I just wanted to say that I really like how you start your narrative at the beginning, and then end at the end, without any unnecessary comments or pleas for people to comment/like/subscribe.. it’s really refreshing when everyone else has the same old dialogue that we’ve all heard millions of times, either before or after a script starts. Thank you for telling the story, and that’s all. I really appreciate that!

The story the prosecution told was masterfully written. A step-by-step telling of the story of the charade that was Chaz Halderson. Witness by witness by witness uncovering facts. And dooming Chandler. His then-girlfriend was very, very lucky she never suspected he was lying about his life. Poor girl, she really loved his parents and they loved her right back. She was a victim, too.

Chandler was a lazy oaf who spun a web of lies to cover up the fact that he was not doing anything his parents thought he was. His father was on the brink of finding out so Chandler murdered his parents in a horrifying and brutal way. If he had come clean and confessed to his father, surely the worst thing his father would have done, is shout a bit, but no, Chandler would rather end their lives than admit the truth. It beggars belief that he thought this would be a solution and that he would not be considered a suspect. His brother has also lost his entire family. Chandler's life is now over all for the sake of a lie which grew too big and he did not have the guts to admit it. Smh. Those poor parents.

My parents charged me rent to live in their home when I returned there after living by myself for some years. And I understand that. You have a freeloader's understanding of how the world works. But I'm sure he was being fed, being cleaned up after, and didn't have to worry about a safe place to lay his had. As it has been said, "when I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things." When you're an adult living with your parents, financially (unless you're on hard times, like feeling an abusive partner, being laid off, etc.), you're something more along the lines of a roommate, and roommates pay their rent. Parents aren't an ATM or an endless reservoir of service. When you're grown, YOU are responsible for YOU. Parents can help you, but they shouldn't still be raising you. *I'm sure he expressed his boundaries when it was beneficial for HIM.*@@Pishtaku

I watched the TRIAL. I feel so bad for Mitchel, he was doing his best to control his emotions when talking about his parents. Mitchel is getting married and now he has no parents and no brother. It's even more painful for Mitchel as the person who did all this monstrous things is his own brother. I remember when I first heard about them missing in the news and Chandler said that his parents went somewhere he doesn't know and that's a red flag to me. He saw his parents go with people he didn't know and he's okay with it? it's ridiculous to me as even now when I live away from my parents I always check them and who they are with when they go out. Chandler is a psychopath. He didn't care about his parents and his brother and has no remorse. He deserves to rot in prison.

@50PullUps There have been others. They know they are losers, fabricate stories about being successful, then murder when crunch time arrives. The excuse used is they wanted to spare their victims the humiliation.
What they won't admit is it is to continue their fake lives. It is a handle each situation as it arises mentality.

That makes no sense at all. People like him develop their twisted thinking over time. It's an effect of unhealthy parenting.

What? Come on, you can’t be serious. He wasn’t even remotely close to getting away with killing his parents. It was unbelievably sloppy, careless, and incredibly stupid. If he actually wanted to kill somebody for the thrill of it, he certainly wouldn’t have gone for his parents. He would have just gone after a stranger with no connection to him. Now, Chandler is a complete moron, but even he’s not that stupid. There’s a gargantuan amount of evidence against him, and all of it, ALL of it points directly to his escalating frauds, and his fathers uncovering of his years long lies that were the motive for the double murder. Escaping fraud detection via murder is relatively common, and in the context of everything else going on, it was painfully obvious to everyone involved in the case.

What kind of parents charge their kid rent to stay in their home? These people were horrible, and I don’t feel bad for any “tiger parents” that screw their kid up and then end up getting murdered by the kid.

People need to understand that narcissists are raised by narcissists. This kid did not end up like this because he was “born evil”, he was raised by a fucked up set of parents. Reminds me of the Jennifer Pan case.
    Don’t screw up your kids.

Society could learn from cases like this. Narcissists like Chandler develop that way over time due to unhealthy parenting styles. He was coddled and was not taught to take responsibility for his actions. It's looked down upon to point out anything negative about victims, but unless these situations are viewed at a deeper level, there's not much chance of preventing crimes like this.

What source do you have for narcissism being either nature or nurture? Can you provide your credentials for that and your diagnosis of him?

@@maddieb.4282 I don't have credentials myself, but have studied quite a bit on the subject, as I find it interesting. The information comes from professional psychologists as well as logical thinking. The channels Live Abuse Free and Dr. Ramani come to mind.

Maybe up until leaving school and a little help if in college or university but at 23 he really should be contributing and not freeloading off his parents who have already spent years looking after him. There comes a point when the apron strings have to be cut, you fly the nest or at the very least start paying your way, it seems when this free loading is left to fester too long the kids want more and more of a lavish lifestyle the parents cannot afford to give and often the result is murder for financial gain.
