This country makes me want to leave more and more every week. From the record immigration, to dog shite handling of youth crime and punishment of car enthusiasts. There's a reason Aussie pride is dying, it's because there's nothing to be proud of anymore and we can't even do things we want to escape the daily grind without being punished.

This is pretty much what I was gonna say. I have seen statements like this about so many different lifestyle choices, hobbies, groups, etc. I am sick of all the pathetic rules, regulations, legislation and red tape. Growing up I believed that Australia was such a blessed country and we had so much freedom but in the 43 years I have been alive, I have become more and more cynical as to how much freedom we actually have here. Like, now they are trying to police our speech and what we watch online. I mean, come on. This is just absurd.

And it happens because the self entitled's "fun" causes injury , loss or damage to others .
The others complain and when the complaints become too much the local politicians / authorities act .
I live on a road that is popular with the "weekend warriors" 2 wheels & 4 wheels.
back in my youth is was a delimited zone , a gravel road with a hump to get airbourne and a big hill so you could get to that magic "ton" ( 160kph) and us hoons would go there once every couple of months or so for some "fun" but we actually stationed some one at the only intersection to keep watch .
50 years latter I was one of the people who petitioned for the speed limit to be reduced from 80kph to 40 kph on the now correctly cambered and sealed road .
This was not to " spoil other peoples fun" but because every weekend without fail there was at lest 1crash that closed this road some times more than 1 in a day .
At least once every month there would be car T-boned turning out of that side street because the hump we used to get airbourne over has a dip before the hump so at the corner you can not see the vehicles in said dip .
Our requests got nowhere till the Air Ambulance came on board with the figure that it was costing over $ 4,000,000 on average a year to air lift people from here to hospital .
The police came up with a figure nearly double that for officers attendance to crashes on this road so finally the speed got dropped from 80 to 60 .
Net result is around 1 collision per month on average and only 3 or 4 that blocks of the road completely and only 1 air lift in the past 5 years .
We used to camp on private property at Jambaroo for the "cost" of occasionally giving the farmer help to fence .
However after the Jambaroo fun park opened we stopped doing it because we would return from a bush walk to find either the camp site totally destroyed because some consider it "fun" to rip through a camp site on their motorcycles or ransacked because others thought they had a right to every ones possessions if no one was there to guard them . The farmer lost at least 1 cow every weekend because kids ( yes they had parents near by ) thought it was fun to chase the cows around till they ran out of petrol or the cows laid down and stopped running .

The Australian police have never in the last 43 yrs of my life ever driven around stopping crimes.
They only react after a crime has been committed.
As for cars being stolen honestly its not worth there time to drive around looking for things. It’s only in the movies that you see the cops driving around and spot a stolen vehicle. And they only spot the vehicle because it was written in the script.
The police know that generally a stolen car is either parted out within 24/48hrs. Or driven across the state or interstate shifting drugs.
So it’s up to your insurance company to cover the stolen car. Less the 5% of cars are recovered and able to be repaired and reused by the owner.
As for anything else cops don’t even prevent criminals from braking the laws while protesting until they have it on video then they can arrested them and charge them.
They need rock solid evidence to go off to charge someone with anything. Due to the costs involved in processing it all through court. That’s why a lot of things get dropped at the last minute because they don’t want to pay the police prosecutor fees

That 1 point lost, means you pay more for ALL registered vehicles in your name. What a scam

If the courts and police went after everyone that had cocaine in them.... they would probably end up locking up half the top end of town, most of the media personalities, and half the sports teams.... how do people think these people manage to trip over somebody selling cocaine.... and who are more likely able to afford it at $300 to $400+ a gram?

As someone who really enjoys my cars and motorcycles in Australia I'm so fucking sick of always being on edge and scared about if there's a cop around the next corner in case I'm 5kph over the limit because I'm watching my surroundings instead of my dash. The fact there's such strict limits on BEACHES and off road is ridiculous, tracks are expensive and getting shut down by stupid locals that bought near them then complain about noise and the quality of the average driver now being so piss-poor - it's hard to keep up the enthusiasm for my love of driving and riding here when there's so much negative feelings when I'm trying to be out there enjoying it.

