggressive late braking and entering the turn as you would using grip gets a fast entry, pulling off the drift is all in flooring the pedal after you let off the brakes and wheel. Edit: It's also the easiest way to pull off "slip angle" which is basically just the only kind of drift in game that doesn't lose speed through the whole corner. It takes a balanced car and a skilled driver to pull off but it's possible and you can get fast times with it too.
I’ve been practicing that actually but trying to make the slip angle a bit more aggressive than usual, that way I can go through the hairpins a little bit faster. The gutters also help. I’m a newb and I almost passed an FD on the downhill with the 86. Ofc he was better skilled and had the faster car, but the fact I caught up with him amazed me. Now that I’m working with the gear ratios since I finally have them unlocked, I’m able to stay at higher revs through corners, making the tires spin a little more so I don’t lose as much speed as before. I’ve been scouring TH-cam for a good build for the 86 but every single video I find of it are all using the handbrake. Which is blasphemy with this car lol. Plus they’re all using a different technique than I am, so their tunes are shaped around how they drive. I went with one but I’ve been having to make adjustments to suit how I drive. It’s been tricky but I think I finally have the build. All I need to do is unlock the steering tuning and see what I can do with that, although I might keep it stock. Like I said I’ve got the build I think, I just need to work on the technique a bit more. Always room for improvement, even when you think you’ve hit the ceiling.
He forgot one last detail. In 1:22 his rpm bar got out of the red. if the rpm bar is IN the red, you get more power. If your losing power in a corner, you can always downshift to keep your power
I’d say it depends on the corner but I see what you’re saying. It’s important to not have too much revs that it redlines but not so low that you lose speed and momentum. It’s good to get it to that sweet spot I find, but that depends on how your gears are tuned I think. Sorry if I’m saying a bunch of obvious things. I’m kinda new to this level of drifting so I’m just thinking out loud. Or thinking while I type? Whatever man lol. I’m used to drifting in gta where it’s handbrake or nothing. Playing this game makes me feel like I’m learning drifting all over again. Feels good overcoming a new challenge.
Ofc this is for keyboard players. Can’t find a single tutorial for controller. Welp, looks like I’ll just have to figure it out myself. Your video pointed out the concepts and the steps to take, so thanks for that tho lol. It’ll just take some figuring out on my part. Thanks for the pointers man
What do you mean brake drifting is hard, it's one the only ones I ever knew other than feint until recently when i started just hand brake drifting.(thanks for the new tips)
Tbh I just kind of gas through a corner and powerslide, usually on Ichikawa Turnpike downhill I really need to get better at tight hairpins tho😅I just use handbrake for those
Yo, if you really want to drift, now that the reworked suspension came out, just use base BMW M3 GTR. Its kinda sad how it handles now for me, going from a feared v10 beast that made some people from some town named 'Rockport' scared, to becoming a replacement car for f&f tokyo drift's mustang scene. Deadass tho, the car has alot of wheelspin for the rear wheels, making it oversteer a stupid amount at corners. If that's your thing, then that's your car.
Make a video on 4 wheel drift I know it’s possible I’m just not good at it, but basically it’s better than grip racing around corners and requires no countersteairing
after many attempt I found that game dont allow you to do it from physics problem basically weight transfer is not enough or too less effective so you need to wait for tuning update so you can reduce springs and sway bar stiffness

well you don't need to get a max power all the time when you're drifting, what you need is *good* amount of power

turn in and then brake, simple isnt it?
@@lhaisalao not really. But I’ve been playing a better game so 🤷
braking drift is my favorite so far
I didn’t knew the clutch drift I mostly use the brake drift and the power drift

hello im new at the game, but can you show what key controls you are using? the default settings a bit too hard to control
I use everything default except left shift for handbrake spacebar for clutch and p for mouse control
2:51 I do not get the braking drift part. It looks like the clutch kick drift to me. Can you clarify on it more? Ty
well this my video long time ago since I was a wannabe so yeah I don't know either
I can do all, good video
to me it's way too difficult to do any of this with my silvia s15.
He made it look easy ☠️
and he forgor to brake in braking drift 💀
Should I hold the clutch kick until I finish the drift or should I tap it when I start drifting.
just tap once and your car starts to drift
Where did you get the like controls display while your demonstrating the drift?
