The OD blitz and KRB changes were overkill. Those two even break the character guide, it was _that_ core to his kit and they decided it was fair game to nerf. I wish that same energy existed whenever Ken changes are made, lol.

Honestly the crouch light kick nerf was insanely dumb especially since his jab is so stubby. The ex blitz was a great nerf and making him whiff punishable. That was literally all that was needed to keep him in line. I dnt get why they went in so hard when ken keeps having jinrai buffed.

It's one or the other: -Make lk not combo on counter, so you have to commit to ex blitz after one lk, spend 2 bars and be minus. -Make blitz unsafe, but lk combos on counter. So if you miss the counter confirm, or if there was no counter, you can't go into lk lk ex blitz Nerfing both is just jumb
I just think they went so hard Ed nerds right before the "LCQ" for Capcom Cup and subsequently, Capcom Cup. I think just nerfing meter gain and OD Blitz was probably fine and then do the rest of the neefs once Mai comes out. Just seems like Capcom had something against Ed players. Especially when characters like Rashid and Ken exist. I've been playing Rashid since he came out and I've been waiting for the day my character gets some changed but it's been slaps on the wrist the whole time. While characters like Zangief and Ed are getting nerfed. I'm just very confused by what Capcom is thinking.
They did Ed like how they should’ve done Ken, Akuma, Bison, and rashid. Everyone agreed that those characters were the most problematic, but because Japanese players kept getting bullied by leshar and their opinion is more important, that’s how we ended up here.

The entire point of that move was to bait options with it and retreat to mid screen with it where Ed is really strong. Getting clipped unrealistically out if it gives opponents free pressure sequences after interrupting it and thats not okay either. That was his unique character trait and it was destroyed in an instant. • OD Blitz should be -3 at least. Give it it's safeness back and the option to where pefect party can potentially become a mindgame to where Ed can take steal his turn back with it. Everything else is fine: • C.Lk is fair because that button is way good and checks alot of things that are normally not punishable by other characters. Best button in the game still • c.MK and c.HP having a hurtbox extension is necessary because he was so hard to whiff punish • Lvl2 taking away drive all on the final hit instead of each time the opponent landed on the orb is a great change too. Dropping dream combos means you could potentially go negative in drive because of it. Really respectful change.

It's one of the most consistent 4 frame punishes in the game, linked into itself on counter hit and has really good range to contest where other characters can't. The fact that it was able to link into itself made hit confirming it really easy and it's a very solid scramble button too. It has an answer for everything so gutting it was fair. He'll be fine without it imo

Ken's stand light kick and Ed's crouch light kick both have the same range and can't combo into itself, so they're functionally the same. But ken also has a jab that's +5 so he can follow up into that light kick without the need to even counter hit confirm. He has a 5 frame medium he can also go for if he wants a side switch or corner carry, again without needing a counter hit, he also has a 6 frame medium so if he does get one he can go light-medium which gives him better reward when challenging pressure. Meanwhile Ed's jabs are stubby on top of lacking in all these other aspects.
The only nerf that irritates me is CrLK - CrLK on counter hit not working anymore. The rest i can live with just fine. Also the krb needs tweaking a bit

And that's about it, the character was normalised : no more whiffing normals half screeen away, and no more Dream Combo destroying your jauge while filling his. Good. All the rest is overkill. People were throwing out flicker with no repercussions. Sure there are a lot of moves like that but man it was just such a neutral skip move, he was safe/plus after, and that back dash made it so he can just cancel and cycle it from a completely unpunishable distance. He gets no sympathy. Also he had so much chip from a distance it was like fighting a faster jp so when he ex it just ate away at what was left. Again no sympathy.

He should get crouch light kick back, Ken's crouch jab is +5 on regular hit where Ed's jabs are bad, he needs a good light
