      I'm hooked to your channel. Great work. I'm old 60+ and have not ridden in 35 years and I was never that serious. Of all the beginner bikes, I really like the Triumph 660 Trident. Stylish retro lines with technology. Do you think it would be the best, stylish, techno ride for me. The price tag is super attractive too.

      For me it doesn't seems like it dips at least not that noticeable. They have played around with valves and ecu for '21 and funny enough with EURO5 it makes a hair more HP as well. Around 95-96 now instead of 93-94. To be fair the changes shouldn't be that big, the vibration is still there at higher revs, but it just adds to the thrill for me. This way you can feel, hear and see at the same time that to giving it well at the moment. :D
      To be fair I've only spent 1100km with it yet.

    It's odd to hear Yammie always calling 600-660cc bikes "beginner" bikes. You know what's a beginner bike? A 250 Ninja. A 250 Rebel. Something like that. Anything with almost 80hp can get any new rider "in trouble" as you say, Yammie.

    It's high time bmw returns to its roots with a pushrod, air-cooled boxer twin 650 like the r65, but with more power. They really don't have a decent starter bike in the middleweight class - and the g310 really, really doesn't count. They're absolutely sleeping on this market.

      @jgcapers3860 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@drummer12films quickshifters are dope, but I can think of a few reasons why one should not be on a Trident:
      1) It's advertised as a beginner bike, you know, the kind of motorcycle you start out on to better understand the fundamentals of a motorcycle. Without an actual shifter on there, you're missing out on a lot of the fundamentals and basic mechanics of riding a motorcycle. Hand and foot coordination is incredibly important, and not learning how to shift? Oh boy...
      2) It is a standard motorcycle with absolutely zero torque, not the kind of thing that you are going to be hitting the track with, or doing literally anything else that a quickshifter is used for to make it so dope. Street Triple with a quickshifter on the other hand? Hells yes.
      3) It is really unnecessary. I understand the convenience and neat toy factor, but that's it. It is totally impractical for virtually any other street or twisty riding (where you are going to spend literally all of your time between two gears).
      TLDR: Yeah it's dope, but I wouldn't because of the class of bike the Trident is, its low power, and it being really unnecessary.

    • @Real_MisterSir
      @Real_MisterSir 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Most likely the reason Yam is comparing to the MT is because the XSR has a premium cost for the fancy looks - and since the platform is the exact same there is no reason to add extra cost to the comparison.

      @@mantibarlow6272 from my 650:
      The trident is much more smooth, and a bit quicker. The Nighthawk was great to learn on though because everything is manual and it's a bit heavy for its class. I will say the Nighthawk seat is a bit more comfy, but the Trident isn't uncomfortable it's just a tiny bit more sport over standard.
