i really do appreciate the humble and modest reactions of the Japanese players in the face of victory and especially in defeat. They simply smile or nod to acknowledge that they were defeated and when they do win(which is the majority of the time) they simply wait for their next match.
I always say..Daigo isn't necessarily so many people's favourite player because he is so good..its his attitude that really seals it. When he wins, he's cool, when he loses he's cool...man just plays the game without alot of fuss...no showboating, no saltiness...just gaming.. if only more people on PSN would be like that, especially after losing...it would put an end to all the ridiculous hate mail and rage quits that people are so fond of...
Yea he counter hit Dhalsim's standing HP with Ryu's crouching HP and cancelled it into super. The trick to landing confirms like this is reading your opponent, Daigo didn't just do the HP on reaction. If you watch the last 10 sec BEFORE he landed it, you will see him wiff a couple crouching HP's trying to predict Dhalsim's limb. From there all he had to do was super once he saw the yellow hit flash, it was still extremely impressive. He was looking to land that confirm once he got a full meter.
grakyo *YOUSUCKN***** Edit from 2021: This was a quote from 0:58, just in case someone is about to get pressed. I wouldn’t expect from the SF community anyways.
This video is part 9. This was team world (daigo, gamerbee chico blanka momochi and someone else vs team usa (mike ross, pr rog, arturo sanchez, phillipino champ and bananken i think , first to 15 at seasons beatings, in this video team world are down to the anchor (last player) daigo, hope that clears it up.
Win or lose Daigo's such a sport. Notice the contrast between the other team and he's; he keeps to himself during a victory while they wild out like it's a lottery. Goes to show how much of a threat he is.
Even though Daigo was losing, he still had to feel pretty good. People were getting so happy that they actually beat him. That has to be one damn good feeling.
I'm confused, does Balrog have some kind of priority over the wake up Shoryuken? Why would Daigo get grabbed like that over and over if he could punish it?
Oh wow, Daigo's Hadoken spams ... I can understand why people say that he's overrated. I think that true skill would be killer reactions, crazy button inputs, great timing and probably not overusing top tier or high priority characters like Ryu -_-'
@AbhiB i don't think it was an ume as daigo was trying to use the cr FP to punish the punch from dhalsim. he tried a few times before hand but got burned from a yoga flame from a misread.
I'm no expert but will try to explain, at 10:44 Daigo uses a crouching strong punch to damage his opponent's "extending arms", which takes major reflexes, then immediately cancels the move into a super which is done doing two semi circles forward with the stick starting in the down position. So to sum up: down + sp, down left, left, down, down left, left + punch, all very fast of course.
I don't think Daigo played poorly to be honest. It was just that USA's team was completely constructed to play against Daigo, they all had a strategy in mind of how to play against Daigo. Even the commentators mentioned it. But whatever, the match was great, extremely entertaining. :)
Thanks Rodrigo...I think that makes pretty good sense. It's just hard to believe that this produced THAT reaction from some of the best players in the world. Absolutely no offense to you, but I think i'm gonna repost my original question, just to see if anyone else has something they want to add to the explanation. Thanks again.
daigo might not be the most technical player or the smartest player, but he is the only one who can pull of this kind of majic, no other player can make a crowd full of top players react the way they did, non the less leave the person he is playing agains with his jaw droped baffled by what just happened.
How come Team World doesn't celebrate when Daigo wins? There's two things missing after they beat Daigo, fireworks and "We Are The Champions" playing on the background.
The US has been respecting Daigo for almost a decade. You'd be hype too and maybe yelling crazy stuff you can't help if you beat Daigo. They all respect him, just letting them have some fun.
Daigo, ur blueprint is all ova the net/TH-cam. Every1 has studied ur style. Time 2 unleash the Satsui no Hadou. We got a glimps of it at 10:45 - 10:50.
love how Arturo thought THAT reaction from Daigo was hilarious then Daigo SMILES like 'yeah, i get that a lot'. even Justin shows some admiration for the guy when he sits down. Fuck the U-S-A chant. this is the real spirit of the game.
So I can't just spam hadoken's and then shoryuken when they get close? It's very easy to play Daigo, what's hard is knowing when to stop spamming Hadoken's and go into the Shoryuken, that's the hardest part of his strategy most of his fights that I've seen on here.
@sngoku That was a combo. Super is 5 hits, and the vid showed 6. You don't think an entire room of experienced street fighter players would have noticed if it wasn't a combo?