And this is a bloke of about 40 with his wife with him. Driving normally out an a Sat night date. He made some noise with a Govt Minister and it was removed. When I first got my driving license (about 1973, NSW) there were road speed signs, but they were not automatically acted upon by the police, unless you were judged to be actually driving dangerously. That changed through the 80's and certainly in WA where we'd moved to by then. The adopted usage of radar speed cameras was one of the driving "factors". The excuse for the attack upon and removal of the personal responsibility of safety judgements of vehicle driving and operation, was "road safety".
And as noted in this video, the situation is STILL getting worse, 40 years later. Through the 80's, I did my best to protest their invasions of my human rights, and to defend my right to personally judge safe vehicle operation - based upon current actual road conditions and weather. I never paid their speeding fines but instead let it go to a threatened court hearing, where upon I would plead guilty in their paperwork. This cost me more money but also cost their court system some processing time.

The thing is theres a trend of tearing up tracks with oversized tires then when fire fighters need to access tracks it inhibits their ability to travel and also potentially puts their lives in danger. People with larger sized tires that like tearing up tracks leave others with no choice but to turn around or create a new track through the bush. Thats another reason they are putting locked gates on national parks etc. They can repair a track and assholes who tear them up will destroy it next rain. Its too much to keep up with and thats probably why they are doing it. The people who like tearing up tracks with oversized wheels are responsible for this happening.

Or you could just put bigger tyres on your rigs to get you where you need to go. Problem solved.
Bit of a broad statement to blame everything on tire size.
Large tyres can only do so much, damagewise. Are you a car or 4x4 enthusiast? I'm guessing you're not...

    • @hellohello8556
      @hellohello8556 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

@magpiemak5981 That's the main reason tracks are getting gated shut and the crack down to deter the trend. The Firefighters ability to safely get to fires and fight fires and return safely is my main concern and I am simply stating one of the main reasons all this is happening. Love it or hate it it's the truth. Since you asked I'm into 4x4s cars and boats motorbikes.

@@hellohello8556 Good for you. You're an enthusiast. Surely then you would note the purpose of this video was the ludicrous lengths the traffic police and the higher-ups are going to. The whole thing stinks of the police having far too much power over recreational activities in general. Honestly, I hope someday it changes back to the was in the 70's.Wide tyres flared guards and the freedom to modify your car the way you want.
Fearing being pulled over by the police if you are in a moded car should not be a thing to worry about. This reflects poorly on the police and the recreational culture we used to enjoy. When will it ever be right to receive a $1165.00 fine for no seatbelt on a beach? That is theft! The country needs to change this before it destroys the middle class. Ludicrous

The problem is the special interest groups are divided. When they attacked dirt bikes the 4x4, firearms and fisho's didn't support them. Then the crack down on firearms and the fisho's 4x4 and dirt bikes didn't support them etc. etc. divide and conquer.
After a personal theft case asked an officer how the investigation was going and the reply was "it's not my job to investigate, it's my job to issue you with a indecent number for your insurance company" awesome police work there.
There used to be a really good university level paper available online that has now been sanitized off the web, it was a full on in depth business model review titled "The Business Of Policing" I can no longer find this paper but the layman's breakdown is, if you are nobody but want to be the special General Super Commander of joke squad A, but there is no joke squad A, you create it. Then to fund it you ask for $ and assure the accounting team you can not only fund it but make $$$ by issuing fines. Then to get a promotion to Extra Special General Super Commander, you hire a Almost Special Sub Commander and more people for joke squad A costing more $$$$$ and then make up some more more previously unheard of fines to generate more $$$$$$$$$ so that the Sub Commander can become a Super Commander of joke squad B with new fines and more $$$$$$$$$$$$. Rinse and repeat, guess someone wanted to be Super Commander of 4x4 revenue. Fines are big Business in Australia no seat belt on a beach in low speed zone $1,165.00, as opposed to Texas USA on road regular speed "a fine of not less than $25 and not more than $250".
