    what were they trying to show exactly?did anyone get what was going on?

  • @Gladical
    @Gladical 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I had no clue what was going on before reading the video details which explained at least part of it. At any rate, all of the walking-around does little more than to bulk out the run-time.

    I know the piano theme from somewhere else but what's with the childish symbols? Was the Star of David supposed to be a Pentagram?

    Well, it was okay. Wasn't scary, but the idea was original. However, it felt incomplete. Other than the music, we weren't really given anything to fear. I did like the fact that no cheap scares were used, but that may only be because no scares were used.
    Hmmm. . . I don't really know what to think here. I can't say it's bad, but I also don't think it's good. It isn't really very "horror," but the cinematography isn't too bad, the acting isn't very bad either, and the music was appropriate. It's as if all the elements were there, except horror. . . . for me, that is.
    But that wouldn't be fair to leave you hanging there. So, to be more specific, there wasn't much of a story being conveyed to the viewer, so it was hard to relate to the film. If it weren't for the description, I'd have nearly nothing to go off of to figure out what it's about or why it might be happening. On top of that, there wasn't much character development or any sort of one-liner or creative backstory element to draw us into what he's doing or why (a.k.a. an intro segment, or even just a voice-over, or even a prop), and so we can't relate to the protagonist. I missed the connection between whatever it was he was seeing after going through the attic and what was actually in the attic at the end.
    I liked the use of props, but to take that a step further and use them as a way to convey the story (a.k.a. if he had been holding paperwork early on to show why he was there, like a case file or something) would have done wonders! You did good to sort of convey that there was a cult or something at work by providing a prop that revealed so. I also enjoyed the worm-hole, time-skip kind of thing you had going on with the attic.
    Anyway, it was okay. Not too bad, but not too good. Lots of potential, but I think it fell a little too short in many critical areas. Keep up the good work though! After all, one can only get better as they gain experience.

      Reading this comment took longer than watching the film. Actually tl;dr but I got the gist. I think the camera shots were done very well. He did seem kind of nonchalant about it becoming pitch black and finding the runic writing.

    Award winning?????but why....

    Wasn't bad but wasn't good. Could've used more visuals for tension. And I'm mad the sole character looks like the father from Awkward if he was a decade older and once in a crappy mid 2000s alt rock band before "getting his life together" lol.

    What was the point of all of the set design and establishing the protagonist's relationship with the inanimate objects around the house? The ending credit sequence was the best part of that film, watching those only, you may assume that what came before was interesting or well made. You'd be wrong.