Technically, he is probably the BEST street fighter player ever, and you should see him kicking ass in Guilty Gears. A beast at fighting games, no doubt...
10:52 Salturo's reaction was hilarious and Gootecks in the back was priceless
I know right? He did have that _shit happens_ face, didn't he?
6:40 Daigo: "Jesus, this guy is gonna sit on that stick"
6:48 Daigo: " Dude, if i didnt put the stick away, he was gonna sit on it lol"
I like how Daigo is usually "Why does everyone get so excited when they beat me?"
i really do appreciate the humble and modest reactions of the Japanese players in the face of victory and especially in defeat. They simply smile or nod to acknowledge that they were defeated and when they do win(which is the majority of the time) they simply wait for their next match.

Damn. PR Balrog. Not seen him in ages.
Yea he counter hit Dhalsim's standing HP with Ryu's crouching HP and cancelled it into super. 10:44 Art's face afterwards perfectly captures the moment of what had just happened. Classic moment.
I feel sorry for Chen having to commentate with that guy

Dude was trash
'Nigga'... Seriously?
🗑️🗑️🗑️
it seems like the whole point of playing street fighter is to beat daigo
Gosh this takes me back. .-__- how Daigo closed it out like that was just memorable.
Daigo's got the swag after the "what just happened?" win.
Where is part 2 ? i just can't wait to see that
so how does the tournament work? is it 5 ppl play against Daigo (chocoblanka, ect...)?
@BenjaminBen77 what does Option selecting in sf mean ?
@TheGIMP2k you made it to 2 min?
@frenzii3s
Come to take the title from the USA? Which title?
you do know that pr rog is from puerto rico and not usa right?
I haven't seen Daigo play before now, but....
is that Hadoken spam really considered a master Ryu player?
Daigo not even phased as he hit that super cancel on Sim lol. Never seen anyone else do that ever in all the years of SF4.
are you serious daigo was option selecting his super!!! and how did that cross up at 5:50?
This video is part 9. @Snipez801 Did'ja get to watch EVO?
Win or lose Daigo's such a sport.
Notice the contrast between the other team and he's; he keeps to himself during a victory while they wild out like it's a lottery.
Goes to show how much of a threat he is.
so many respect points for Daigo I got right now. He's a great man indeed.
What did he say 57
lmao that final Daigo! Epic legend!
@thekatana09 I meant tht Daigo has honor... as in not letting it get to him^^ lowering himself..... does tht make sense? or am i wrong
Could someone wrote that commentators are talking after the Daigo wins?
06:27 Daigo´s expression is priceless!! It´s like "Take it easy, is just a victory".
I don't know much so why is Daigo playing game after game while America is switching players?
this is the 1st time i've seen diago smile at a competition
@Eight8411 how did I imply that?
Even though Daigo was losing, he still had to feel pretty good. People were getting so happy that they actually beat him. That has to be one damn good feeling.
Did that combo?
I'm confused, does Balrog have some kind of priority over the wake up Shoryuken? Why would Daigo get grabbed like that over and over if he could punish it?
Yo! Mike Ross is into As I Lay Dying?!
so is this tournemant about Diago vs Bunch of Americans ? I dont get it
Oh wow, Daigo's Hadoken spams ...
Without his "Hadoken Spams"? Have you ever played SF?
Daigo so chilled and respectful towards everyone he just sits there, monging out you cant frustrate the guy ever lol XD
And I said, without hadokens, he still made top 8. Daigo is amazingly good no matter what.
I'm no expert but will try to explain, at 10:44 Daigo uses a crouching strong punch to damage his opponent's "extending arms", which takes major reflexes, then immediately cancels the move into a super which is done doing two semi circles forward with the stick starting in the down position. How is that thing at 10:52 even possible?
As said in Independence Day, "We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight!" This was truly Redemption! USA USA USA
this proves that street fighter is not just a game but a way of life
You can tell by the incredulous reaction that that was the first time they'd seen that option select. Alien technology back in 2010!
Its not os just buffering
@@1deagr Buffering is the input mechanism...the output is an option-select
Love these days of Daigo .. where the best :(
I don't think Daigo played poorly to be honest. It was just that USA's team was completely constructed to play against Daigo, they all had a strategy in mind of how to play against Daigo. Even the commentators mentioned it. But whatever, the match was great, extremely entertaining. :)
I'm not really a SF fan, so i have to ask, what happened at the end, that everybody gets so exited?
