Mr. Akuila Vanagalau Vute was born on the 8th of April 1972 to parents the late Mr Esala Vute of Naveraulevu (Mataqali), Jirisamuta (Yavusa), the village of Lawaki, Nakasaleka in Kadavu. His late mother, Mrs Lavenia Gasainavono hailed from Vukavu, Naceva, also in Kadavu.
Mr Vute attended the Nakasaleka District School from 1977 to 1982 (Class 1 to 6) followed by Kadavu Provincial Junior Secondary from 1983 to 1986 (Form 1 to 4). He later joined the Marist Bothers High School in 1987 and finished his high school from there. A year after successfully completing his Secondary Education, Mr Vute joined the University of The South Pacific where he did his Foundation Social Science Program. In 1996, Mr Vute graduated from the University of the South Pacific with a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Geography and Sociology). In 1997, he joined the Fiji College of Advance Education (FCAE) and obtaining his Secondary Teacher Training Certificate in 1998.
With his educational and leadership attributes, Mr Akuila Vute’s sevices have always being sought after by respective Organisations and Associations. His career saw him being a member of numerous organisations for a number of years until his untimely passing. Some of these services include;

2005: President Ovalau Secondary Schools Rugby Football Union
2012: Member Kadavu Provincial Education Committee
2012: Member Kadavu Government Heads Of Department Forum
2013 - 2014: Vice President Ra Secondary Schools Rugby League Association
2013 - 2014: Vice President Ra Principals Association
2014: Member Ra Provincial Education Committee
2017 - 2019: President South Eastern Secondary Schools Rugby League Association
2018 - 2019: Treasurer Fiji Principals Association
2020: President Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League
2007-2018 - President Fiji Secondary Rugby League
Mr Vute is well known for his belief in the holistic development of children, as well as his passion in sports, namely athletics, rugby league and also rugby union. Akuila loved Sigidrigi and you wouldn’t find him without his guitar on a Friday Night.
The Fiji Rugby League and Rugby Football Union and the Fiji Education Community have indeed lost a true servant.
