This is the ONE reason why Portugal wins out over Spain - 5yrs to citizenship instead of 10 (for non LATAMs). Everyting else is better in Spain - bigger cities, cheaper prices, warmer climate (even compared to Algarve). Can't believe they actually give refugees eligibility after just 5 yrs. It should be 10 for them, and 5 for everyone else who moved there legally and contribute to its economy.

Couple questions to clarify misinformation I've hear and read online. 1. The DELE exam is NOT required if you're applying as a citizen of an Ibero-Amercian country (e.g. Ecuador). 2. 'Marriage' to a Spanish national can be a 'parejra de hecho', a/k/a 'pareja estable,' o 'unión civil', and can also include same-sex couples? 3. The marriage or pareja de hecho, if preformed outside of Spain, can be registered outside of Spain in any of the Embejadas o Consulados en los EE.UU, no?. What type of documentation or proof of the pareja de hecho will satisfy el Ministerio for purposes of citizenship? Thanks.
From what I understand, yes. That's what I'm doing. Got my Dominican Republic nationalization through my parent and I'm waiting for my passport to be done so I can start the Spanish residency visa process
The question was whether we came to Pakistan in 2021 and decided to stay here due to some reason, or now we want to go to Spain again because our card is about to expire in January. Now we can go directly to Spain, will we be the first to go to any European country?? What will be the process please guide. thanks
If a Mexican citizen by birth comes to Spain on Visit , how can that person stay legally in Spain to qualify for the Citizenship? I.e. what are legal ways to get residency in case don’t need any job as has money in a bank in Mexico to show as self sufficient.

And Portugal allows dual citizenship with every country, unlike Spain which only recognises some ex-colony countries in latin-America…
If I’m not mistaken a Puerto Rican can get Spanish citizenship after 2 years of residency.
