I met Emma at her merch table on tour with Alcest when they stopped in Vancouver. We talked about Red Sparowes and Marriages, and I was trying not to be a gushing fanboy. But she was super nice to me and very down to earth, and I really appreciated that. I hope she comes back soon, we miss ERR north of the border.
I approached her in 2016 in Berlin. I wanted to tell her how much I loved her music and her art (also a big fan of her graphic art) and how much it helped me deal with my own issues, but I was so nervous I could just articulate weird sentences while looking at my shoes, and she was so sweet to me, so human, in the end we even hugged each other. I hope I will never forget that moment.
There is something so true and real about this woman. She breathes "life" or "the earth" or something. It kind of dazzles me how much i love her music. While this is so far from what i usually listen to. Its really amazing to feel like drifting into a peaceful place...
What an album. I’ve literally listened to Light Song at least 4 times a day for months and months. It’s a masterpiece. The tonal qualities are mind blowing, let alone the song writing. Beautiful little insight. True artist(s)
What I love most about Emma, apart of being a great artist, is how down to earth she is. A true queen without being a diva, that's priceless. Her music is as touching as Nick Drake's, so honest and beautiful and humble. I will never be thankful enough for having discovered her art, when I listen to her music, I never feel alone.
I'm sure she doesn't remember me but I've met Emma a handful of times at her shows and she's one of the kindest and most interesting and creative people I've ever had the fortune of having a conversation with
I've played as an opening act for Emma last summer in France, and it was the best evening for me. To play, and watch her solo performance right after that. She inspires me a lot.
Have so much for her music. Got to see her with Chelsea Wolfe in Germany last year and it was almost as if time stoped. When I saw her and that second I heard her voice in front of me, I was honestly fighting tears. Like I can’t describe the feeling her music gives me. Honestly it’s changed my life completely. Have to see you again.
13:45 "...The song is just moving forward and I'm not sure I'm going with it..." That greatly sums up performing live for me. Especially those first few shows of a tour. After a while the set becomes the one thing that feels like home, while the towns, venues, and faces change every day.
Nice mini doc. The closing/end for Dead Set Eyes is just pure magic. It brings me a huge sense of peace and comfort. ERR, every release surpasses the previous.
On Dark Horses was such an amazing record! Much love to Sargent House, Emma, her management and everyone who worked in making it! It was a joy to listen to!
been listening to her albums over the last month or so after being impressed by her live performance on youtube.. her music really hits me on an emotional level, not that it should matter but, she is so cute and has such a beautiful smile.
I almost have no words. This music has instantly tapped into my heavy restless mind. Like walking into the woods at night. Exhilarating, but frightening.
Love Emma so much! So great to see her happy and inspired on this one. SO STOKED to see the formidable Todd Cook from Dead Child on bass with her! Totally made my evening! ❤️
Holy Shit I love Emma Ruth Rundle so much. Top 10 artist all time(Including Marriages, Red Sparrows and her work.) Thanks Sargent House for this Documentary. Very cool.
Thank you SARGENT HOUSE.. MY FAVOURITE RECORD LABEL.. MY FAVOURITE ARTISTS.. CHELSEA WOLFE / BRUTUS & EMMA RUTH RUNDLE.. ❤️🎸🌹... I DISCOVERED BRUTUS LAST JULY IN MUNICH SUPPORTING CHELSEA WOLFE... THANK YOU PEOPLE FROM SARGENT HOUSE.. BIG LOVE FROM GERMANY MARC😘...
Whatever type of music I'm currently listening to I always come back to ERR, Chelsea Wolfe ... Gives me chills all over my spine. Thank you for this mini doc it was super nice to see the making of this album in more depth. Cheers from Belgium 😊
This is great. I finally saw Emma live for the On Dark Horses tour recently in Seattle, so this is a fascinating look behind the development of it all.
i like to come back to this video sometimes. for emma of course, but now it’s nice for pre-pandemic nostalgia. our fragile little ant-hill will never be this way again. emma knows. listen to engines..she gets it.
Thanks for letting us take a peak behind the curtain. Lovely vibes throughout this documentary! I hate that I stumbled upon this documentary so late, but I guess better late than never haha. 😅
Thanks for making this! I found out about ERR quite on accident when I saw her name on the calendar for one of my favorite music spots in Chicago. So of course, I had to go to the show. It was great and she's one of my new favorites-- and not because we both have Vox VT15 amps at home and the same last name :)
I saw ERR on my very first trip to europe in Norway last year and I was traveling by myself, and caught her show at a little club in Oslo and it was pretty incredible.
Saw Emma support Wovenhand a while back in London (2015? 16?). So when I saw that a new album was coming out I preordered. And what a great album it is. Caught her in London with Jaye Jayle and I'm glad I did.
profoundly grateful for both her visual art and music. she possesses the strange and rare ability to channel herself into each work so that we may feel her becoming instead of the work becoming us (or our interpretation of). the art world (and art school) can scramble your brain. i am grateful emmas is not.
me gusto mucho la musica que hacen, soy de chile, latinoamerica y tengo problemas con aceptar decisiones de tu pais, soy bateristadibujo y varias cosas, pero al ver que hacias serigrafia, bucha genial. es solo un saludo
Emma is the gem I was always looking for music wise.

A complicated and EXTREMELY talented soul. I wish her all the happiness in the world.

Made my day! Love from Italy.
When ERR says she misses the ocean, LA, and Portland, it verklempt’ed me. I felt that-I miss it too.

Shout out to Geert Braekers!
Is that Spencer Krug at 11:37?
Oh wowee zowee....I love the Jaguar Custom. I wonder what gauge strings Emma has on this beauty.
Premier Guitar did a Rig Rundown with her. I believe it is a set of d'addarios ultra light baritone strings. 13 to 64 maybe?
