Singing at Cornerstone Reformed Church's annual spring conference in Carbondale, IL. Cornerstone is a member of the Confederation of Reformed Evangelical Churches (CREC).
This tune, 'Lyngham', is the tune many congregations here in the UK sing to Charles Wesley's hymn, 'O for a thousand tongues to sing'. It was interesting to hear some of the phrases of Wesley's hymn in the hymn sung here.
I really enjoyed hearing this! I just wanted to hear the melody of this hymn, thus my search. I also notice it seems to be different from the original Issac Watt's version, so I am wondering if anyone can provide any information on the whereabouts of this version and how one might obtain it??? Awesome congregational singing by the way... Thanks for sharing!
Do you have a link to this version of this song - ie. the notation and lyrics. It seems different than the original isaac Watt's set to the tune "Martyrdom" by Hugh Wilson,
AMEN!!!
Beautiful! Uplifting! Was just trying to find a rendition of the Isaac Watts hymn and found this. Thank you!
This is beautiful!
Thanks for posting this.
Wow, your church did an excellent job!!! It's wonderful to see the whole church singing! Brought a tear to my eye. I bet it was fun!