I feel like this entire team is built to beat Daigo.
haha that's hilarious
Thanks Rodrigo...I think that makes pretty good sense. It's just hard to believe that this produced THAT reaction from some of the best players in the world. Absolutely no offense to you, but I think i'm gonna repost my original question, just to see if anyone else has something they want to add to the explanation. Thanks again.
LOL the faces of the USA Team when Daigo pulled off that strong to super. Jaws dropped. Priceless.
The more I see of Daigo, the more I think that if I played like him I'd be called a spammer.
LMAO @ Daigo's Face at the end, everyone is going fucking nuts about that and he's just sitting there like "What? You guys didn't know about that?"
@Eight8411 We were arguing?
K. You saw Evo 2012? I watched the stream live and saw Daigo get his salad tossed xD
@borbo23 so you are laughing at a typo from a droid phone? Again it is called area control moves.
what just happened?
daigo might not be the most technical player or the smartest player, but he is the only one who can pull of this kind of majic, no other player can make a crowd full of top players react the way they did, non the less leave the person he is playing agains with his jaw droped baffled by what just happened.

Chris Webber 7:20??
Jeezus Chryst, I thought I was the only one.....almost thought about pushing mute on this vid
Daigo, ur blueprint is all ova the net/TH-cam. Every1 has studied ur style. Time 2 unleash the Satsui no Hadou. We got a glimps of it at 10:45 - 10:50.
I love the commentary!!! Made my day!!! " im a beast son! Yankees! They're so amusing!!
cant the commentator speak properly?
when mike ross celebrate,vDaigo like: Wow, i am that strong?
4 throws straight with no tech and that full screen couching fierce into super. DAMN....
That finish was nuts. I couldn't even tell what happened when I first saw it.
Haha, i love everyone's reaction when daigo pulls that super off. It's good to see that they're having fun.
you have no idea of who choco blanka is, do you?
cool matches...I really wish I was part of the initial SF4 FG scene.
"What just happened???!" ...the same thing that Daigo did to Iyo in 2009's Gamestop tournament exhibition.
I believe these are the matches that pushed daigo to wear headphones
So Daigo didn't get a chance to relax between the matches? Kinda seems unfair..
I love Daigo's expression - "I better change my character... I don't suck! Ryu sucks! Guile here i come!"
10:58 Daigo toughts: "i just need to act normal now" Fuck Yeah!
10:52 looks like Mike Ross missed it while everyone looks at each other
loooool, i just bursted in laughter when i read puerto rican, made me feel special and since i have played with rog it made me feel even better xD
Daigo's face was like, "Chill the fuck up, Dudes -___-"
What makes this more interesting is the fact he never used this in either of the Money Matches he had with Art.
love how Arturo thought THAT reaction from Daigo was hilarious then Daigo SMILES like 'yeah, i get that a lot'. even Justin shows some admiration for the guy when he sits down. Fuck the U-S-A chant. this is the real spirit of the game.
you do know that puerto rico has his own flag right? and the one that balrog is using, is not it?
why does he do a charge attack after the ultra twice it never hiots
why is it that no one was cheering USA USA this time??
Does t Sabin was crying when he losses to daigo?
So I can't just spam hadoken's and then shoryuken when they get close? It's very easy to play Daigo, what's hard is knowing when to stop spamming Hadoken's and go into the Shoryuken, that's the hardest part of his strategy most of his fights that I've seen on here.
It's called zoning, and if you cant figure a way out around it, then why would your opponent switch up their playstyle?
@javier7high Yes, they do. Korean websites end in .co.kr and Japanese websites end in .co.jp...just saying.
"And another throw. He says YOU SUCK NIGGA".... LMAO
@newborn605 ur right he did the cr. fierce b4 to try and do it
Correction for the description above: it's spelled "Mike F*CKING Ross".
@sngoku That was a combo. Super is 5 hits, and the vid showed 6. You don't think an entire room of experienced street fighter players would have noticed if it wasn't a combo?
@Rikaiden Nope, it was a true 6 hit combo. Down fierce punch, then super is 5 hits. They are shocked because it connected.
would be so fun to see mago also in there:)
Technically, he is probably the BEST street fighter player ever, and you should see him kicking ass in Guilty Gears. A beast at fighting games, no doubt...
Geez, how the hell does he do it, Ume low fierce to super full screen!!! Godlike!
Counter atk with a low punch into a SUPER. Remind me of my old SF2 CE days. Dalhsim weakness of extending his arms n legs for zoning.
Zappafan why do you put so many random line breaks in your comments?
