  • Regulation 7 of the Legal Practice Act provides that candidate legal practitioners can undergo a Pupillage training programme through an independent Advocate who has been practicing for a period not less than 3 years , provided that such Advocate is enrolled with the legal practice council and agrees to enter into a practical vocational training contract with the pupils and undertakes to train such pupil as per the requirements of the act.
The pupil will also need to complete 400 Notional hours of coursework by an institution recognised by the LPC to provide such training/ coursework.
The pupil will still need to write the legal practice council national bar examinations and pass them in order to be admitted.

Thank you for the work you put into this channel. It is very informative. As someone who wants to apply for pupillage next year I can state this as a fact, when it comes to info on pupillage, it's you and other two ladies with channels that help us, the aspirant pupils, with tons of info. The other info that is out there is from the UK that I also consume a lot of. But you're giving us the content that matters to us as South Africans. Thank you.

You have earned yourself a new subscriber! Thank you for this. 🌸
Do you perhaps have any advice or tips for those writing the entrance exams (NBEB) for pupillage?

Thank you so much. . Lol my only advice is study hard,if they give you potential questions make sure you cover those topics. If there are no potential questions try answer everything even if you are not sure. You passed your LLB so you should be fine.
