since the RAT is all about that chaotic, fuzzy distortion, EQ pedal might help for the ultratight, djenty stuff.
Love the rat and the trey azagthoth tone and obituary tone sounds evil as fuck and raw as fuck
@4:45 "Obviously volume, it's the volume" Nothing's obvious with the RAT. The Volume alters the low end and the harmonics a lot and also influences the reactivity of the filter. It's surprising all the tones you can get from such an "old" design
Hated my rat pedal when i first got it but then i spent more time with it and loved it with everything cranked

By cranked do you mean with the filter all the way on or off (ie: most treble or least treble?)
This pedal with Zoom ms70cdr are my only pedal for couple of years now.

Push it with a overdrive?
Yes. Absolutely. Put a tube screamer (I use an SD-1) with the volume cranked and the gain all the way down so it turns into a slightly dirty boost.
